"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." ~ from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

GOD CALLING

April 30 - Springtime
Rejoice in the Springtime of the year. Let there be Springtime in your hearts. The full time of fruit is not yet but there is the promise of the blossom.
Know surely that your lives too are full of glad promise. Such blessings are to be yours. Such joys, such wonders.
All is indeed well. Live in My Sunshine and My Love.
"Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the
time that their corn and their wine increased." Psalm 4:7

~ from "God calling" Two Listeners ~
Father, Thank You for the gladness You out in my heart each day. Thank You for such JOYS and wonder of the BLOSSOMS of springtime and prayers! Praise You for any increase. May I see the glory of the fruit ...

WFW ~ JOY

Tsunami in Japan 2011
Remember this? It's interesting that "Desiring God" shares "REMEMBER JAPAN" today also.

In the midst of the terrible earthquake and tsunami in Japan on this day, back in March, the 11th, I read the reading for this day  (but because I was not blogging due to my own PRAYER CHALLENGE, I saved this for WFW for today) from "God Calling":

Seek Beauty
"The flowers are springing up, the season of singing birds has come,
and the cooing of turtledoves fills the air."
Song of Solomon 2:12
"Draw Beauty from every flower and Joy from the song of the birds, and the color of the flowers
Drink in the beauty of air and color.  I am with you. When I wanted to express a beautiful thought, I made a lovely flower. I have told you. Reflect.
When I want to express to man what I am - what my Father is - I strive to make a very beautiful character.
Think of yourselves as My expression of attributes, as a lovely flower is My expression of thought, and you will strive in all, in Spiritual beauty, in Thought - power, in Health, in clothing, to be as fit an expression for Me as you can.
Absorb Beauty. As soon as the beauty of a flower or a tree is impressed upon your soul it leaves an image there which reflects through your actions. Remember that no thought of sin and suffering, of the approaching scorn and Crucifixion, ever prevented My seeing the beauty of the flowers.
Look for beauty and joy in the world around. Look at a flower until its beauty becomes part of your very soul. It will be given back to the world again by you in the form of a smile ;0) or a loving word or a kind thought or a prayer.
Listen to a bird. Take the song as a message from My Father. Let it sink into your soul. That too will be given back to the world in ways I have said. Laugh more, laugh often. Love more. Love often, I am with you. I am your Lord."
"The heavens declare the glory of God; and

the firmament sheweth his handiwork."

- Psalm 19:1
************
Difficult to think of BEAUTY or JOY in the midst of such incredible magnitude of horrendous destruction and loss of life, yet here is God, the Father, reminding us.
I immediately went out on this 11th day of March, beckoned by the chirps of the sparrows, (and my dogs chasing after them and barking at them) to take these photos...

[I tried to capture the colibri in the flower but he was too quick and tiny.]
(colibri=hummingbird)
"Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die..." NLT
"As for man, his days are like grass, he flourishes like a flower of the field;.." NIV
Psalm 103:15

TUNE 4 TUESDAY ~

RIBBONS ~ EVERY BREATH YOU TAKE

This is quite a different
TUNE 4 TUESDAY!

I remember listening to this song by the Police and enjoying it back in the 80s but as I watched this drama unfold and listened once again to the words of this song... well, I saw it with a new perspective... "every claim you stake..." "every move..." "every breath..."

Luke 23:34 (169 kb)

1 Peter 2:24
The Message (MSG)

21-25This is the kind of life you've been invited into, the kind of life Christ lived. He suffered everything that came his way so you would know that it could be done, and also know how to do it, step-by-step.

He never did one thing wrong,
   Not once said anything amiss.
They called him every name in the book and he said nothing back. He suffered in silence, content to let God set things right. He used his servant body to carry our sins to the Cross so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way. His wounds became your healing. You were lost sheep with no idea who you were or where you were going. Now you're named and kept for good by the Shepherd of your souls.

1 Peter 2:24 (58 kb)

What 'ribbon' do you need to let go of today, this week, daily...
or
which one is keeping you from being all God wants for you?

Oh Lord, Thank You so much! You bore my sins in Your body upon that tree so that I might die to sin and live for righteousness. Forgive me dear Jesus! You suffered in silence. You went, paid and stayed out of obedience. You paid the penalty, the ransom for me. Your wounds became my healing. Help me to daily make healthy choices and remember what I cost You. Praise You Jesus for the life You lived and the steps You showed me to live Your way and extending the invitation to me. You are the breathe I take. I do belong to You. Help me to live intentionally mindful of the claim You stake, and every move I make... may it be in Your Spirit, by Your Spirit and through Your amazing grace! I'm so glad that I'm forgiven and You are watching me! Thank You so much for claiming me and staking Your life in payment for my sins.

NEWSONG

"Arise, shine, for Your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you....
Isaiah 60:1
It’s Friday. But Sunday’s coming— given by Dr. Tony Campolo and his pastor (I think it may be Pastor John L. Jefferson, or it's just his voice in this video) The following written one is not quite the same as the spoken one or the original download.

