Psalm 119:130 The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. |
This is the "Victorian Garden" gate that I spoke about back when I started with the LIGHT of the WORD because it opens "Passages of Light" with this "gate" after a beautiful introduction by Thomas Kinkade and then this painting of just the gate like this, with the words "Light of the Word" with his explanation of how he paints the world with lights ... even though this "gate" is very close to the one in the book; the one that has caught my attention has colors that are very rich, warm and dark with this glimpse of a ray of light penetrating the dark with a beautiful glow on to this stone laid path, not the same brightness of light that is in this painting yet one that seems to unfold and light the path ... I wish my words could paint as vividly this gate because it has become one of my favorites so far of his works.
In the "Victorian Garden", the emphasis and beauty seem to be in the flowers in the garden, the light is on them... but in the opening painting for this section in the book of this gate but much closer, the Light and clearly the focus, is the open GATE ... with the LIGHT cast just right on the path... an "unfolding of HIS WORD gives LIGHT" and so it does. But even more profound... "it gives understanding to the simple", which also comes by walking through the gate or spiritually speaking, the filling of the Holy Spirit in our lives to enlighten us in God's Word... to open Light to help us with our understanding as we read and by reading, we grow as these flowers in this garden, more beautiful and brilliant in His Light! Yes, Thomas Kinkade, there is Light in the Word and your beautiful paintings! I indeed have been so richly blessed by both
