"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." ~ from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

WALK On WEDS.

I do realize that I mentioned on Monday
that this was in lieu of a
"Walk On Weds."
but as it looks that this published
clearly I lied
{I'm sorry}
[this is not my usual way because most of the time, I am painfully honest]

By now, most of you know me
that I love my "Walks On Weds." that allow me
time to reflect and share
while I walk with God in the
Gardens of GRACE

***

So this is kinda like a 2nd Part of last week's "WALK"
{in case you missed that I admitted in the comments that I did not go "sketching on the beach"}
and also
Sharon's "Watching a Miracle Unfold"

... because I feel like I have loose ends to tie up and make more connections

... because I did not answer Sharon's question at the end of her fabulous "miracle" happening

... because I stored away alot of photo images from my walk last week

... because I love watching God continue to unwrap and unravel throughout my time online
and most importantly with
GOD

... because for me,

this is how Miracles unravel and unfold

when I wander from one place to another without knowing the final destination point
{another place I'll be sharing on "Friday Focus"}

but GOD does

HE
already has it laid out and planned
just like Sharon's Domino effect of "it just happens" leading up to
prayers answered on her, her family's and her mom's behalf

... because
God cares for her

and us

enough to allow

MIRACLES

to still happen

and I especially love that Sharon resolved to do more than

Praise and Thank God

then Sharon Shared 7 things more

... because Sharon wants to do more
so do I, along with her ...

... I want this Divine Intervention to infuse my faith with more faith.

I want it to make a difference in how I trust God.

I want it to deepen my understanding of God's faithfulness.

I want it to bring me peace as I face other turmoil in my life.

I want to KNOW more than ever, that God is in control, that He still sits on His throne, that His ways are wise and good and timely.

I want to believe…

THESE ARE GREAT STEPS
to deepen the
THANKS and PRAISE
for any
MIRACULOUS EXPERIENCE
with
God

and
the reason that I did not answer Sharon's question as I usually attempt to do,
of whether I have witnessed a
MIRACLE
besides that GREAT One of the Bridge above

is
... because ...
I'm sure that I have witnessed many
BIG and SMALL
MIRACLES
yet I have never taken the time or the steps
to notice and give God the glory
as Sharon shared and we all should
like the 10 Lepers
I usually at least give "thanks" however
I don't realize that
THIS
indeed is/was a
MIRACLE
and
I overlook the simple
beautiful
every day
MIRACLES
in life and of life

... because ...
I'm too caught up or stuck in the muck and mire of the
other 'stuff', the mundane, conflicts, problems,
disappointments, troubles, worldly woes

{you get my drift}

so

I ask
{googled}

Why do we miss the miracles in life?

although I did not get this question specifically answered

I encountered some really wonderful articles like

How to Live Your Life as if Everything is a Miracle

How to Receive a Miracle Part 1 & Part 2

How God Works Behind the Scenes to Position You for Miracles

How to Create Daily Miracles

God Still Performs Miracles

I guess just waking up each day
{especially with old age creeping in

with a fresh breath from God

is all the

MIRACLE

I need

and

I will start counting each one

taking time to notice

... because I

"Don't [Want to] Miss the Miracles In the Storm"

[or not in the storm - my inserts]

"Living in this broken world can easily harden our hearts to the joy and peace and miracles God gives us each day." New Spring Church
I know I do not want my heart to harden!

***

So what did I do last week instead of venturing out to the beach in temps that were reported "to feel like" 104 degrees, just to sketch ??? {insert "crazy" signal pointing to self}

[This is as brief of a summary as I can compose]

I started out by searching and watching videos on an International Faith Art community (here and there on their site and related sites, since I did not take time to sign up and register to have more access) and Art Journaling (totally new concept to me). Then I had a brainstorm idea of "Biblical Gardens" (which was really interesting and I was even able to download some coloring pages but no printer so I dabbled with sketching some) which led me to Seashells ... and I have plenty of them collected to assemble or draw and I can always get more ... yet these Garden images using Seashells ... really inspired me. Have you ever really noticed the beauty and design of a seashell?

