"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." ~ from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

MOORE On Monday (M.O.M.) ~ "Burdened for us today"

Beth MooreIt's been quite a while since I shared Beth Moore, in her blog space, here on Mondays (my spiritual M.O.M. & teacher) ... however she just wrote this on Feb. 19th, 2016 as she "emerged from her prayer time and Scripture reading" that morning with a "burden on" her heart.

As I read this, I too, felt an urgency to share her beautiful message:

"Burdened for us today

by Beth Moore

{here's a taste after she introduced this}

"... We are warned in the Scriptures that darkness will increasingly rage as time hastens toward Christ’s return. We are not date-setters but this we know. His return is closer today than it was yesterday. And the enemy is angrier today than he was yesterday. (Rev.12:12) And he wants us. He wants our testimonies. He wants to render us ineffective and make us a laughingstock. He wants to come between us and distract us with ridiculous things, showy things, boastful things, petty things, divisive things so that we’ll miss the tidal wave of temptation and seduction begging to engulf us. Jesus told us to be prepared. And we’re not. If we were, we’d be poring over our Bibles and flat on our faces in prayer. We’d come to our feet in the power of the Holy Spirit and preach and teach the Gospel with love and holy fire. " ...

is the catch-all for me
not self-condemnation, or self-loathing

So many excellent points (but this is another that stood out
I can't say my favorite, but really noteworthy

"... The enemy knows where we’re vulnerable. After thousands of years, he’s perfected his aim. He will not bother shooting many fiery darts where we are covered. He’s going for the bull’s eye, that glaring bald-spot where we refuse to come under the authority of Christ. We keep calling it a blind spot. Oh, we have blind spots alright but I don’t think they’re the biggest problem. We’re not blind to most of our disobedience and sin. We hope others are but we’re usually wide-eyed and well aware. It’s not a blind spot. It’s a bald-spot, uncovered because we so badly don’t want to give Jesus authority over it."...

"FLASH" as his NAME

As you hopefully have found out by now

I'm dedicating this first week of May to

a special
a Rafflecopter giveaway

Flash the donkey

for indeed I have fallen in love
with this beloved burro
Rachel Anne Ridge
as his storyteller

The first thing most people would want to know about someone, especially if they're entering into a "love" relationship, would be their name or how that name came to be theirs ... so it was no different for me with this sweet donkey. Most have a reason for why one is called a particular name or a story about how their name came to be. Even when I started out my blog, I wrote one of my initial blog posts about  "What's in a Name?" because it's important and so does Rachel Anne Ridge in her second chapter of this book after introducing us to their "Unexpected Guest" in chapter one, she continues with a beautiful lesson that applies for us after explaining how Flash came to be "Flash" and not the name given by their landlords and neighbors either {of course, you really didn't think I'd tell you "What's in a Name" for Flash, did 'ya? Naw, you're just gonna have to get their book and read chapter 2, but you can find some nuggets at Home Sanctuary by following the carrot link

The part I do want to share is the spiritual application to us from Rachel and ...

... LESSONS from FLASH ...
{in the back of their book}

Being hugged is my favorite.

it came to Rachel as

...a whisper...

OK, maybe it was

...a nudge...

more than likely, it was

...a thought...

"a tickle on my skin"

... " snippets from a verse dropped into her head " ...

That's how God speaks to us sometimes, and here is where God led Rachel in His Word
{shared on page 41- 44 in her book}

Isaiah 43:1

... "The One whose I am. The One who named me. "...

"...that still small voice...
that people talk about

..."He was using a donkey to lead me to a simple truth"...

... "My identity really starts and ends with the One who created me." ...

Psalm 139

... "I had been operating from the wrong owner's manual. ... As my own master,
the names I called myself. Names I responded to as soon as I heard them.
Names that weren't actually mine." ...

How often we beat ourselves up with negative "self talk" and/or the lies we believe of ourselves that others have spoken or we ourselves speak over our selves and label us as these names imply

..."And I suddenly realized that I'd let my very identity be formed
by the names I called myself
because I had confused
what I do with who I am"...
page 43

Just like Rachel, as I read these words,

"...it hit me. As I child of God, I belong to Him. He made me. He owns me.  I am His."

He loves me and even calls me by name!

I couldn't agree more!

Had I not gained any more truths from reading
than these words
it would have been worth
all the carrots (karats) in gold

so much so
that I could not help but recall a precious song that's become like an anthem
this year between me and another
so I will sing the chorus again and again as
it echoes in my mind and heart

"... And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You've never failed and You won't start now..."

