You were a star in the sky
Over the sinking sun.
Of all the voices that cried,
You were the only one
Telling us what we should hear,
Trust of friends through the years -
Is this the night of your return?
There is a house on the hill
Where all your old friends wait.
Softly the firelight spills
Out to the stony gate -
Voices from inside the door
Calling you back to the shore,
Out of the night of your return.
We wait for you
We wait for you
Is this the night of your return?
You know the evening by name,
Drawn to the secretive,
Still, we are one and the same -
We have our weaknesses.
So many things we would say,
But we will wait until day,
This is the night of your return.
We wait for you
We wait for you
This is the night of your return.

Jesus promised His followers that He would return:
John 14:2-3 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
Luke 12:40 You must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
Matthew 24:6-8 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.
(See also Mark 13:7-8 and Luke 21:9-11).
The signs of the Messiah's return will be that the gospel will be preached throughout the whole earth and then the anti-Christ will be revealed.
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. (See also Mark 13:10).
We should not believe anyone who claims to know when Jesus will return because He told His disciples that no one will know for sure.
Matthew 24:36 No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.(See also Matthew 24:42; 25:13 and Mark 13:32-35)
Acts 1:6-7 So when they met together, they asked him, "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?" He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority."
Jesus will come at a time when no one expects Him.
Matthew 24:44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.(See also Luke 12:40).
The Messiah will come when all nations are gathered to make war on Jerusalem.
Zechariah 12:3 On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.
The return of Jesus is the blessed hope that comforts all believers.
1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words.
O Lord God, how I praise You for the love You showed us in giving Your Son Jesus Christ, the Living Word who was, who is, and who is to come. Thank You for providing Your holy Word to guide our path as we seek and serve You. May Your Word be lifted up, honored and obeyed by all Americans in the days and weeks to come. May we continue to encourage one another.
How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! I gain understanding from Your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path.
Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
—Psalm 119:103-105
Sovereign God, Your plans are perfect and Your ways are right and just. We look to You and see the beauty of all You have designed. We trust in Your perfect will and Your way, particularly when it comes to the selection and cooperation of our national leaders.
Lord, assist those in the U.S. House of Representatives to desire what others, particularly their constituents, want and need instead of what will bring them individual gain or glory. Show them the value of asking You for insight and of obeying Your direction, in humble recognition of Your presence and love. Let them pursue righteousness and holiness as they serve on Capitol Hill, in the name of Christ our Lord, amen.

Wow!! There is a lot packed into this one post that is thought provoking!! I wonder--when Jesus returns with a loud command--a triumphant shout--what will He say?
I've thought about this before. I certainly don't know--this is not mine to know! But, I've often thought that just one word would be sufficient.
What is the word that comes to my mind--
ENOUGH!!!
There has been ENOUGH pain and suffering, ENOUGH warfare and lives taken needlessly, ENOUGH, ENOUGH, ENOUGH of satan worming his way into our lives.
There has been ENOUGH, and it's time to come home!!
Israel and Gaza--in my prayers as well as our own nation!
WOW!!! I've heard her sing that song before but not live. The words are powerful and she seems annointed in singing them. I did not know what Crystal Lewis looked like : ). Thanks for the morning praise. Hope you are doing well. Dios te bendiga
Love it love it love it! Constantly looking up, my sister!
Come, Lord Jesus.
Blessings,
Linda