Nature's filled with
MIRACLES

{and others interspersed above}

I also listened to many of Joan Sebastian's songs and watched the videos of him with his horses ... even in MN.

I discovered some reading plans from "GRIEF Bites" at You Version and their site, which I am doing on a personal, private level to "find treasures in hardships" and "grow through grief ..." because I'm really hoping to GROW, not just go through the valley whenever some occasion just happens and my heart remembers ...  ever so nearly, dearly and fondly ... of each MIRACLE in every person that crosses my life (REAL and VIRTUAL): I have been so blessed!

that alone is a

MIRACLE

of the connections and encounters

God designs and makes

possible

for

HIS PURPOSE

* not completely finished tying up all my loose ends but a little closer ... and I feel a bit better in the midst of lingering grief ... I'm working on it ...

YEE HAW ~ Day 40

You Expect EnJoyment

YEE
HAW

[Hope Always Works]

Godly Characteristics and Lessons
we need to be trained as Christians
like a horse or through a horse

Day 40
Scripture: Habakkuk 2:3
(GNTD)

"For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it testifies about the end and will not lie. Though it delays, wait for it, since it will certainly come and not be late." GNTD

"Horses are creatures of habit ..."

... so begins Pauline in today's devotion ... I would like to add that many of us have become or easily settle to being "creatures of habit" as well. Yet Pauline explains quite well, how a horse depends on the routine that an owner sets, especially as regards their eating/feeding time. They are at the gate, ready and waiting; some more patiently than others ... and they remain for quite a while, if for some reason, the owner delays in the schedule, the impatient ones may paw or pace, before giving up and returning to graze in the pasture. They rely on their owner feeding them and their internal clock kicks in to let them know it's time.

I simply love how Pauline has made the spiritual connection for us when God asks us to wait:

"He expects us to trust that He is coming and will not be late. He doesn’t want us to go back into the world and give up on His return. He is on His way and will not be late, even if He doesn’t arrive at the time we think He should." ~Pauline Creeden

I looked at this as applies to answers to prayers, our timing and God's timing, which of course, is perfect (although often we think it's never coming, or far too late). Not too often, do we think of the Lord is tarrying for a specific reason and perhaps waiting for all the pieces to be in place. Often I think, it's a test of my patience (or lack, my impatience). I paw and pace like many a horse. It's time for me to put away these childish (or horsey) behaviors and learn to confidently trust and wait.

This scripture passage is direct confirmation that the wait is well worth it! God's timing and plan are perfect!

* I know I have ended this before Lent is over but this is Holy Week (Semana Santa) a powerful and busy opportunity time here on the "mission" outreach and evangelism ... so it was on purpose ... and it happened this way because SONdays are not included in the 40 day count, and I continued with this devotional each day including SONdays in order to be trained and equipped better for this upcoming week and God's plan and purpose. Let God use you this week to bring HOPE!

You Expect EnJoyment

YEE
HAW

[Hope Always Works]

Godly Characteristics and Lessons

like a horse or through a horse

Day 37
Scripture: Exodus 8:22 (NIV)

In today's devotion, Pauline compares all the blood sucking barn/stable flies that annoy horses and us with the way our worries plague us. I do differ, in part, with Pauline in this one, while also agreeing with her that the way we, as believers in Jesus deal with our worries should set us apart from the world and their worries. She wrote that "the lack of worry should show the difference between those who know Him and those who don't."  I know Him and I know others who do as well, yet we struggle with worry. The last paragraph of today's explains this better (but alas I'm not able to copy it all and place it here as I'd like to do but doing my best to add it).

"This is one of the ways  that we are to be different from the rest of the world... "Pauline Creeden "...(*below in green)

I do agree that just like horses we are plagued with swarms of worries, especially in these days; many of the same worries that plague so many,
*..."but our trust is in Jesus
laying our worries at His feet
will cause the swarms to leave us alone.
They will not bother us."

