"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair."~from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

APOLOGY to READERS who followed a SEARCH to HERE & didn't find it

On July 18, 2017, I drafted almost 3000 blog posts that I had published since 2008 when I began blogging, rather than edit each one. So if you clicked here from somewhere else and ended up with the post unavailable or error, I am sorry but this is why. It'd be too much work for me to go back and fix them. There's an explanation on 7/19/17 as I'm still learning.

 Last Week 4 was STEADFAST

This
Week 5
VISIONARY

Acts 2:17 (CSB)
"We all need vision."

"... We need vision to drive what we need to do daily to stay moving in the right direction. We need vision to see beyond the setbacks and disappointments we will undoubtedly face in life. We need vision to believe God when He promises something to us, and there are no signs around us to fortify His promise in our hearts. We need vision for the work He's given us to do."

DANIEL 7:1-8; 9-10; 11-14; 15-22;
DANIEL 8:1-14; 15-27

Day 1 God Gives Daniel Dreams and Visions
Day 2 God Gives Us Vision
Day 3 God Speaks to Us
Day 4 God Assures Us of Victory
Day 5 Visionary
"... To cultivate a Visionary heart,
We need to seek the One who is the author of biblical visions and eternal promises." ...

WEEK 6
PRAYERFUL

James 5:16

The time in which we live
most definitely
calls us all
to be
PRAYERFUL
more than ever
for our homes, to our communities,
to our nation and world

Daniel,
and other biblical people
indeed are examples for us to be
PRAYERFUL
in times of turmoil, trials and
even temptation

Day 1 Daniel Prays Daily
Day 2 Daniel Cries Out to God
Day 3 God Treasures Danielp
Day 4 Daniel Prays as a Warriorl
Day 5 Prayerful

DANIEL 9 and 10

"Prayerfulness is one of the most needed and beneficial character qualities that Daniel exemplifies for us. In the good times and in the bad, he faithfully and consistently prayed, thanking God and asking Him to come on the scene and move on behalf of His people. Prayer connects us to God."...

The best way to end this blog post clearly should be with a prayer. I have been praying alot these past few weeks, more than my morning and evening times, especially in June with 21 days of prayer from Watermark Church. And yet words for a concluding prayer right now seem to escape me because there is so much in my heart so I need to pause, reflect and allow the Holy Spirit to pray through our many needs & groaning as only He can... perhaps I will return with one that truly encompasses being visionary and prayerful. Praying God's promises and seeking God's will & words.

"ENTRUSTED with TREASURE" 4

WEEK 4
STEADFAST

"The AG Women’s theme for 2020, for women in the Assemblies of God is “Entrusted with Treasure”. AG Women understand that women have received a charge from God to stand strong and be faithful, humble, courageous under fire & prayerful."

 Last Week 3 HUMBLE
(and all the previous)

This Week 4:
STEADFAST
1 Corinthians 15:58

DANIEL 6:1-5; 6-10; 11-18; 19-28;

Day 1 God Makes a Way
Day 2 God Helps us Prepare
Day 3 God Develops our Character
Day 4 God Rescues Us
Day 5 Steadfast

"A steadfast person is one who has made choice after choice to just ... keep ... doing ... the ... right things. Over and over do what is right. Do what feeds the right things in your life. Do what the Word of God tells you to do. Do what strengthens your relationship with Jesus. And then, do it again, no matter the opposition you experience." day 5

"Steadfast, at the root of the word,
(we see 'stead' ,or 'stede' "place" + fast "firmly fixed")
 meaning to be loyal.
 Committed. Devoted.
Solid. Constant"
Hannah Brencher, "How to be steadfast"
{I added the part in parentheses}

For me, before I get into this week's study of Daniel, and being steadfast, I'd like to give thanks to God
  because in my humble opinion,
Jesus is the Rock
and the best example of being steady
or being steadfast
is in
Jesus

Daniel knew God
as a rock and the Rock
(2 Samuel 22:2-3)
(Deuteronomy 32:3-4)
(Psalms 24:8; 65:6)
(Psalms 18:31)
(Daniel 2:44-45)

God/ Jesus
is the
Rock of our Salvation

and

that's a pretty solid foundation

Trusting
in the
Promises of God
produces confidence in
God's power, protection, & provision

Our lives are anchored to a
Solid, Unshakeable
foundation in
Jesus Christ
Our Rock
The Rock of all ages

Our salvation, likewise, cannot be taken or shaken
because it's secure in Jesus Christ,
who died once & for all for our sons & rose
victoriously

Now that's
Resurrection Power!

"ENTRUSTED with TREASURE" Intro, 1-3

"The AG Women’s theme for 2020, for women in the Assemblies of God is “Entrusted with Treasure”. AG Women understand that women have received a charge from God to stand strong and be faithful, humble, courageous under fire & prayerful."

