ISAIAH 61 says:

"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair."

On 1/24 my COMPUTER CRASHED, so I'm unable to SIGN IN to it, it's frozen. I don't know what's wrong or for how long. I try to check what I can from a public cyber but can't do that daily or for hours like I'm use to doing, so I'm very limited in what I can get done. Think God's trying to tell me some thing? I'll be thinking and praying for you! Love y'all, pray and please don't forget me. Hope I can visit soon until then God bless!

CELEBRATING 500 & 55!

Born this blessed morn' at 3:10 a.m., a mere 55 yrs. ago

A year ago today this was posted. I just wanted to start my birthday off with my favorite author, Max Lucado and my favorite daily desire: prayer. But I have much more to come. I've been working and thinking about this day for some time now. Not only because I've posted
500 BLOG posts since April 2008, but because it's a significant birthday over 50 but under 60!

I thought I tried to come up with something really creative & unique for my 500th post!

This is neither...

...but I did think long and hard plus I "googled" to see what others might have done. Of course, a GREAT GIVEAWAY would be such a JOY for all but rather difficult for me from Mexico - I don't even trust mail for important personal matters, I certainly wouldn't dream of sending "giveaways" from here. So I explored alternatives and even thought of some human causes that perhaps we could unite and bless. Nothing seemed feasible. Then I began to think of are there any stories of "500" in the Bible... and I thought of the wonderful parable of "Fish & Loaves" and then realized it was 10 times that...Jesus fed 5,000, not a few 500 with 2 fish and 5 loaves with leftovers. So that didn't work either.

You'll never believe what popped into my mind next ... think 500 ...

Yep...the one and only..Dr. Seuss tale of "The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins". I'm not too sure of the full story but I think I remember the major gist of it. Do you remember this?

(...so here's my meager attempt at a rewrite) of Dr. Seuss "The 500 Hats of Peggy 'LePew' "

In the beginning, Peggy didn't have 500 hats. She had only one hat. It was an old one that had belonged to her grandmother and her grandmother's mother from England. It was probably the oldest and the plainest hat in the whole Kingdom of God. But Peggy liked it... especially because it had a feather that always pointed straight up in the air (reminding her to always look to God for her answers).

The Kingdom of God was temporarily being ruled by earthly kings ... given authority by God, in His absence. The current King was Pepe...yes, you got it, King Pepe Le Pew ... a distant relative of Peggy...very, very distant and she hoped it stayed that way.

His palace stood high on the top of a mountain, so he could look out, from his balcony over all the houses and fields that belonged to his kingdom (temporarily), over the houses of all his subjects - first, over the spires of the noblemen's castles, across the broad roofs of the rich men's mansions, then over the little houses of the townsfolk, to the huts of the farmers far off in the fields. It was indeed a mighty view and it made King Pepe feel mighty important!

But Peggy had that same view only in reverse. She was able to gaze up from her simple home near the field in the valley to the mountain top and imagine what it must be like to live there.Yet much was required of her each day, to just keep up the small place she treasured & the land that surrounded her, with a beautiful view of a small breathtaking lake that she loved to view also. She was torn between the view of the reflecting lake and the towering mountaintop. Both were spectacular views from where she lived and enjoyed her simple life.

Then one day, the King decided that he needed to get a closer look at his kingdom and his subjects. So he arranged for a procession to journey through his kingdom and get to know the people who lived below. The fanfare was grand! All his subjects would line up for miles, to catch a glimpse of their king. They would bow or curtsy and of course, take off their hats in honor of the king.

As King Pepe passed through the highways and the byways, many came to see him. Each one removed their hats as they greeted him. Then he approached the simple home of Peggy, who ran out to greet him as well. She waved and jumped then thought about her hat, so she took it off. The King glanced her way. Then he shouted, "Halt"... and he commanded that the procession back up to be directly in front of Peggy. The King spoke to her firmly, "Do you not take off your hat for the King?" "Why of course, your highness...I have removed my hat. " Peggy replied.

