ISAIAH 61 says:

"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair."

Welcome to ALL!
No, it's not Christmas in Mexico still
I'm just counting God's Blessings every day!
Y'all are one of the BEST for me!
I like watching snowflakes fall like the stars YOU are in my life
I have COMMENTS CLOSED now, except FRI. and my SECRET GARDEN maybe SOS, but REACTIONS are available instead, see explanation here kinda. I still miss knowing who was here, so I added this linky, on my BLOGGER PAGE also. Just put your name instead of any "Title" to let me know who has passed by and can say:
I WAS HERE!
Here's why: On 1/24 my COMPUTER CRASHED, so I'm unable to SIGN IN to it, it's frozen. I don't know what's wrong or for how long. I try to check what I can from a public cyber but can't do that daily or for hours like I'm use to doing, so I'm very limited in what I can get done. Think God's trying to tell me some thing? Less time online? I'm sure I'll need a new computer rather than repair this here but don't see that happening here in these next 2 yrs. before I'm back home in USA. I'll be thinking and praying for you! Love y'all, pray and please don't forget me. God bless!

WORSHIP

John 4:24 (44 kb)
For Day 5 of GriefShare, the focus is WORSHIP and the following scripture was shared so this song came to me. [The questions are now posted HERE in the comments.]
 (39 kb)
"Worship is the adoring response of all that the believer is - mind, emotions, will and body - to all that God is and says and does."  Worship is the act of freely giving love to God. I read this for another definition of "worship": "it is the response of the human spirit to a manifestation of the glory of God." The word "worship" comes from an old English word meaning "worth-ship". To worship God is to express His worth. This captures it for me. Chris Tomlin defines worship as "all of me for all of Him". Yes, he is so worthy of ALL of me for all of Him!
I worship in silence, I worship in prayer and song, I worship in a nature walk. I desire to worship in spirit and truth in whatever I do, be it unto God.

Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. Psalm 95:6

Michael W. Smith has another beautiful song that defines "worship" in
"The Heart of Worship"

Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. Psalm 95:6

  2. In the Bible

Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. Psalm 95:6

    1. What does it mean to “worship”?

I think it means to still yourself. To let go of life's distractions. To single-mindedly focus yourself on the awesome character of God. To bow down before Him, literally and in our hearts. To praise Him for His love, His faithfulness, and His grace.

    2. What inspires you to worship God? (silence, songs, being out-of-doors)

The primary thing that inspires me to worship God is being outdoors. I talked about that last Sunday. When I am in nature, I am awed by God, and I feel closer to Him. I like the silent hush that comes into my spirit when I contemplate His creation. I worship Him by realizing that without Him, I am nothing.

    In your life

    1. How has music affected you during this time in your life? Which songs have been helpful to you in your healing?

Music is always a tremendous comfort and inspiration to me. I like the new praise songs, but I'm also a big fan of the old hymns. When I was little, "Blessed Assurance" was one of my favorites (it still is). And, I am always brought to tears when I sing "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty...With all creation I sing, praise to the King of kings...You are my everything, and I will adore You."

    2. Why is it good to worship with other people?

Because, quite frankly, their worship and joy is contagious!! I feel like I'm getting a glimpse into the sound of the eternal choir that I will part of in Heaven. It is glorious to know that sense of unity and purpose when we corporately worship the Lord.

    GOD BLESS!
