"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." ~ from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

another kind of S.O.S. ~ (Un)invited and (Un)ashamed

over here on this blog
usually means
"Soaking On SONday"
through a Scene, or a Song, or Scripture
sometimes even a Sermon Series
and lately I've been posting them on Sat. evening at 6pm
so we can "soak" some on Sat. for SONday

but on the close of this weekend and this month
because August is already here tomorrow
which use to be an important day for us
(me and someone special)
to celebrate
have decided to share a
Surprise On Sonday
(or maybe most of you already know about these
so then you won't be quite as surprised)

On August 9th, 2016
"Uninvited: Living Loved When You Feel Less Than, Left Out, and Lonely"
will be released
(but if you pre-order it, you will receive some extra gifts)

with an Online Bible/Book Study (OBS) at Proverbs 31
Sept. 6 - Oct. 14

I plan to be sharing more on this BOOK!!!
yet you are
by me
to join Lysa or P31 OBS
to learn how to

I started with signing up for this
5 day Challenge
(you can too)
"Untangling Hurt from Your Heart"
(I'm sure this is what I need as regards no longer celebrating Aug. 1st or even acknowledging it anymore might help. Perhaps this next one will help with this.)

Loving this as God untangles my "messes" and "mazes" holding out for more "miracles" and thankful for His aMazing Grace

His Love lasts forever!

There is also another place and study that
you are being invited to be a part of
that starts even sooner on
August 15th
for 5 weeks at Faith Gateway with
Christine Caine
where we'll learn to be
{can you learn that? or maybe it's unlearn something}

I'm pretty sure the rest of her title is just as important ...

"Drop the Baggage, Pick Up Your Freedom, Fulfill Your Destiny"

that's kind of a full process, really

{I should have done this one back in May with her Book Club than I would not have so many great ones all at once and have to choose or do incompletely}

Here's the schedule for the 5 weeks with Faith Gateway

Week One (August 15-21) — Run, Don’t Hide
Week Two (August 22-28) — Today Is the Day
Week Three (August 29-September 4) — Possess Your Inheritance
Week Four (September 5-11) — God Never Wastes a Hurt
Week Five (September 12-18) — Highly Unlikely

It's not a Surprise at all that according to her video
and I think it was a Live Facebook Event -
that so many of us -
especially me, need this study of
and years after we think we're done with "shame" -wham
the enemy is so good at keeping us bound in this
or dealing with the aftermath
even if and when
you don't think
you struggle
with shame

Romans 8:1

{here's Session 1 to give you a taste of what's ahead and an excerpt}

I am so thankful that in the Kingdom of God
not only am I

Jesus Christ
made it possible for me
to not live in

{I can't believe how you can't share images even of books or anything, anymore. Hoping the ones I chose from the authors show up.}

S.O.S. ~ Stability ...

Today is a different

as I Soak on SONday

and share one from a series of messages that
I read as a You Version reading plan

"STABILITY in a Fragile World"

I began reading it back when there was quite a few shake-ups
in our ever so fragile world and mine
which lead me to believe that
is just what I need

It was only for 7 days with You Version and so that is when I decided to publish this, yet had to go this far ahead to fit it in my schedule but I am sure it will still be timely. The title alone was enough for me to choose this plan but when I read the following plan description, I knew and was sure ...

"...Life is hard. For most, it’s hard in seasons. You may be experiencing a tough season as you carry a big burden, be it financial, physical, relational, or spiritual. In the midst of all of these trials that are the suffering of life, God is faithful to carry us through."

... oh, and the rest of the title is:

"... Achieving Peace through Faith in Christ"

The plan is provided by Bobby Schuller (yes, "grandson" of Robert Schuller of the "Hour of Power" - boy, it's been way too long for me being away from USA) ... anyways, so I went to the "Hour of Power" and found this title to be one in a series of messages (in case you'd like to listen to a message from back in April of this year-2016, I've linked this to there).