I came upon this study sometime after the National AG Women's Day in February and then this corona virus surfaced in the US; and found that YouVersion (YV) had a sample of it (basically a clip of Week 2: Courageous with some of the Introduction on YV's day 1). So since I was interested, I purchased a copy of this book to know more about this study of the life and character of Daniel, written by Kay Burnett, AG Women National Director, the theme study for 2020 being "Trustworthy".
"Maybe it was Daniel’s life and character that caused the apostle Paul to write to Timothy later and encourage him to “guard . . . the treasure which has been entrusted to you.” Women today can take Paul’s message to heart, learn from Daniel, and guard the treasure of the gospel." AG website
More than anything in 2020, I would like to "guard the treasure entrusted to me" and be found "trustworthy" as I focus on the 2020 Word "Promises". Beginning a study like this, however, takes commitment and listening to God's voice as you pray for the Holy Spirit to transform you, not just doing it as another checklist item ... so, as I do often, I start with defining the key concept. In this case, that would be "trustworthy". If we look at just the word and not a dictionary definition (yet), it clearly is a compound word of being 'worthy of trust'. According to the dictionary definition, it means "able to be relied on as honest or truthful". My curiosity took me one step further to asking "what qualities does a trustworthy person need to have?" This search shows me these traits necessary: availability(being there for others), compassion(empathy), consistency, humility, honor, kindness, authenticity, selflessness. As I look at Daniel, or the set-up of this book, I'm pretty sure these traits are found in Daniel and I find similar traits listed for each week in this study:
 "Trustworthy"

WEEK 1 Faithful Ps.86:2
WEEK 2 Courageous Ps.31:24
WEEK 3 Humble Ps. 25:9
WEEK 4 Steadfast 1 Cor. 15:58
WEEK 5 Visionary Acts 2:17
WEEK 6 Prayerful James 5:16
WEEK 7 Promised Heb. 10:23
(study uses CSB version)

I have completed only Week 1 and Week 2 so far.

Being completely honest, I don't see myself, or me in
my earlier life, as being trustworthy, nor do I trust most others.
Looking at these traits: faithful and courageous,
I probably would say I lack them also.
With this in mind, I have much to learn and gain
from this study and Daniel.
Contrary to what others say, I know that at least I am
full of faith, if I have not been faithful in my past, I remain
faithful and hope to always be faithful to God.
And as regards 'courageous' ... that's yet to be determined,
God is at work and in my heart
I am learning to be strong and courageous.

Being able to view the videos as I read this book,
I find encouraging, helpful and inspiring.
Although I seem to lack these traits fully in me,
I know that to some degree I am, but in Christ
I truly am, so I will allow this to refine me
as I continue and perhaps the Holy Spirit
will renew, restore or stir up more
of these traits in me.

Meanwhile,
I am so very thankful that I am
"entrusted with treasure"

12 The confidence of my calling enables me to overcome every difficulty without shame, for I have an intimate revelation of this God. And my faith in Him convinces me that He is more than able to keep all that I’ve placed in His hands safe and secure until the fullness of His appearing.
13 Allow the healing words you’ve heard from me to live in you and make them a model for life as your faith and love for the Anointed One grows even more14 Guard well this incomparable treasure by the Spirit of Holiness living within you. (TPT)

Today
I pray that you too will guard
the Promise in
2 Timothy 1:14
as your own

For this next
Week 3
HUMBLE

Psalm 25:9 (CSB)

Daniel 4 & 5

Day 1 God Works Humility in Us
Day 2 God Helps Daniel Walk in Humility
Day 3 God Gives Daniel Wisdom
Day 4 God Gives Grace to the Humble
Day 5 Humble

Before encountering this study, I might have thought or others may have, that I am trustworthy ... and in these times, more than ever, as lights for Jesus Christ, we need to be and all of these traits should be found in us. However, if we're honest, these times are bringing out the worst in most of us, especially with those around us daily. I have heard good stories also where people are actually doing really good things for others; most certainly those in the front lines without question are ... let us remain faithful of who we are in God and follow Daniel's example of treating others (especially in leadership regardless of whether we agree with them) with respect, dignity and honor. Sadly, I have seen quite the opposite, even from people who call themselves Christians. We need to influence others and stand firm on God's Word. May we shine more of Jesus & less of self. May we walk in these character traits & treasure our worth in Jesus by showing ourselves to be "trustworthy" vessels.

ALERT! Pray & Keep Watch ...

