"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." ~ from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

I did a book review of
"FERVENT"
here
back in 2015
{there are some other blog posts about this too}
Priscilla Shirer
is
Powerful
So is her book
and the movie
"War Room"

This is another one of those books that I received to read and review then it expires and I can no longer read my copy but because the author and this book are so good and the topic being "prayer" is one of my pet peeves {did I use that right?}

well, anyhow

I got me my own copy at Amazon at a great deal! (kinda) but because that I need 2 other books for "...aMazing..."
I kinda wished I had waited

 You can too and join the
Book Club

{frankly, I thought since Holley's releasing her new book, that it was going to be hers}

but they already had done
"You're Already Amazing"
so I guess they chose another fabulous one

Oh, now I spoiled my next blog post

"aMazing..."

(oh, well)
coming soon

 2 Book Clubs
in March
that's
too many
two good ones
which one shall
I we do?

{maybe I'll have to just follow along incognito in both}

and
I was so ready to
march with you
in March

{we'll just have to see how the schedules look}

TAKING a LEAP ...

[I know, I know ... I've already posted one blog for today (that's why I posted this one later in the day) ... so what's this with another additional one? I just could not pass up this additional day in the month and the year without adding a special one especially after reading Sharon's  which led me off on this 'wild goose chase' after reading all her research on the day that sent me off on this tangent, without even being able to comment on hers (sigh) speechless (me? not really) This just sprang into my head and I had to just go with it while I can.]

TAKING A LEAP

[image credit]

... of FAITH? or what?

Honestly, I wondered what God wanted me to do with this, so I explored ('googled') and found some pretty interesting articles, series, sites, etc. I really liked this one, but was not about to start another journey into "glimpses of Godliness for today's woman"-this woman(me)has enough reading and stuff on her plate for now-thank you very much; after all, I'm in a time of 'rest' {yeah, right} - OK (recuperation, restoration, renewal - CHANGE) {yeah, now that's more feasible than 'rest' or 'being still'}. However, Kay Daigle made some inspiring points! and reminded me of Peter's leap (well, kinda) of faith in Matt. 14.

"Take the leap of faith straight into the arms of Jesus!"

{I saw this statement more than once in Kay's, here and here}

Since I truly believe this, believe in God and believe what He says, believe in His existence, believe and accept the Bible, believe in salvation in Jesus, believe in God's promises and that He keeps them, perhaps it was not a "leap of ... " faith that God was pointing me toward, but another "leap" ... as in other 'leap' expressions like: take the leap, leap in the dark, by leaps and bounds, look before you leap ... because I really could not see God whispering anything to me about my faith ... or was He?

Then I open my emails and receive my very timely LOOP from Jennifer Camp {you really need to sign up for these if you haven't by now, but then what would I share from my wonderful emails? or visit LOOP on FB or her Facebook, if you have one} and I went back and read the previous ones again ... "What You Might Take for Granted(not sure these links will work) "You’re Not Made to be Alone" so here's a bit more of this one ...

[image credit: Jennifer Camp]

"I call you back. I call you back, into my arms. Don’t doubt what I’ve made, how I’ve made you. Stay close to Me. Hear my voice, where light falls in shadows, where noise rises and you aren’t sure how you could ever truly hear Me. You hear Me. I am near. ..." ..."You're Not Made to Be Alone" by Jennifer Camp {since this is the 2nd time this comes up, maybe I was suppose to share this one in its entirety}

So You Want to Be Someone Different?

“You shall have no other gods before me” (Exodus 20:3).

"Let’s do something different. Let’s have you pretend you are someone different, someone completely different than whom I have made. You can decide your appearance, your personality, your strengths. You can decide your quirks, your special hidden talents. You can decide what makes you unique, valued, worthy. You can decide what it means to be a woman I am delighted to look on and call precious, adored, daughter.

Do you see her? Do you hear her? Can you grasp the picture you’ve created, this imaginary girl concocted in your head?

Is she all you want her to be? Don’t leave anything out. Write her out. Imagine her. Is she so different from you? Is she like you or the opposite of everything I’ve made you to be?

