ISAIAH 61 says:

"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair."

Welcome to ALL!
No, it's not Christmas in Mexico still
I'm just counting God's Blessings every day!
Y'all are one of the BEST for me!
I like watching snowflakes fall like the stars YOU are in my life
I have COMMENTS CLOSED now, except FRI. and my SECRET GARDEN maybe SOS, but REACTIONS are available instead, see explanation here kinda. I still miss knowing who was here, so I added this linky, on my BLOGGER PAGE also. Just put your name instead of any "Title" to let me know who has passed by and can say:
I WAS HERE!
Here's why: On 1/24 my COMPUTER CRASHED, so I'm unable to SIGN IN to it, it's frozen. I don't know what's wrong or for how long. I try to check what I can from a public cyber but can't do that daily or for hours like I'm use to doing, so I'm very limited in what I can get done. Think God's trying to tell me some thing? Less time online? I'm sure I'll need a new computer rather than repair this here but don't see that happening here in these next 2 yrs. before I'm back home in USA. I'll be thinking and praying for you! Love y'all, pray and please don't forget me. God bless!

WFW ~ Verse a Day

*You may want to go start the song at the end as you view this and read to save time and inspire you...
Luke 9:23
And he said to them all, "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me."

Santorini, Greece
Lucas 9:23
"Y decía á todos: Si alguno quiere venir en pos de mí,
niéguese á sí mismo, y tome su cruz cada día,
sígame."

I love VERSADAY because they are available for me in English and Spanish daily. The commentaries are brief and the photos are FANTASTIC! You can go to their site and read the one for this verse from Luke. This is part of the commentary by Francis L. Harris:
"...WE WILL DO WHAT WE WANT TO DO; whatever brings pleasure, whatever brings comfort, whatever is gratifying and agreeable to our nature and desires.... There is a CHANGE in our life when we come to Christ... NO CHANGE, NO SALVATION. We are not perfect, but we have a different direction in life."
The ending is a beautiful conclusion of "yielding to Jesus by faith..." and our hope as we take up our individual cross. There is no greater LOVE that contains a blessed life here and after, an eternity of blessedness and JOY! When I read these words from Francis, I was stirred to grab hold of this JOY and pass it on to YOU!
After all that's what a WORD FILLED WEDNESDAY is all about, to pass on a WORD that speaks to us to others, visually making a difference: writing God's Word and Promises on our hearts and in our minds.  So...
For more WORD FILLED WEDNESDAY, visit Internet Cafe Devotions

Are you Christ's disciple, His follower or is today the day that you choose to yield to Him and receive Him as your Lord and Savior? What cross are you carrying? What are some pleasures or comforts that you take for granted that maybe God is asking you to lay down  at His Cross?
Let's lay down any burden or obstacle that is holding us back from fully yielding and following Him. Just look at these beautiful views... it'll all be WORTH IT!!!

  1. Good morning, Peggy! Encouraging words, as always. I love this, "yielding to Jesus by faith."

Love the photos. My brother recently returned from a trip to Italy and Greece. Last night I went to his house to look at photos and he had one of the same (or similar) church. He said there are many churches in that area.

    Blessings,
    Joan

We must yield and look different and that means taking a good long look at what distracts us...This is a "hit ya where ya are" kind of devo and I LOVE that!! There is always work to do and pleasures & comforts to reassess...Such a great WORD Peggy!!
    Happy Day to you!!

  4. A very important point...we must take up our cross DAILY! And we can't do it without Him and His grace. Thank you for reminding me that today is a new day and I must take up my cross AGAIN and follow Him!

  5. This was a much-needed word for me today, Peggy. I have a few burdens that are laying pretty heavy on my heart lately. So, in faith, I'm bringing them to the foot of the Cross - knowing that God cares about the people I'm thinking about more than I do. He is the Wise One who will figure it all out.

I just want to be His follower...

    GOD BLESS!

Carrying some burdens...but I don't know what they are. I know God will tend and care for me through it though....and that is all that matters.
