ISAIAH 61 says:

"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair."

Welcome to ALL!
No, it's not Christmas in Mexico still
I'm just counting God's Blessings every day!
Y'all are one of the BEST for me!
I like watching snowflakes fall like the stars YOU are in my life
I have COMMENTS CLOSED now, except FRI. and my SECRET GARDEN maybe SOS, but REACTIONS are available instead, see explanation here kinda. I still miss knowing who was here, so I added this linky, on my BLOGGER PAGE also. Just put your name instead of any "Title" to let me know who has passed by and can say:
I WAS HERE!
Here's why: On 1/24 my COMPUTER CRASHED, so I'm unable to SIGN IN to it, it's frozen. I don't know what's wrong or for how long. I try to check what I can from a public cyber but can't do that daily or for hours like I'm use to doing, so I'm very limited in what I can get done. Think God's trying to tell me some thing? Less time online? I'm sure I'll need a new computer rather than repair this here but don't see that happening here in these next 2 yrs. before I'm back home in USA. I'll be thinking and praying for you! Love y'all, pray and please don't forget me. God bless!

FAITH FOCUS FRIDAY

Today I FOCUS my FAITH with claiming a Promise from God of 365 promises and FEARLESSLY PRAY with others who set aside Fridays to lift others up to the very Throne of God. There is nothing better than a day filled by His Holy Spirit, praying, interceding and building our faith through God's Word as we claim His Promises to us. Turning His Word into a prayer is the best way to do this. May I encourage you to "Breakthrough to the New" along with others. (see Vimeo in right sidebar).

I have another added FEATURE for FRIDAY FAITH FOCUS and that is a memorization of verses... I've used them here before they are called FIGHTER VERSES... so whether you'd like to memorize the weekly verse or just FOCUS on it as a FIGHTER VERSE, it's up to you... But each Friday, I will give the current FIGHTER VERSE and the upcoming one. However, if you go to their site, they have much more resources to offer you, such as this devotion on this week's Fighter Verse; a chart for you to keep track of your verses; a bookmark for the entire year, which also gives you some great tips on how to memorize; Verse card maker; and my favorite part... Legacy Songs (the Fighter Verses put to music...the only problem is that it is for a different set, 2012 they are doing Set 2) plus they have iPhone apps, etc. that I have no idea what or how to use ... nor can I, but you all can.

On next week's Monday Manna, I share another great place for memorization that started this past week.

The Fighter verse for Jan. 1 (this past week) was:
Isaiah 40:8 "The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of God will stand forever."

The questions to reflect on were:
What is our confidence in this text?
What is the “word of our God?”
How might Isaiah 40:8 help us when we feel the reality of our grass likeness?
For the week of Jan. 8th it will be:
Romans 10:13, 14 [15]

This week's FAITH FOCUS Promises are from:

Malachi 3:1; Psalm 103:8; Psalm 33:11; Genesis 1:27-28; Ephesians 1:4-5; Colossians 1:12-13; John 3:16;

I have chosen Promise #6 from Colossians 1:12-13 to go along with my chosen OneWord for 2012: LIGHT!

"...giving thanks to the Father
who has qualified you to share
in the saints inheritance in the light.
He delivered us from the power of darkness
and transferred us to the kingdom of the Son He loves."
Colossians 1:12-13

Now choose one of this week's Promises of God *from the choices above; share here in the comments or on your blog to keep you focused and add your link here in the comments (Usually I do a LINKY, but I have found that not many join on their blog but share right here, so I'm not doing the LINKY, but I certainly will if more BLOG their choice. Please let us know which one you choose and if you have it on your blog - your link).
Visit 365promises site for their daily devotion and these Promises of God with beautiful photography and encouragement!

BE SURE TO READ MY NOTE AT THE END OF MONDAY'S POST if you missed it! For this reason, I'm not being a very good host this month for either "Faith Focus" or "SOS" so I almost did not post them but that's what happens when you try to do "blogging" along with "REAL life" and for me that's being in a foreign field with mission work as well. Usually, I schedule my blog posts long in advance... for when I have much ado... I do not want to let either Faith Focus or SOS go, so I hope you keep focusing your faith on God's Promises and Soaking on SONday in God's love and light through scenes, scriptures, or songs... and continue along with me building and encouraging one another in FAITH!

  2. I claim #5 and love The Message version...

"Long before he laid down earth's foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son."

  4. What is our confidence in this text?

Our confidence is based on GOD. Not in the temporal things of this life. Not even on the temporary status of our own lives. God's Word stands forever. And that means that His promises also last forever. So, even though the earth and the heavens will one day pass away, we will not - for God has promised that we will spend eternity in His presence.

What is the “word of our God?”

To me, I think of two things. Obviously, the Bible is God's holy Word. The written words are His - spoken thousands of years ago - and yet, spoken to me this very day. And then, Jesus is THE Word - the Logos - of God. He is the One who made God's words come alive - literally.

How might Isaiah 40:8 help us when we feel the reality of our grass likeness?

Because God has promised that we will live forever with Him, we can depend on that promise. We may be "like" grass - but we will not wither or fade or die. We will only "pass" into life from death. THAT is the confident hope that dispels our grass likeness!

My Promise? The verse that tells the entire story of the Bible in one sentence: John 3:16.

    For God so loved ME...

    Glory.

    GOD BLESS!