How is her worth measured? How did you decide to write her eyes the way you did, or make her laugh like that, or have her get things done so quickly, so efficiently, so perfectly? Who is this girl-woman you’ve created whom you worship and think I love more than I could ever, possibly, love you?

Why do you worship this pretend self you wish existed rather than Me?

She needs to be destroyed now, you know. She needs to be thrown into the fire, where all lies need to be sent to be destroyed, for good. This imaginary girl you’ve created in your head is not the daughter I have crafted with my two hands. She is not the woman I have born with my breath and designed, in all your wondrous and perfect beauty, to be.

Throw down this lie you chase that makes you strive towards imaginary perfection. You will not receive my joy, my peace, my life in you that sustains if you continue to chase what is not meant for you to attain. Who are you to decide what it means to be desired, perfected, worthy? Who are you to shun what I’ve made and desire something different?

Let me show you this daughter of mine. Let Me show you the beauty of her, the joy she brings Me, the strength in her to love just the way I’ve made her to love, to work with the passions I’ve given her to use. She is mighty when she knows who and whose she is and abandons all idols that bring distraction to this life I’ve given her, distractions that bring death to her heart.

For I bring life, my daughter. I bring you life. And this life I bring you is in you. I am in you. You are my delight and the one I sing over and never, ever want to leave."
Current LOOP devotional from Jennifer Camp; Song

After all is said and done, or in this case, written out,
I think God may have been speaking to me about this 'leap':

"To go for something- to take one's chances on something."
{there's actually books written about this}

Is there a
LEAP
that God is asking you to take?

Leap into His arms

Listen
Expectantly-Empathize

Pray Purposefully
{couldn't make up my mind}

"...It’s not a matter of our being able to leap out in any situation. We step out only at His command. But when Jesus calls us to come, we can leap with confidence because He will catch us! Once we know God’s will, we step out in confidence, even when our faith is small, because we know that God has the power to accomplish His will.

And let me say this: sometimes we leap and stay right where we are. Sometimes we don’t change anything about our lives or circumstances, but we leap to the safety of Jesus’ arms in the midst of a tough situation. We leap, telling Him that we trust Him to move right there.
Leaping is scary, and our tendency is to stay where it’s safe. But Peter alone experienced walking on water because he alone had the faith to do it. Although he got scared and starting going under, Peter did walk on the water!..." Kay Daigle, "Take a Leap of Faith"

"LOVE EXPRESSED" ENDING

I have really enjoyed this month of February with the series "Love Expressed" from Gateway Church, mostly because it was focused on Worship ...

"...It’s commonly known that worship is an integral part of the Christian life. But what exactly is worship? Some define it as a song; others describe it as a lifestyle. But the simplest and most accurate definition is “love expressed.” - See more at: Gateway Devotions

I love this as the definition of "worship" - "Love Expressed"!

because
for me
that
is
exactly
what my worship
IS

an expression of my LOVE for God and actually
His LOVE for me

I'm grateful that even though
February is ending
I have a few more devotionals to go
{if you have not been following along with this, you might want to go back to the original post I did back here and/or check out the main site HERE}

I'm going to really miss the way this devotional series is done
and how I enjoyed waking up to turn this on
to read, listen and worship
because it was such a
great way to start
each day in
LOVE

but
just because I did this
I can't tell you that my days were filled
with so much more
LOVE
in fact
often it was just the opposite
{that's exactly the way the enemy works to steal what was planted or seeded}

yet
I do take away
some very precious times
with Our LORD
and
hope I can find a way to continue this

So, I looked at the other devotionals available at Gateway, and at the moment, none of them really struck me {although I am considering doing at least one of them to keep this method, their style going ... of reading the verse, then clicking on the player to listen to a "worship song" followed by the devotional being read with a prayer and further study available, because I am able to do this on my Smart TV, which makes this even more "sweet" ... more volume and size}

I was hoping that I would be able to select one of these 31 Days as my favorite, yet every day was special in its own way ... however, let me just say that each day was better than the one before because my heart was more in-tune and ready to HEAR; yet I am thinking the last two after these last days of February (Day 28Day 29) will quite possibly BE the BEST. Just look at their titles!!!