Every day of this plan just spoke so beautifully and reassuringly to me. Today I am just sharing Day 1 - 1 Peter 5:6-10 is the scripture reading. You must know by now that I love short reading plans with devotionals packed with meaning and ending with a prayer (long or short) ... and this one is perfect.

{it also is what helped me find a song to go with this "Stability ..." message for S.O.S.-which means song, scripture, sermon, series, or scene (does not have to be all of them) ... in which I Soak On Sonday and this is one that I have been Saturating my mind and soul in and will continue to do so, I'm sure every time I loose that "stability" or peace, I will recall and return to this plan

"Life is hard for all of us. For some, it’s harder than for others. For most, life is hard in seasons. You may be experiencing a tough season right now as you carry a big burden – a financial burden, a health burden, a relational burden, a spiritual burden.
Other times, things may be going great in our lives, yet we feel unstable, empty, alone, lonely, broken.
In the midst of all of these trials that are the suffering of life, God is faithful to carry us through. No suffering in the kingdom of God lasts forever. I’ve never known a storm to be endless or somebody who trusts in God not to have ultimate victory over difficulties. And that is what you’re going to have today – victory through stability.
In Jesus’ name, you are a solid rock. You are a strong tree. You are filled with the very person and spirit of Jesus Christ. And you are given the authority to overcome every burden and break every chain. And, through God’s strength, you will help others do the same. "Bobby Schuller, Day 1, Stability in a Fragile World...

"Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for the strength to overcome the hardships in life. As I humble myself and cast all my burdens on You, help me to help others who are suffering as well. Amen"

Now the Scene from this Series was beautiful enough (so that image belongs to them, it's not mine) nor is this Song ... but it's one of my favorites that I sing often ...

"... the Rock"

You are my Rock

Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I

whenever your step seems to falter

whenever the season seems to be too shaken

whenever your burden seems too big

sing these words and cling to the

that gives us

strength and stability

in any

storm or suffering

W.O.W. ~ "... Resting Place" (TPT)

Since my "Walks" On Weds. keep reaching further ahead than when I receive God's Whisper and His Word [either directly from Him, my "Hearing His Voice" real devotional by Chris Tiegreen or through my precious and special emails from Jennifer Camp (LOOP) or Brian Simmons and The Passion Team (TPT)] both who I have chosen to share here in W.O.W.s (one this week and one next week) ...  I want you to know that quite often I come back to my blog posts either to update the actual post or in the comments ... so I do try to remain current, even when I work on these ahead, planning and preparing them then schedule a post in the future. That's the reason that I left days open on the weekends with S.O.S. and midweek with W.O.W. so I could, but often even in JCBC, I comment or add after they publish. Yes, I do come back and "walk" through what I've shared because often I need the "walk" again and so much desire to HEAR HIS WHISPER ... I received 2 emails (actually 4) the week of 7/14/16 and it's so hard for me to choose ahead which one I or you may need, so I ask the Holy Spirit, since as you can see, I'm a couple of weeks away from when I received more than likely a timely "whisper". Both are from two of my favorite scriptures ... so I will be sharing both from Jennifer and TPT.

I love my "Walks" but not quite as much
as I love His Whispers

"If you are weary, if you are tired, if you are feeling bare there is a place for you--resting in the peace of our Savior. Not only does God offer us strength, this replenishment is infinitely greater than what the world can provide. God is our Oasis and longs for that Him to be our resting place."Brian Simmons and TPT Team

"I am your oasis, your resting place."

"When you are weary carrying heavy burdens, I am the place of refreshing. Come to Me and join your spirit to Me and I will give you all that you need. Come and learn of Me and become one with Me in all things. I will satisfy you more than any labor, any toil, any work that you do for Me. Come to My side and be with Me and let Me show you the peace that goes beyond the thoughts of men.

I have longed to unveil to you what it means to be one with Me. Everything you once were before I gave you new life has ceased to exist. I am your True Life, your new identity. I re-created you in Myself and I gave to you all that I Am. You are as holy as I Am in My eyes and My face always shines upon you. Listen My child, you are the most favored one in all the universe, for I have placed My robe of splendor and beauty upon you. No longer are you found unworthy or unclean, for I have set the glory of My love upon you. The infinitely Beautiful One now lives in you. And where you go, the King of Glory also goes, for you are one.