So much is happening in the world since my last post, but now more than ever, it's important for me to share about my passion (see right column, under About Me, if you've forgotten), yet I have been absent from here and have not been sharing at all. Many important days have past ... however, not being sure of what to share or post, I decided the last post of my "40 Day Journey ... toward the Power ..." perhaps was the best words to leave everyone access to read for some HOPE!

I feel so inadequate to write about the world situation and this 'pandemic' COVID-19 but I have been reading and trying to keep abreast with good Christian content as I discern what is the truth. Maybe you have read about all of this, maybe not ... so I don't want to lead you astray in any way ... and I really want to stay the course of God's Truth and His Promises (my Word for 2020) has taken on so much more importance in lieu of all this. I will not jump to conclusions or follow (go down any rabbit holes). But now, more than ever, we are called to pray & stay alert, keeping our eyes on Jesus & staying in His Word, which for me is focusing on His PROMISES - every one & holding on to each one, clinging to all God promises those who believe.
However, sadly or strangely, my heart is overwhelmed with those who do not yet believe and will perish {one in particular} but he is one among so many.

I have been reading so much and watching so many videos (continue with YouVersion Bible reading plans, Online Bible Studies (OBS), etc.) and still remain uncertain as to what I should share here on a blog entitled "aMazing Grace..." because truly we are living in a time of His aMazing Grace and a great outpouring ... Yesterday, May 12th, 2020 was my 1000 day streak in my Bible plan(s), but that's just since they began counting because I know I've been in bible.com for much longer.

Today, I read an article that inspires me to return to my blog & share something. Not having anything in particular of my own, I decided that at least I would point you to this article and the author, who I have come to really like because of her prayers and the articles I've read from her which leads me to her blog, searching for either the prayers or the articles. Often I can't find them there, so they're probably on Facebook or one of the other social media sites that I don't do. I receive emails with just the beginnings (which I don't really like because I have to always click over to whichever site to continue reading, in this case to iBelieve) but because of copyright ... I have to do the same. I also don't want to plagiarize or violate copyright (hers or theirs) yet following the link to read this article there, you have to click for each new point (which I really don't like) so I am going to list the "7 ways..." that Debbie writes that "... Satan has gone to war during ..." this time of COVID-19.

"The battles we’re facing right now can make so much feel uncertain. Every day, new headlines and top stories remind us that we’re not in control. We may even start to wonder how we’ll ever make it through, and the “what if’s” seem to mount up higher."

This definitely confirms what I started with above in this blog post of my own inadequacy and uncertainty, plus the urgency of my heart ... and I'm sure there are even more ways, yet we all need to be wise and KNOW our enemy well so this article by DM certainly summarizes best with these points about Satan, we live in a real evil world and time (please note my one personal addition in bold letters... that 'live' spelled backwards is 'evil', so do we live/pray for self or for God and His will?):

1."He(satan) works to consume us in doubt, fear and worry. He tries to deceive us into thinking we’re all alone."
2.
"He tries to steal, kill, and destroy all that we hold dear. He’s the master of destruction."
3."He tempts us to rely on ourselves and our own strength to get us through. He disguises himself as an angel of light."
4."He is the author of confusion. He breeds distrust and paranoia."
5."He tries to lead us into a downward spiral of depression and despair."
6."He causes sickness and death."
7."He works hard to bring disunity and strife. He wants nothing more than to break up the body of Christ."
DM includes scriptures, of course, to substantiate each point.

I knew these points (and I'm sure you do also) yet I find it affirming to read someone else stating them so concisely. So, if you (like I) have found yourself confronted or in a battle with any of the above, you now have this to let you know the reason.

Debbie concludes this article with ways we can protect ourselves from satan's schemes (found in 1 Peter 5:8, James 4:7, Romans 8:37, Ephesians 6:11, Romans 16:20 and 1 John 4:4) and these words: "...Keep living aware. Keep standing strong. You are never alone. May His grace, peace, and joy cover your day. He is with you. And He is greater. Always." {YES! Yes! YES!!! His PROMISES!} Our Resurrection Power because of Jesus Christ ...

I was not sure what to title this blog post ... so after finishing, that is what came to me! Praying that You & yours are well & you are standing strong on His Promises! ~ Peggy (there are so many wonderful songs that are being released as well ... but I couldn't find the one I wanted to share so for now ... Be My Shalom ... will be my choice - the bilingual version) and The Blessing (La Bendicion). May JESUS be our Shalom now & forever!

In case you don't already read at these sites, I'd also like to point you in the direction of Sheila Walsh and Max Lucado as well as Proverbs 31 Online Bible Study (although they are just finishing up "Dangerous Prayers") and Faith Gateway(which is currently doing Max's "You'll Get Through This", now in Week 2) I don't know about you, but I love being able to watch so many different churches online from services to prayer and communion times; sermons, teachings, and Christian artists/singers entertaining online.