"TO KISS A KING"
Day 30

"PRACTICING ETERNITY"
Day 31

"a taste of heaven
is waiting
for YOU"

Practice Eternity (every day).

Worship the King!

"The King is Among Us"
Elevation Worship
"You are Greater"
[is the song Gateway has for Day 31]

VERSE "We are just discovering You, gazing at a partial view

We are just enjoying You, gazing at a wondrous view

CHANNEL

Like a child staring into space, that’s how we see Your grace

Like a child playing in the waves, flowing from seas of grace

Grander that what we understand

Deeper than what we understand

Standing amazed by You, that’s when we see the truth

Your love for us never ends

CHORUS:

You are greater, You are greater, than any love we know, we want to know You more

We lift You higher, we lift You higher, we give up what we know,

We only want to know You more

BRIDGE:

Oh God, reveal Your love for us

Oh God, reveal Your love to us

Oh God, reveal Your love for us never ends"

O GOD

REVEAL YOUR LOVE

Beloved Name

{yes, the following should/could be a separate post but I want to keep these together}

So here is a LOOP devotional from
Jennifer Camp
that goes well with this
LOVE EXPRESSED

{it was difficult choosing between this one and "You're Not Made to Be Alone"}
"... You are designed to be loved...And I love you perfectly and completely..."
What I Want to Show you (in your Story)

“ For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11).

Daughter, you can listen for Me. You can seek for Me. And you’ll find Me, right here.

I am right here.

You can work hard to find Me, search pages in your Bible, soak up my truth, study scripture and memorize passages until you know them by heart. But I want you to know Me by heart, my love. I want you to know that the women and men in the Bible, my daughters and sons, were my children whom I loved and pursued and wanted to be with, just like I do you. They are not unfamiliar to you. Their stories, their mistakes, their trials, are yours too. And that is why I wrote them down. For I want you to see Me and where I was and where I am and be encouraged.

But there are pages being written now, my love, pages of story with you as the protagonist. You are the center of the story I am writing with you. And you get to decide, so much, of what happens. You get to work with Me in the shaping of your story, the rise and fall of the details of your life.

No, you don’t have control over it all. No, you can’t change the setting sometimes, or the other characters with whom you interact. For sometimes I bring those people in and these events into your life, for you to see Me more, love Me and pour Me out a bit more. But you do choose how to enter into your story, or how to dismiss opportunities I bring, reject people you could love. You have a say in what you do within the story. You have a say in whom you love and whom you don’t love, in where you go and what you do with your time.

Oh, your story, my love. . . Do you see it written out? Do you see my fingerprints upon the page? I love looking at it, all the good that has happened, all the places in you where I want to bring hope, all the places in you that still need healing, still need freedom. There are places in you where you still need to see where I was, how I loved you in each place of heartache, disappointment, and pain.

So, let me show you the story of your life through my eyes. I have some new things to show you, some rises and falls you have not yet seen. And it’s good. I will show you the places where I come, with my presence and my hope and my love, to make it good.

Does this sound good? Let’s look, together, at your story.

With LOVE,
Your King

"... CHARIOT of WORSHIP"

Yes, "Chariots of Worship" not "Chariots of Fire"
but they both kinda stand for the same power

[I had my S.O.S. ready to post at 6 p.m. tonight and I had to move it to SONday S.O.S. (where it really belongs) as we Soak On SONday in the Son of God, the King of kings, Our Lord Jesus Christ ...but when I opened to today's "Love Expressed" devo...]

and read
Day 27

"The Victorious Chariot of Worship"

I just love the image that came to mind as I read that title
(especially after reading Beth Moore's article I highlighted this past Mon.(M.O.M.)
and in lieu of
an upcoming
Book Club
{upcoming post but I don't want to give too much away}

I was compelled to share this
so you would not miss it
{it has a better effect if you click over and listen to the actual message}
beginning with the song
"Walls"