Make Me visible to those around you, as you love Me above all else. The deepest place of peace is found in the deepest place of My love. Enter in and find a more lovely resting place than you have known before. And as you surrender your cares and burdens to Me, I will surrender My heart to you. Come to the oasis of My love and drink deeper still, until you have more than enough to share with others. Come to My side and be one with Me.
Brian Simmons and TPT Team

Here is how Brian Simmons has translated in The Passion Translation
Matthew 11: 28-30

Matthew 11:28-30 The Passion Trans- lation

“So everyone, come to me! Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to Me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you'll discover that I'm gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear."Brian Simmons and TPT Team

"...is the title song from Laura's most recent album, "God Of Every Story", written by Laura along with Ed Cash (who also produced the album). The song is partly autobiographical; the man named Martin who is mentioned in one of the verses is Laura's husband. Martin was diagnosed with a brain tumor a couple of years after he and Laura were married. It was life-threatening, but God is the Great Physician. Then in September 2012 their first child was born, Josephine Grace. That's her all bundled up in the little pink outfit."

W.O.W. ~ "HOPE"

This Whisper On Weds. should have been posted last week
as our nation needed to look toward

However, I personally needed that whisper of

so when I received this email on last Monday it was very timely yet I believe that it still is needed

"... In your darkest hour look to the One who gives us HOPE! "~Brian Simmons and Your TPT Team
Romans 15:13 The Passion Translation
(see verse after "His Whisper" below)

for each one of us
needs a
"Walk On Weds."
just to pause in His
Word On Weds.

"I am the One who gives you hope in your darkest hour. The victory of your soul will be found as you hope in Me. Come to the fountain of hope and drink this day. For the days to come require that your eyes are washed with my hope and mercy. Many see a storm cloud on the horizon and lose their way. But you will see the storm cloud that Ezekiel saw, bringing you hope for a new day.

Within the storm you will find Me, living and breathing out hope. In the midst of the fire I will stand and you will see Me with new eyes. You are an overcomer. I have seen you stand up when others have fallen. Hope has sustained you, and My love has carried you. I am breathing My breath of hope into your soul this day.

You will never carry your burdens alone. I am with you always and I will lift from your soul what troubles you. Come and look upon My face and you will see the birth of hope within you. When you feel you are in a battle with no place to turn, I am your Captain, the Warrior-King who will fight for you. There is hope waiting for you, even in the heat of battle.

Hope is like a bright light to illuminate your way. In your darkness, hope shines until it has consumed your fears. I will always be faithful to you, My child. As I look into your future I see victory, joy, and promises fulfilled. What do you see when you look into the days ahead? Wash your eyes in my fountain of hope and you will see what I see.

Now you have risen into the next level of hope. Keep stirring the fires of expectation within your soul. I will never disappoint those who hope in Me. Even as you have opened your heart to Me I too open My heart to you. Come into your resting place, O prisoner of hope, and I will show you many things you have never even imagined. I AM the God of hope, and soon, very soon, your every enemy will be defeated. Still your soul, rest in Me, and hope will be birthed within you."
~Brian Simmons and TPT Team, 7/11/16 email

"Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in Him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with His super-abundance until you radiate with hope!"

