Being that this is a NEW YEAR, I need to take care of some "housekeeping" or Blog priorities(organization)...not so much resolutions but explaining where I'm going. So this is an atypical SUPER SUNDAY...usually you won't have to read so much...

FIRST, ON A PERSONAL NOTE:

[OK...I realize I'm a little late but being without INTERNET connections can do that to ya'!] It was my puppies' birthday on January 5th! Born in this home(6).

This is the house I rent in MEXICO for these 5 critters & me! Trust me, I did not intend to have a SHELTER of this kind here in Mexico...but my heart can't help it.  I painted the house that blue & planted that tree as well as a flowering plant called "Copa de Oro"...Cup of Gold. My landlord has told me that he plans on raising the rent again this year just like last year so I may have to leave & find another place...very hard to do with 5 dogs. But he already gets half of my monthly allotment. Because of the dollar exchange value, he feels he can ask for more. Please pray for a change of heart. It isn't much but I really cannot stretch my budget anymore. Or that God make a way & find a safe place for me & 5.

SCRIPTURE PLAN and many great NEW MEMES:

As this NEW YEAR started, I reflected and thought about my direction this year in God's WORD.

I chose a BIBLE READING PLAN from American Bible Society: Called to Be Free.

Then I decided that my calendar of last year will serve as my SCRIPTURE focus to memorize God's Word in Spanish. Many of these I know verses in English but not all. I'm sure you understand why I need them in Spanish to better minister here. So each SUNDAY, I will introduce the SCRIPTURE for the week in both.

On Mondays, I will choose a verse for a new meme called MEMORY MONDAY & B.I.B.L.E. Weekly Memory Verse:these are two blogs that are linking others that are joining them in SCRIPTURE MEMORIZATION. Come back on Monday to check them out and consider participating & being accountable. On Tuesday, there's another great meme:TUESDAYS TOGETHER in God's Word...there you can  join in reading the Bible together & sharing! I have noticed so many new, fresh SUPER ideas out in BLOG LAND...hard to decide.

HOPE

"One of the three main elements of Christian character (1 Corinthians 13:13). It is joined to faith and love, and is opposed to seeing or possessing (Romans 8:24; 1 John 3:2). 

"Hope is an essential and fundamental element of Christian life, so essential indeed, that, like faith and love, it can itself designate the essence of Christianity (1 Peter 3:15; Hebrews 10:23). In it the whole glory of the Christian vocation is centred (Ephesians 1:18; 4:4)."

Unbelievers are without this hope (Ephesians 2:12; 1 Thessalonians 4:13). Christ is the actual object of the believer's hope, because it is in his second coming that the hope of glory will be fulfilled (1 Timothy 1:1; Colossians 1:27; Titus 2:13). 

It is spoken of as "lively", i.e., a living, hope, a hope not frail and perishable, but having a perennial life (1 Peter 1:3). In Romans 5:2 the "hope" spoken of is probably objective, i.e., "the hope set before us," namely, eternal life (comp 12:12). 

In 1 John 3:3 the expression "hope in him" ought rather to be, as in the Revised Version, "hope on him," i.e., a hope based on God." from EASTON'S BIBLE DICTIONARY.