"...We are daughters and sons, Singing as one, We’ve got a hope now, Walls have tried to divide, But nothing can hide The power that we’ve found, You are walking with us, And all of the walls Are turning to dust, They are falling down..."
- See more at: Walls
..."We sing praise ‘Til enemies know how faithful You are, oh God"..

with my previous post of
"GRACE and HOPE"

the sequence just seems to fit

2 Chronicles 20

Jehoshaphat's Prayer

I love the devotional ... but this is what stands out

... "The Bible often refers to chariots as symbols of great power reserved for kings (Psalm 68:17Isaiah 66:15Jeremiah 17:25).

In the same way, our worship is a powerful chariot in that it’s a vehicle that ushers in the presence of our King—Jesus Christ. In Matthew 18, Jesus said: “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20, NKJV). How incredible is that! When we gather together to worship, Jesus Himself shows up in our midst! "...

"Christ is looking for a volunteer army that will stretch forth His strong scepter of authority, ruling in the midst of their enemies, enforcing His great victory. So, once again, did He place all other authorities under foot or do we? Yes! He did; we enforce. He conquered Satan and his kingdom; we enforce the victory." Dutch Sheets,  "Intercessory Prayer: How God Can Use Your Prayers to Move Heaven and Earth"

DUTCH SHEETS
"Father, thank You for the power we have in worship through the Holy Spirit to be an offensive weapon in spiritual warfare. Help us to be bold and take action against the Enemy in our lives and in the lives of others, knowing that we fight from victory not for victory. In Christ, the battle has already been won! Thank You, Father! In Jesus’ name, Amen." Love Expressed, day 27
AMEN!
our glorious triumphant

KING

deserves all our praise and worship

All Glory and Honor is His

All authority is His

Thank You Lord

that this battle is already

won by You!

Hallelujah!

{which goes with this last worship song I listened to yesterday}

what I've begun reading once again a Christian Classic

"Interior Castle"
by
(Saint) Teresa of Avila
(my patron saint, chosen by me, for my Catholic confirmation in 3rd grade)
Maybe more on this at another time
as well as
more from "Interior Castle"

MORE PASSION ... "GRACE and HOPE"

If I have this figured out correctly or have not fallen behind in my Lent devotionals, we are already on Day 15 of 40 days. {at the time I am writing this Dr. Alicia Britt Chole posted Day 11 from her "40 Days of Decrease"}.

It was at this time, I discovered when perusing through my emails of the day, that TPT (The Passion Translation) sent me one from the following book, that I had forgotten I had ... and should have been enjoying or reading along during this Lent:

"GRACE and HOPE"

Isn't this what we look forward to at the end of this journey?

I know I do!

Both of these Words were "My One Word" for previous years
2015 and 2014
{each year until this one, I knew for sure what One Word God was speaking
to me for me}
however I am content with
"BE" and "CHANGE"
{for the "change" is for me "to be" not do}

Yet thanks to these TPT "Whispers" twice a week, I am intently listening to HEAR God (which I also thought was a One Word at one time) ... so this is what I heard/ actually read in this 'whisper'

"Jesus became one of us and lived our life in order to experience our death, so that he could break the power of death and our chains of sin. This is what we reflect upon and celebrate during the season of Lent and Easter. This is the HOPE we have!

We hope this "whisper" helps bring you into the Easter season, a time of to personally reflect upon Christ's sacrifice for us and celebrate the the victorious king come again to put the world to rights! Keep reading for a great new The Passion Translation.
"

 Brian Simmons and Your TPT team

I HEAR HIS WHISPER...

"Hope"

"I am the One who gives you hope in your darkest hour. The victory of your soul will be found as you hope in Me. Come to the fountain of hope and drink this day. For the days to come require that your eyes are washed with my hope and mercy. Many see a storm cloud on the horizon and lose their way. But you will see the storm cloud that Ezekiel saw, bringing you hope for a new day.

Within the storm you will find Me, living and breathing out hope. In the midst of the fire I will stand and you will see Me with new eyes. You are an overcomer. I have seen you stand up when others have fallen. Hope has sustained you, and My love has carried you. I am breathing My breath of hope into your soul this day.