21 PRAYERS ... {when you need a prayer and just can't pray}

and MORE later

This is a time for
every moment is a time for prayer

but there's an
"Urgency of the Hour"
{I couldn't agree more}

seems like others are leaning toward praying also
like Emily Freeman with "A Prayer of the Heart ..."

our world needs prayer
our nation needs prayer
our families need prayer
our churches need prayer
our leaders in places of authority and
our communities need prayer

So I have been looking around for
because quite honestly
only my spirit is praying lately
for I lack the wisdom and the words to cry out
"Have mercy on us, O God"
"Thank You, Lord"
other short phrases

I lack then HE supplies
I search then HE answers
I give praise and thanks
then HE responds in kind

I could not wait any longer to declare in
with so much going on
(and with all my posts planned ahead, I had to squeeze this in)
but prayer shouldn't be like that at all
especially when prayer is my priority because
communication with God IS first and foremost
yet often that's what we do "squeeze" God in
or just when we really need God
when our prayers really need to be constant
moment by moment, *"unceasingly", throughout each day
(or night, in my case, quite often)
How is that even possible?
{well, it is and should be}
*1 Thessalonians 5:17
Got Questions
"Desiring God" John Piper

but I digressed, I'm getting away from my main purpose here

I found quite a few reading plans at You Version on PRAYER and am sharing just the prayers from this one: "21 Days of Prayers" provided by Pastor Eric Gerber of Freedom Life Church and I'm following two others right now (one is short and the other one is 32 days that I shared over at my MISSION blog) :

"Unleash The Miraculous Every Day: Living The Spirit Contemporary Life"

"Honoring Women And Children In A World At War"

If you find yourself stumbling or mumbling around with loss of praise, adoration, words or thanks ... Please don't just read through these now but take the time to pray each one, maybe bookmark or come back, and pray these prayers so they will spark some further prayers coming forth ... kinda like prayer starters for your day or perhaps when you need a particular one (each one has a theme underlined or given each day):

Day 1, Power
"Thank You God for the power of Your spirit that is working in me, my family and in every area of my life."...

"God, I thank You for the power of Your Holy Spirit. Today I’m asking that You would help me be more aware of Your power rather than my weaknesses. You are a big and awesome God and I receive Your power today. Forgive me for making You too small in my life. Thank You that You are demonstrating Your power in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen! "  Ephesians 6:10; Philippians 4:13; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 4:20

Day 2, Creativity

"Thank You for the creativity You have given me to see the possibilities in my life."...

"God thank You for helping me to see beyond what others see. Give me big ideas that will help me to see things differently. Increase my creativity so I can do so much more for You and help lead others to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen! "  Genesis 1:1-3Exodus 35:31-32Psalms 139:14Matthew 25:16Luke 1:37

"God thank You for creating me in Your image. Thank You that You have given me every resource I need to do all that You created me to do here on earth. Today, I thank You specifically for ___________ (list what your personal need is). I’m trusting in You for the resources that I need. Thank You for meeting all my needs. I love You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!

Day 4
"Thank You for the relationships that You have provided."...

"God, I thank You so much for the relationships You have provided for me. Thank You for helping me make the right connections today in my job, with my family, with my community, and in my church. I thank You for the connections that I will continue to make throughout the year. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Day 5
"Thank You for the peace that you are providing me today."...

"God, thank You for taking my anxious thoughts and filling me with peace. I pray today for help to remember that the challenges and struggles I face are opportunities to be filled with peace. I ask that You would help me to be more aware of Your peace in my family, my church, and in my life. I thank You for the peace that You have given to me. In Jesus’ name, Amen! "

"Thank You for the strength You are providing me today."...

"God, thank You today for increasing my strength. I receive Your strength. Help me to remember in my moments of feeling weak that you increase the strength within me. Keep me from looking to other things to fill me with what only You can satisfy. In Jesus’ name, Amen! "

Day 7
"Thank You for the authority that You have given me through Your name."

God, I thank You today for the authority You have given me through Your son, Jesus. I ask that You would show me the areas in my life that I have allowed to overtake me. Help me today to walk in the authority that You have given me. In Jesus’ name, Amen! "

Day 8
"Thank You for helping me apply discipline to my life today."...