{that's the part I'm not so sure of}

I (and the horse) don't need
NO BLOOD SUCKING
plagues
or
anything that attempts to drag me down
{maybe I missed Pauline's point}
However, I most certainly agree that because we know Jesus, and that He will help us to carry our cares, that we most certainly have an assurance that the world without Jesus does not have! I could not live without Him!

Day 36
Scripture: Psalm 34:8 (NKJV)

"Oh taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him"

Great verse to hold on to today or any day!

This one today is on "stomachs" ...

"Spiritually, we are a lot like the horse. Whatever we take in, good or bad, tends to stay inside us. The good things bring us closer to God, while the bad drive us further away."
Pauline Creeden continues to point out: "In this Scripture, God wants us to know that we can take Him in, and trust that He is always good for us. Even better is that when we take Him in, He heals us from all the bad stuff we consumed in the past. He heals us from the damage of our past. He is only waiting for us to taste and see."
Taking Him in and trusting!
Tasting and seeing how good God is
even when it hurts

HAW

[Hope Always Works]

Godly Characteristics and Lessons

Day 35
Scripture: 2 Chronicles 20:17

"You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’ ” "

Pauline reminds us today how a horse in the wild that standtos still for too long quite likely becomes prey for predators, and how this carries over to the training of a tame horse, with that fidgeting and constant need for motion, the uneasiness that causes the horse's movement to be incessant, so thus the need to train the horse with a rider to stand still, knowing that at first it will be for seconds, than minutes and finally longer periods of time, as the horse learns to trust the rider to be on guard for both of them. Then the horse can relax under the rider's control. (my, how I can empathize with the horse and this intrinsic need and really sympathize as well with not wanting to wait or trust, just standing still, when we know it could mean "we is sitting ducks" or "prey" ... as we pray for a victory or whatever is weighing heavily on us.) However ...

"The battle is the Lord’s. He doesn’t ask us to do much more than pray, have faith, and stand still to wait for Him. As we learn to wait, He will start with short periods. Eventually the wait time is extended so that we can learn patience and trust in or God. This is a sign that our own relationship with God is becoming stronger as we grow in our faith."Pauline Creeden

LOVE THIS and really needed THIS today!
{my husband goes back to see 2 doctors Weds. to note his progress in recovery. Please keep him in your prayers, thanks}

YEE
HAW

[Hope Always Works]

Godly Characteristics and Lessons

like a horse or through a horse

Day 34
Scripture: Deuteronomy 3:24-25
(NKJV)

"“Sovereign Lord, you have begun to show to your servant your greatness and your strong hand. For what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do the deeds and mighty works you do?  25 Let me go over and see the good land beyond the Jordan—that fine hill country ... "(NIV)

Here's a brief glimpse at the beginning of Pauline's devotional for today:

"There are some horses that seem to be “born broke.” This means that they take little to no effort to train to become rideable. Then there is the horse that bucks, shies, rears, resists steering, resists the rider’s leg, and refuses to carry a rider’s weight willingly. Eventually, through a patient and consistent trainer who is sensitive to the horse’s needs, the “rogue” will come around. ..."Pauline Creeden

Pauline goes on to compare this to us with "sin" and the consequences of them ...

"...If you are under Christ, you may not be punished FOR your sin anymore, but you might still be punished BY your sin. Sin leaves scars, and sometimes they never heal."Pauline Creeden