It was a simple sermon, starting softly, building in volume and intensity until the entire congregation was completely involved, repeating the phrases in unison. The sermon went something like this.
"It’s Friday. Jesus is arrested in the garden where He was praying. But Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. The disciples are hiding and Peter’s denying that he knows the Lord. But Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. Jesus is standing before the high priest of Israel, silent as a lamb before the slaughter. But Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. Jesus is beaten, mocked, and spit upon. But Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. Those Roman soldiers are flogging our Lord with a leather scourge that has bits of bones and glass and metal, tearing at his flesh. But Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. The Son of man stands firm as they press the crown of thorns down into his brow. But Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. See Him walking to Calvary, the blood dripping from His body. See the cross crashing down on His back as He stumbles beneath the load. It’s Friday; but Sunday’s a coming.
It’s Friday. See those Roman soldiers driving the nails into the feet and hands of my Lord. Hear my Jesus cry, “Father, forgive them.” It’s Friday; but Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. Jesus is hanging on the cross, bloody and dying. But Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. The sky grows dark, the earth begins to tremble, and He who knew no sin became sin for us. Holy God who will not abide with sin pours out His wrath on that perfect sacrificial lamb who cries out, “My God, My God. Why hast thou forsaken me?” What a horrible cry. But Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. And at the moment of Jesus’ death, the veil of the Temple that separates sinful man from Holy God was torn from the top to the bottom because Sunday’s coming.
It’s Friday. Jesus is hanging on the cross, heaven is weeping and hell is partying. But that’s because it’s Friday, and they don’t know it, but Sunday’s a coming.
And on that horrible day 2000 years ago, Jesus the Christ, the Lord of glory, the only begotten Son of God, the only perfect man died on the cross of Calvary. Satan thought that he had won the victory. Surely he had destroyed the Son of God. Finally he had disproved the prophecy God had uttered in the Garden and the one who was to crush his head had been destroyed. But that was Friday.
Jesus Christ Crucified With Criminals

Now it’s Sunday!

And just about dawn on that first day of the week, there was a great earthquake. But that wasn’t the only thing that was shaking because now it’s Sunday. And the angel of the Lord is coming down out of heaven and rolling the stone away from the door of the tomb.

Yes, it’s Sunday, and the angel of the Lord is sitting on that stone and the guards posted at the tomb to keep the body from disappearing were shaking in their boots because it’s Sunday, and the lamb that was silent before the slaughter is now the resurrected lion from the tribe of Judah, for He is not here, the angel says. He is risen indeed!
It’s Sunday, and the crucified and resurrected Christ has defeated death, hell, sin and the grave.

It’s Sunday. And now everything has changed. It’s the age of grace, God’s grace poured out on all who would look to that crucified lamb of Calvary. Grace freely given to all who would believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross of Calvary was buried and rose again. All because it’s Sunday."

MY REDEEMER LIVES ...

HERE are my Word Filled Wednesdays that I shared over at our team blog, the POWER OF YOUR LOVE while I was doin' my 40 days away 2 PRAY!
  • So as I was away in my 40 DAY PRAYER CHALLENGE, "Seeking Him" in "REDEMPTION" and a "SPLASH OF HIS GLORY"... HE WEPT and so did I.

  • We were ONE! ONE SPIRIT! ONE FOCUS! ONE HEART! ONE BREATH! ONE TEAR, ONE GASP... in ONE WORD... JESUS!

And as I joined CCCI in their "40 Days of Worship and Seeking the Lord Together"...
"We have traveled a ways together, beginning with an emphasis on intimacy, moving on to cultivate a greater attentiveness to and dependence on God."

...then we entered this last segment: RELEASE

"Release... which is just what we want to do in light of all the ways Jesus has been moving in our lives."

"To pray is nothing more involved than to lie in the sunshine of His grace, to expose our distress of body and soul to those healing rays which can, in a wonderful way, counteract and render ineffective the bacteria of sin. To be a man or woman of prayer is to take this sun-cure, to give Jesus, with His wonder-working power, access to our distress night and day." -- O. Hallesby

How has He been speaking to you?

Have you sensed Him giving you greater space in life to connect with Him so that you can press deep into the heart of the Savior?

I PRAY YOUR ANSWER
is
"YES"

My walk is more intimate with God, more attentive to God and more dependent on God. Did you notice those tiny prepositions before God: with, to and on?

All very important to being released to flow through His Spirit within us and ABIDE IN CHRIST JESUS...

Luke 7:44-46: Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet."

Mary Magdalene

First Witness of the Resurrection

Matthew 27:55-61, 28:1-10
Mark 15:40-41, 16:1-11
Luke 8:1-3, 23:44-49, 23:54-56, Luke 24:1-11
John 19:25, John 20:1-18

Let us BE like these WOMEN of the WORD,
Witnesses of the power of HIS RESURRECTION in our lives...
to others

YES, JOY COMES IN THE MORNING!