"God, I confess to You that I have not always been disciplined. I thank You for the grace and mercy that You give to me, even when I fall short. Help me today to make better decisions. Help me to say “no” in my weak moments. Stir up in me a passion for Your Word. Help me to grow deeper in my relationship with You. Give me the desire to pursue You more than the things that only satisfy me temporarily. I love You and I ask this In Jesus’ name, Amen! "

Day 9
"Thank You for giving me vision to see beyond my circumstances."...
{for me personally, I say "Thank You for vision, as in sight, also and all of the other senses You have given me; hearing, touch, taste, smell ... " although this prayer is not about our senses, I could not help myself from immediately pausing to be grateful for all the abilities I have had the privilege to have and give thanks while I still do have them. Aging makes you keenly aware of these blessings.}

"God, thank You for giving me “big vision” today to see beyond my current circumstances. Help me today to see things as You see them. Stir up within me “big vision” for every area of my life. Keep me from limiting You based on what I see. Give me vision beyond myself. In Jesus’ name, Amen! "

Day 10
"Thank You for the faith to believe in You for the things that I can’t yet see."

"God, I thank You today for giving me the faith to believe You- to believe in the things that I cannot see. I confess that I have doubted and even given up in certain areas of my life. Today, I ask that You stir up a mountain-moving faith in my heart. Let faith rise up with in me to walk in that confident assurance that You are moving in big ways on my behalf. In Jesus’ name, Amen! "

Day 11
"Thank You for giving me hope."

"God, thank You that You give me hope when everything seems hopeless. Help me today to remember that I am firm and secure in the hope that comes from You. Enable me to see today through the eyes of hope. In Jesus’ name, Amen! "

Day 12
"Thank You for the joy that gives me strength."

"God, thank You for joy today! I pray that You would fill me fresh with the joy of the Lord. Help me today to remember that my joy is not based on what happens around me but rather on what You are doing in my heart and in my life. I pray that I would overflow with joy today. I pray joy would be contagious to those around me. Let the joy from You show on my face. In Jesus’ name, Amen!"

Day 13
"Thank You for the ability to do all things

"Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God"

I am
as I place YOU there also

{I'm thinking that these may be more necessary in the wake of current events and more}

"Lord Jesus, You have always loved us from the beginning, and You have shown the depth of Your love in dying for us on the cross and thereby sharing our sufferings and wounds. At this moment, we lay all the obstacles that separate us from Your love at the foot of Your cross. Roll back the stones which imprison us. Awaken us to Your resurrection morning. There may we meet the brothers and sisters from whom we are separated. Amen."

"God of love, look upon our willingness to serve You despite our spiritual poverty and limited abilities. Fulfill the deepest longings of our hearts with Your presence. Fill our broken hearts with Your healing love so that we may love as You have loved us. Grant us the gift of unity so that we may serve You with joy and share Your love with all. This we ask in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen."

"Lord Jesus, who prayed that we might all be one, we pray to You for the unity of Christians according to Your will, according to Your means. May Your Spirit enable us to experience the suffering caused by division, to see our sin and to hope beyond all hope. Amen."

"Lord Jesus, You said that everyone will know that we are Your disciples if there is love among us. Strengthened by Your grace, may we work tirelessly for the visible unity of Your Church, so that the Good News that we are called to proclaim will be seen in all our words and deeds. Amen"

"God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may You give to all Christians, and especially to those entrusted with leadership in Your Church, the spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that with the eyes of our hearts we may see the hope to which You have called us: one body and one Spirit, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above and through all and in all. Amen."

"Heavenly Father, grant us humility to hear Your voice, to receive Your call, and to share Your dream for the unity of the Church. Help us to be awake to the pain of disunity. Where division has left us with hearts of stone, may the fire of Your Holy Spirit inflame our hearts and inspire us with the vision of being one in Christ, as He is one with You, so that the world may believe that You have sent Him. This we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen."

"Lord Jesus, You asked Your apostles to stay awake with You and to pray with You. May we offer the world protected times and spaces in which to find refreshment and peace, so that praying together with other Christians we may come to know You more deeply. Amen"

"Lord Jesus, you have made our hearts burn within us, and have sent us back upon the road towards our brothers and sisters, with the Gospel message on our lips. Help us to see that hope and obedience to Your commands always lead to the greater unity of Your people. Amen."