You will never carry your burdens alone. I am with you always and I will lift from your soul what troubles you. Come and look upon My face and you will see the birth of hope within you. When you feel you are in a battle with no place to turn, I am your Captain, the Warrior-King who will fight for you. There is hope waiting for you, even in the heat of battle.

Hope is like a bright light to illuminate your way. In your darkness, hope shines until it has consumed your fears. I will always be faithful to you, My child. As I look into your future I see victory, joy, and promises fulfilled. What do you see when you look into the days ahead? Wash your eyes in my fountain of hope and you will see what I see.

Now you have risen into the next level of hope. Keep stirring the fires of expectation within your soul. I will never disappoint those who hope in Me. Even as you have opened your heart to Me I too open My heart to you. Come into your resting place, O prisoner of hope, and I will show you many things you have never even imagined. I AM the God of hope, and soon, very soon, your every enemy will be defeated. Still your soul, rest in Me, and hope will be birthed within you. "

"Romans 15:13 The Passion Translation

"Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in Him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope!"

I got caught up on the readings from this beautiful book "Grace and Hope" of each daily reading right up until the current day, and not any of the other ones I'm reading or have shared here, as much as I am enjoying each one of these Lenten devotional, touched me and spoke to my heart like "Grace and Hope".

Brian Simmons certainly has a gift of flowing in God's Spirit and much compassion and Passion as he writes or gives us a modern day translation that grips us at the core. So far in this devotional, which gives me an over-all sense of the different books of the Bible that Brian has finished translating, I have read from the following passages now in The Passion Translation and find such depth of God's love in each one:

Psalm 51:1-14
John 1:14-17
John 1:29-34
John 1:35-42
Psalm 80:3-7
Hebrews 2:14-18
Hebrews 3:12-15
Hebrews 4:14-16
Hebrews 9:11-15
Hebrews 10:11-18
Psalm 65:1-5
Romans 1:16-20
Romans 3:21-26
Romans 4:18-25
Romans 5:1-2, 6-10

... and the titles of the devotionals are just as inspirational ...
 {the one given above is not in this 40 days of "Grace and Hope"}

My favorite part, as you know by now with me, is the:

 Prayer

Lenten Prayer
"... to help guide you through this Holy season of
self-reflection and self-denial,
prayer and fasting,
repentance
and
remembrance
all to prepare you for the hopeful words
"It is finished!
and the even more wondrous words
"He is risen!"
..."

at the end of each day's reading like this one for Day 12

"Jesus, as I consider the bad news of my story, I am comforted by the good news of Yours. This day I stand in the power of Your gospel, knowing that through it,
I am loved, forgiven, liberated and at peace! Amen!

[image credit: TPT]

[although this is not an official book review, I highly recommend this Lent and Easter devotional book or any of Brian Simmons' books, for you or anyone wanting to kindle a burning passionate desire for Him and His heart with this modern version of God's Word while impacting the Church for years to come. I have found reading this version "from the passion of God's heart to the passion of my own  heart" to trigger an overwhelming response to the truth of the Bible. Although the "Whispers of His Heart" so far is my favorite, I have not read one that I have not liked and heard God's passion in every Word!] I got mine through Amazon in ebooks at a really great price! {for last Christmas} I should have focused on just this one for this Lent!

But I'm still enjoying "Love Expressed"!

"Decrease"
is a little bit harder

and
for now
"AHA"
has been put aside on hold
{yes, it's another "change" challenge but at this time,
it has not captured my devoted attention like others}
maybe I am balking at the AHA CHANGE
Day 9 "Redeeming the Pain", however, caught my attention
but sent me off on a tangent
in another direction with another book cited that I have in waiting

Too many books
(naw, that can never be, says the children librarian in me)
not enough time
(perhaps, though I'm hardly as busy as I should be)
not enough stamina anymore
(that's for sure or is it reading from a screen that gets me?)

Must just
BE
that scatter brain me
here and there
in every direction
