aMazing Grace's... BLOG VERSE ~ from ISAIAH 61 which says:
"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORDis on me, because the LORD has anointedme to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me tobind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedomfor the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaimthe year of the LORD's favorand the day of vengeance of our God, to comfortall who mourn, and providefor those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them acrown of beautyinstead of ashes, the oil of gladnessinstead of mourning, and a garment of praiseinstead of a spirit of despair."
You may be wondering WHY I am still wandering with the "magi", the 3 Kings as my heading and background with the Star. It all has to do with my blog name and URL, which I explained back HERE. I'm hoping I'll be able to do a new blog post about following that Star, the Light of the World, through the Mazes and Messes of my life to the Miracles of Jesus Christ that guides me to the Peace He gives. Then I came upon one I'd written back here, but I'm still seeking MORE of Him in me. I hope that is what you see when you come and read here! May Christ's PEACE be with you now and forevermore, reigning in your life, sustaining you, inspiring you, holding you up, seeing you through with His aMazing Grace.

And I did not even stick with my own plan from then with "God as Admirable" (which He most definitely is) but HE came to me as "My Portion" and so I went with this:
LORD, you alone are myportionand my cup; you make my lot secure. -Psalm 16:5
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. -Psalm 73:26
You are my portion, LORD; I have promised to obey your words. -Psalm 119:57
I cry to you, LORD; I say, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.” -Psalm 142:5
The idols among the smooth stones of the ravines are your portion; indeed, they are your lot. -Isaiah 57:6
“Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit,” Elisha replied. -2 Kings 2:9
“To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit.” - 1 Chronicles 16:18
He who is the Portion of Jacob is not like these, for he is the Maker of all things, including the people of his inheritance—the LORD Almighty is his name. -Jeremiah 51:19
“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” -Lamentations 3:24
The LORD will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land and will again choose Jerusalem. -Zechariah 2:12
The reality is that I have done these writings as blog posts prior to the week that I am presently sharing. So, for example, Emmanuel, was for the week of Christmas, and this one with God as My Portion, was really from last week. So in actuality, I really should wait and do these the week that it is posting, so you are able to see my GRATEFUL heart 2 God 4 who He is in the week this posts for you to read (does this make any sense to you?)
In Sarah Young's devotional, "Jesus Calling: Enjoying PEACE in His Presence" (which I always missed before because everyone refers to this just as "Jesus Calling". But for me, this year, it's the KEY, it's my one Word, so it is essential to me ~ PEACE in His Presence and in my daily existence, living that PEACE as His Light to others. See how this new one Word is a continuance of last year's LIGHT.)... anyways, on January 3rd, Sarah started out with this:
"REFRESH YOURSELF in the Peace of My Presence. This Peace can be your portion at all times and in all circumstances ... "
with so much more in between, but then she ended with these words:
"... In Me you may have confident Peace."
Thus, it became the FOCUS for my gratitude as I ASKED God to reveal Himself to me as My Portion. Then as I tried to be STILL and hear Him SPEAK as I SOAKED, He began to pour out His Spirit showing me that "God is My Portion" and what this means to me, in my life now ... I have linked to some references below (frankly some, a little too heavy at times for my meager brain but provides good substance and meat when I can focus, however the 1st one turned on a light for me - ah - and the 3rd one struck a chord in me). My favorite: another WordPress blogger.
"... Oh to sell all that we have, to relinquish all that hinders and obscures His purposes in us, to release ourselves completely like a little child falling into his father's arms behind him. ..."
Followed by the part that hits "home" and wonderful questions to really consider and reflect on:
"... Is He alone your portion brethren? Are you content with Him alone? Is He your one true desire? Have you discovered Him as the strength of your heart and life? If all else were required of you - all that you love and hold dear - would you let it fly gladly that you might have Him, and Him alone? Is He your Infinite Supply or do you seek something elsewhere - in religion, or community perhaps, in the warm and familiar embrace of loved ones? Would you be willing - as the prophet Jeremiah - to be hated by the entire world - such that you would enter into the Love and Blessing of the Eternal God?..." Wayne, Living Walk
From these portions above and all that follows especially his points on end times and his prayer, I knew that God directed my eyes to read and soak in this well written content. Yes, Heavenly Father, Abba, this is my prayer too as You are my Portion, open the gates of heaven as I stand ready and in agreement with LW's prayer. I cannot Thank You enough as You help me to release and let go to know You and experience You as My Portion. Amen!
“You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”
"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God You are the strength of my heart and my portion forever"

Give thanks to God
as Your Portion
in whatever way
or
Name
He is to you this week!
I must return to Sarah Young's devotional as I close today, from what I read on Jan. 7th (this week) that confirms my decision to pursue God through this "GRATEFUL 2/4 GOD" plan!
"IT IS IMPOSSIBLE
TO PRAISE or THANK
ME
(being GOD speaking)
TOO MUCH."
followed later one with
"... THANKFULNESS, also
is a royal road to draw near to Me.
A thankful heart has plenty of room.
When you thank Me for the many pleasures
I provide, you affirm that
I am God ...
"... when adversity strikes and you thank Me anyway,
your trust in my Sovereignty is a showpiece in invisible realms ... "
F: Focus on a name of God A: Ask God in prayer to reveal Himself as that name S: Stillness. Be still and listen to God Speak to you in His Word or as you Soak in His Presence T: Thank Him and Tell. Say it out loud, give a Testimony for how He is this to you or you need Him to be this now.
Just write on being grateful 2 God 4 who He is!
(as a prayer of gratitude)
Please tell us in the comments your response for the week to ...
"I'm grateful to God as my ... " because ... or "I'm grateful for God's ... (quality) because ... (Scripture would be nice if ya' got one in your head, or just come back, the blog's always here even when I'm not) or better yet you can write a prayer to Him right in my comments of how you experience God as that Name or quality of God
I am grateful for God's presence...that He is real and alive and not some statue sitting in a temple somewhere...
Lord, I love You and thank You for Your very real presence in my life...as life's challenges come rolling in, You assure me You are always near and all I have to do is call...I love when I can see Your presence...in Your creation, Your word, and Your children...I love when I can touch Your presence...whether it's a special "feather", a hug from a praying sister, or the miracle of a baby...and I am in awe of the times I can feel your presence...with arms raised in worship, at an "on-time" word from a brother or sister, when my heart is overwhelmed and You reach down from that Rock and pull me up, and especially when it's just You and me...and the Holy Spirit pours that warm oil and I know my Redeemer lives...praise the Lord!
Most of the time, I have COMMENTS CLOSED now, except some SONdays and when I forget or when I need your participation, but your REACTIONSare welcome always instead (see my kinda explanationhere). You will not see the word "comments" at the end when they are closed so just check a REACTION, thanks! My Linky expired so I no longer have that available.
Here's why I've CLOSED COMMENTS in part:
On 1/24/12 my LAPTOP CRASHED, so I'm unable to SIGN IN to it, locked out, frozen. Think God's trying to tell me some thing? like less time online?
Knowing little of what's wrong or for how long, I'll try to check what I can from a public cyber, tho' I can't do that daily or for hours like I'm use to doing. I'm very limited in what I can get done.I'm sure I'll need a new computer rather than repair this or buy one here but I don't see that happening in these next 2 yrs. before I'm back home in USA. I'll be thinking and praying for you! Love y'all, keep praying and please don't forget me. God bless!
I am grateful for God's peace and provision, that He is my portion. Thank you, Peggy.
