FIGHTER VERSE this Week 2:
...for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." 14How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? [15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"] Romans 10:13-14 [15] |

... but I love the devotion on the salvation message for Promise #10 also: My heart tendered by the compassion of His and His Spirit living in and through me.
Awesome! Can't get any better!

My choice is #8 Galatians 4:7. "I sent the Spirit of My Son into your heart so you could call Me Father." I never knew what an earthly father was. He lived to be 83, but I never remember him saying "I love you". He was not educated. All he could do was write his name. He could not read, but in my heart because of some of the thngs he said or let me do that he loved me and I know I will see him again. God showed me 3 times he had accepted Jesus as his Savior. So beling able to call God my Abba Father has a lot of meaning to me because He tells me through His word that He loves me and He has done so much for me.
ReplyDeleteThank You, Abba Father, I love You very much. I did not blog this.
Thank you Alice... I'm so glad that you shared but I am sorry that you don't have recollections of your earthly father's love.
DeleteI'm sure he loved you just did not know how to share it. The good news is Your Heavenly Father loves you enough for both and you realize this. Also how you loved your dad and God showed you he accepted Jesus as his Savior. Praise God! As difficult or as easy as it is to relate to Abba, I'm thankful you know how much He loves you and confirms this through His word to you and for you.
I have been reading in Jeremiah the past several weeks, so I chose Jeremiah 29:11..
ReplyDelete" For I know the plans I have for you”—this is the LORD’s declaration—“plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."
Amen! Who am I to doubt or question God's plans? I choose to always hope and wait in ANTICIPATION!!
Great selection Karen and great reflection of how can we doubt God's plan. I pray that all His plans are revealed to you as plans for your good, for your welfare and well being, a bright future and hope filled with His wonderful touch of love for you and your loved ones. Choosing to hope and wait in ANTICIPATION is a great WORD for 2012! I anticipate all GOOD and expect God's favor...
DeleteI choose Jeremiah 29:11- My plan for your future is filled with hope. Amen, I truly believe this. God already saved my life, so my future is looking very bright.
ReplyDeletePraise God Denise! I truly am thankful that God saved your life for an even greater plan and He does hold you in His healing hand as Your Great Physician. I'm praying with HOPE for you day by day
Deleterestoring you to complete recovery and good health! I want all God's plan to be for your welfare, watching over you constantly to bring a good future and much HOPE to press on and hold on to Him, cuz He never lets go... right?
I chose Gal 3:29 too, Peggy. It is wonderful to be an heir of His promises. I love all the others too. Love you, Dear ~
ReplyDeleteThank you Cathy! I'm so delighted that we both or all who believe are heirs of His Promises... every one! What a great inheritance we hold and have been given. I agree totally with you! I love you, too and glad to see you choose a great one out of these wonderful Words from Abba to us!
DeleteThis is what I have chosen for this week:
ReplyDelete"I am at work in your life through the desires of your heart." Philippians 2:13
Here's why.
I read this wonderful promise in so many ways. First of all, there is the promise that God is at work in my life. He didn't just save me, and then let me muddle my way to eternity. Nope! He is working, all the time, in me, to perfect the purposes He has for me. None the least of which is to become like His Son, Jesus.
Second, God works through the desires of my heart. I take that to mean that God knows what I want - He knows what makes me joyful. And it is in my desires - to write, to speak, for instance - that He will work. I can't draw or paint - and so it doesn't make a lot of sense for God to suddenly inspire me to paint the Sistine Chapel (besides, Michaelangelo did a much better job). No, He will work through MY desires, the things that I love to do.
And finally, God also works in me to shape and alter and mold my desires. He changes them until they begin to align with HIS desires. This is where I must surrender in trust to Him. He will gradually (and sometimes rapidly) change my thinking until I absolutely want what HE wants.
Thank you for your faithfulness, Peggy. I so hope that you continue with your blogging. You are an oasis for me - a cool and refreshing place to drink some *Living Water* and *soak in the Spirit*!
GOD BLESS!
Ohhh yes Sharon... such a beautiful and rich choice and inspiring reflection as to your reason for choosing this!!! Hallelujah...to the first... we are in a constant process of becoming His Masterpiece!
ReplyDeleteAnd a BIG AMEN to that second one! I see it coming to fruit... bearing good fruit as soon as it blossoms... all in God's time (ahem)
Ohhh how I love how you respond and that final one. I pray that He continues making possible ALL your heart's desires, and that you grow in desiring what He wants... (ohhh yes,our heart's cry)!
Thank you for your faithfulness Sharon, your inspiring insights on your blog and mine, and such beautiful words of encouragement! I really do like this REPLY... it may make me reconsider. Thanks!
Thanks for showing me the way so I'd like it enough to add it. But how does anyone know that I've replied. You know I always would...
(lol) \0/
And here I am to reply back!!
ReplyDeleteI always check back on blogs that I've commented on - and I've sorta got an idea of the people who respond back to my comments. I used to respond back to all the comments on my own blog, but had to cut back on the time I spend there. But this new reply thing makes it easier to respond, and quicker. Maybe you could just put a little P.S. at the end of your blog posts that have comments open - just a note to check back for your responses. Just a thought...
And I left a reply to your comment on the Pick 'Ems about Daniel -
You knew I would, huh?!? LOL!! xo
Thanks Sharon! Good suggestion. But I'm unlike you (God forbid) in that regard... I do not generally check back for responses except yours, because I value what you say! :0)
DeleteI did get my answer through you and Karen, in a round about way. Karen showed me in my old format (which I had to go back to today on POYL because Blogger is not functioning properly and I could not comment on your blog or even my own without going back to pop up window, so you must have yours set to embedded which gives this option but as I said not working today)that when you comment in that one, you can check for follow up comments and you get everyone's... that works for knowing this in a small group like POYL but if I use this format, I don't see it as an option yet... who knows what they're working on now (grrrrrrr) that Blogger... I went to their Forum to see what's up.
And the way I'm not like you, is I'm not very responsible about getting back or checking back or being able to comment to everyone... like I have so many (eh?)...just think if I did.
God knows this and I ask Him to give me only what I can handle.
I can't even do like some do (Karen, Joan (I think), Wanda and some others that respond by email to the ones that they can with emails... geesh... I guess I would if there was an element of confusion or misunderstanding or maybe even to solidify the point or affirm... but not if I have say more than 10... and I should be ready to respond...
Thanks for sharing Living Water with me.
Love XO (really?) we can do that...
Peggy