How very true these words have been in my life ... freed from sin and punishment, but continually I see the consequences of my poor choices and scars from those of others that have affected or impacted me ... like the "rogue horse" Pauline describes, "a lot of damage can be done before the horse is gentled ..." (mine I believe happened, then I was gentled or sensitive and now I am hardening a bit) ... as Pauline wrote that "the act of bucking (I've done that) and shying (hmmm) puts unnecessary strain (it sure does) on his back and joints" or "his mouth may become sore (ouch) from his resistance ... lasting scars", Pauline continues that the rider did not intend this to punish the "rogue" but the horse's own actions caused the pain and injury ... as it has been with me and the training in my life, the discipline or consequences of decisions and choices. I am living proof of this one and the unintentional pain and injury that results, no matter how many times it's confessed, or repented, or tried to make better, there's really no undoing the past, but hoping to make better choices and decisions for the future, overlook the pain or injury by receiving the healing God makes available and using the lessons learned to help others or yourself to live more victoriously. I appreciate the lesson of this loving discipline from God but not so much from other humans. Must be that unconditional LOVE that God mixes in as He trains us ...

HAW

[Hope Always Works]

Godly Characteristics and Lessons

like a horse or through a horse

Day 33
Scripture: Proverbs 12:10
(GNTD)

"A righteous man regards the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel."

Personal Note added here:

The good news for me on this precious SONday, upon my return to Mexico, I contemplated facing the loss of my "Chiquitita", I discover once again how good God is, because she is not dead, she is alive (not sure that I shared on my blog that while in MN, I misunderstood that one of my 4 dogs had died, she was not, but God had her hidden in His cleft (in a corner of their room behind some things) ... so I do regard the "life of animals" as a God given blessing ... and I am thankful for the mercies of God that are above all wickedness and cruelty. Sent emails to some of you ... to explain that Chiqui was not resurrected from the dead but was in hiding ... and giving God the glory for protecting even the smallest creations as significant.

However, my van is dead! I thought it was just a drained battery but saw nothing left on, so then I opened the hood to discover that my battery cables had been cut and my van's entire battery stolen, but the enemy has not won ... I will still celebrate my SONday anyways, soaking in Him and all His magnificent glory after glory!!! Hallelujah anyhow ... for one's life, even an animal's life.

This perhaps is not what is meant by this Proverb, nor the devotional by Pauline for today ... however, this is ...

HOPE and an anchor, when we press on in faith in Jesus

Day 27
Scripture: Jeremiah 6:16
 (NIV)

NOTE: For now, on the upcoming posts, I just have the scripture (when the title reads the day and has "scripture only") until the final day, because this is all I had prepared from Pauline Creeden's book (and I don't have access to it here, right now).

I have flown home in MN for an emergency and am not able to attend to these but hope to come back and fill them in later when I can. So for now ... Day 27-32, 34-39 have nothing more than scripture. Day 33 and Day 40 have additional parts from me. Also I have a Great HOLY WEEK planned! I do not know how long I will be in MN or return, but I appreciate prayers whenever you remember me, for myself and my spouse. Thank you!

" This is what the Lord says:
Stand at the crossroads and look;
    ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
and you will find rest for your souls.
But you said, ‘We will not walk in it  ...

My commentary is not about horses from the devotional, but just on the Bible verse and how it corresponds with a vision from a friend of my husband that I just met the day of his surgery, as we waited and she prayed with me, she shared this.
The word that the vision and this verse share is "STAND". This is why I wanted to share about this because it struck me when the first word for this verse from the Lord once again was stand.
The vision: she (Maria de la Luz, which means Mary of the light) was in the entrance of an old church with pews and she was looking toward the front to a bright light that shone on my husband and also illuminated his face so that she could see a tear running down his cheek and she also had one; and when my husband came out of surgery in intensive care, I saw that tear run down his cheek and mine ... a softening of his heart being prepared by the Lord to receive Him as his Lord and Savior, but not yet. 2 of the 5 or more people around my husband also do not yet believe, so it's a spiritual battle and front that is constantly there. It was such a blessing for me to be with my home church family the Sunday after the surgery ... however, the first day home from the hospital, I was wiped out completely by an influenza (both ends) ... so I do need the REST spoken of in this verse ... and I am more than willing to REST.

We each may be at a Crossroad in our life,

but we need to
STAND
firm
and
STAND
solid
on the
Rock of our salvation
no matter what battle or valley we encounter

STAND
