I could not help but reflect on this, surrounded by my 7 & half acres of pines at my home in Minnesota - "land of 10,000 lakes", is a REFUGE for the deer and their offspring ... how I delight in watching them and then upon my return to Mazatlan, which is Nahuatl for "land of the deer", I read the full Psalm as I thirst for more of Him in me, realizing & grateful for the Refuge He is for me. I clearly see "Where my God is?" and where He is every moment in my journey as I pour out my soul to Him in thoughts, prayers, songs & reflections as I gaze at nature ... and worship the Creator, my Savior, my Godso my soul pants for you, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?
3 My tears have been my food
day and night,
while men say to me all day long,
"Where is your God?"
4 These things I remember
as I pour out my soul:
how I used to go with the multitude,
leading the procession to the house of God,
with shouts of joy and thanksgiving
among the festive throng.
5 Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and 6 my God.
My soul is downcast within me;
therefore I will remember you
from the land of the Jordan,
the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.
7 Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me.
8 By day the LORD directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.
9 I say to God my Rock,
"Why have you forgotten me?
Why must I go about mourning,
oppressed by the enemy?"
10 My bones suffer mortal agony
as my foes taunt me,
saying to me all day long,
"Where is your God?"
11 Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.

Here's a Prayer Guide site for Prayer for the Church!
| Lord, I lift up my pastor to You. Thank You for his servant’s heart. Keep him from losing heart when ministry gets tough. Help him prove faithful with the things you have entrusted to him. Teach him Your ways so that he knows You and finds favor with You as He leads us. Keep him open and honest before You and help him to represent the truth plainly.(2 Cor. 4:1; 1 Cor. 4:1-3 Ex. 33:13) ~ Harvest Prayer Ministries |

Good morning, Peggy! I'm so thankful you have returned safely to Mexico. I pray your time home was refreshing and you are revitalized and ready to serve as He leads.
I love your choice of music today. That's an all time favorite. The passage from Psalm 42:1 is the one I've claimed for my granddaughter, Summer Brook.
I echo your prayer, "my life would have no purpose without You." Amen and Amen!
Have a blessed week my sweet friend.
So beautiful, love you.
Yes Peggy so right...
This psalm with the picture of a Deer i always remembered since i read it the 1st time....and the song is one of my favorite..
I worship and praise God today with you and say...As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, O God.!!
Blessings
Bernice
What an awesome picture! Great song choice. We sang such a neat version in a church I used to go to of that same scripture! Hope all is well with you sweet sister! Blessings this joyous Sunday!
This song holds so many memories. It was the song my husband would sing to our oldest daughter when she was a baby as he would put her to bed at night. She loved it. That is a beautiful picture. My soul does long for Him...for He alone will be my all in all.
I haven't stopped in for a long while and was thinking of you this morning. Praying as He leads!
This prayer was absolutely beautiful. Wonderful scripture.
Of course, Peggy, this was the first time I missed posting for Prayer on the 9s. We were away camping for the weekend and I forgot to schedule it ahead of time. I posted today, instead. Thanks for letting me know how much it means to you. What a blessing!