King Pepe removed his glasses and cleaned them and looked again. "Clearly, ma'am I see a hat upon your head, will you please take it off." So, obediently, Peggy reached up and indeed she felt a hat and she quickly took it off. And to the king's surprise and hers, there still was a hat upon her head. So she took it off again and again. And each time she took off a hat, another hat would appear. Not just once or twice, but continually. King Pepe was quite insistent and decided that Peggy must be taken into custody for her disobedience and rebellion and such disrespect.
It was out of her control. Already the king's accountant had totaled well over 100 hats...and it continued.

The King demanded that Peggy be incarcerated in the highest tower until her hat was removed.
Though this saddened Peggy greatly and she was trying her best to abide by removing her hat... each and every hat, each time that she took one off, another hat appeared in its place.

200, 201, 202, 203, 204...350...450...460...470...480...hat after hat.

It was no longer the hat that seemed to be the problem but what each hat represented to the king. Each hat was a sign of disrespect. Each hat was a sin of rebellion. Each hat represented an act of disobedience and seemed to be covering yet one more. Much as Peggy tried to change the repetition of another hat, another one just continually happened. The King, now very indignant,
decided that the only way to stop the disrespect of hats, was to rid the kingdom of Peggy...that she must pay for her acts of rebellion and disobedience with her life and only then would they end. So from the high tower, the executioner removed Peggy from her jail cell to place her on the ledge ...where once more, the law of the kingdom, was to bow your head & remove your hat to the king...499..hat removed and once more another hat appeared but this one was not like the hat with the feather...the 500th hat before the eyes of the King and executioner was more beautiful than any...it was a CROWN, a crown of beauty, a crown of jewels and such brilliance, it was one of the most aMazing Crowns that the King had ever seen, more beautiful than his own.

He stood in awe and the glory of the LORD filled that tower! It was glorious! It was awesome! It was a magnificent view to ALL as they looked up to the mountaintop...there was such a radiance that it drew everyone to look. Each subject in the Kingdom stopped whatever they were doing and gasped as they looked in the direction of the High Tower. Yes, the glory of the KING of kings was present on that day. He came down from heaven to rescue and save His beloved Peggy. For Peggy was not deliberately disobeying the earthly king, in fact, she had been praying over and over for him to forgive her and have mercy than her prayers echoed to the heavens asking her KING to please help her, save her, deliver her from this plight, to give her an everlasting sign that HE heard her prayers, each and every one and now HE answered with His presence. A unimaginable, incomprehensible, breathe taking GLORIOUS power that shook the Kingdom as HE took the Crown and placed it on His own head as ALL the people shouted;

"Holy, holy, holy! Worthy is the King, who sits on the Heavenly Throne to receive ALL glory, honor and praise forever and evermore!"

Even King Pepe LePew had bowed to the KING, and declared that his Kingdom had now surrendered and was HIS Kingdom belonging to the REAL KING, the True authority, the Blessed Name of all Names, so that everyone must surrender and declare Him, Lord of lords and King of kings. For they all had witnessed how a simple feather in the hat had become a CROWN, first of thorns and now, it was a CROWN worthy and radiant with jewels, designed to fit only the One, who sacrificed His own life long ago on a hill then rose from the grave to declare His triumphant victory of GLORY!

YES, HIS NAME is JESUS,
Jesus Christ!

Will you bow to only HIM today
and celebrate my
500th post
as I honor Him, as my LORD
and KING?

MY PRAYER THIS DAY IS IN THIS SONG

    So faithful
    So constant
    So loving and so true
So powerful in all you do

    You fill me
    You see me
    You know my every move
and you love for me to sing to you

I know that you are for me
I know that you are for me
I know that you will never forsake me in my weakness
I know that you have come now,
even if to write upon my heart
to remind me who you are

    So patient
    So gracious
    So merciful and true
So wonderful in all you do