And this is just
Chapter 2

Rachel continues to journal in her notebook
then returns out to the pasture
the back woods
to call
as she shares with him

God is revealing to her and is "far from finished"
God can and will
... "use anything, at any time, in any way to speak to ..."

to get our attention and reminds

of these great truths and insights from Rachel

{or fail to do}

"What I do comes from who I am
not the other way around.
My value is inherent, not earned."
~Rachel Ridge~

as regards to

"... perhaps ownership had changed him as well ..."

just the knowledge that we belong to

a special Someone

who will care for us and does

because we are of great

worth and value

to Him

calls us by name

* and since often this is (M.O.M.) Moore On Monday spot on my blog, I have to share that even Beth Moore loves Flash (via a tweet she left on Twitter in Jan. this year) Living Proof below from FLASH's blog

what more of a recommendation does "Flash" need to find himself at home

Beth Moore

{You're going to have to CLICK on GRACE to read this over at
Living Proof Ministries (LPM Blog), the blog for Beth Moore and her ministry}

One Monday has already passed us by without me sharing Moore On Monday (M.O.M) so I could not wait to be sure that I start this year off with my tradition of sharing Beth Moore, making an impact this Monday on MY ONE WORD for 2015. Although I read this last year, I saved it to use this year ... because of how wonderful and diverse this is from our dear Beth ... I like so many parts of this, but this is what stood out for me ...

"...Grace is a room of a thousand mirrors,
all reflecting the face of Christ."~Beth Moore

Last year, I am sure that I shared this teaching of Beth Moore from Life Today

Part 1
 Part 2
 Part 3
 Part 4
 Part 5
Part 6
Part 7
just in case
you need to be refreshed
(each one is about a half hour)

After my 1st week of "Rediscovering Grace", I am so glad that GRACE is My One Word for 2015.

"WHISPERS" on WEDS. ~ Days 21-30

by Beth Moore
Days 21-30

{followed by a few "whispers" from Beth in her devotion that stand out to me}
Hope to add as I go along ~P.
[all print in gold is from Beth or God's Word]

Day 20

DAY 21

Focus: Matthew 7:24
Scripture Reading:Matt. 7:24-29

... "Notice the common denominators in the passage.
Both men built a house. Both faced a storm.
What is a house?
Walls of protection, a refuge, a fortress, a place to rest and fellowship,
often a place that defines our worth, our status. A place to call our own.
Each of us builds a house for ourselves in one way or another."

"Then came the storm. ...
Christ warns that the only indestructible house is the one built upon the rock of His teachings.
The strength of our houses is not dependent on our salvation.
It's not dependent on our faith.
It's dependent on our willingness to live according to God's Word." ...

... "Yes, storms will come, but we have an absolute promise
-our lives will not collapse." ...

... "Every time we receive, believe and heed His Word, He nails new shingles to our roofs,
He reinforces our walls... and His wet cement hardens beneath our feet." ...

... "As long as we have breath,
it is never too late for a foolish man to become wise." ...

"Better to have a hut on the Rock than a castle on the sand."

And now it's our time to "whisper" back to God!~P.
with our

{after each day, remember this is about praying?}

DAY 22

Focus: John 7:6
Scripture Reading: John 7:1-9

"Sometimes we think of Christ's sufferings as limited to His final days on earth.  ...couldn't compare to the emotional slap He received from His brothers." (John 1:11) ... Christ ... purpose (John 6:38) ...
The brothers' differences on the matter of timing measured a much deeper variance in the hearts of Mary's sons." ...
... "Our attitude toward timing may shed light on the desires of our hearts." ...
(John 7:5)
... "Isn't it amazing how faith affects our attitudes about timing?
Do we truly believe God knows what is best for us?
Then we can also believe God knows when is best for us.
Are you waiting on God?
Are you anxious because the answer is not coming? ..."

... "Use every second of the wait
to allow the Father to increase your faith and deepen your trust.
Stay so close that when He finally says "now,"
He'll only have to

{this is really hard to choose only part of Beth Moore's "Whispers"}
Every word of her devotional is so good!

DAY 23

Focus: Revelation 4:2
Scripture Reading: Revelation 4

"Limited by the stifling restraints of human language,
the apostle John sought to describe the
glorious inconceivable
through images we could see and understand."...
Revelation 4:3-10
..."You see beloved, from heaven's perspective
everything is seen in relationship
to the Throne of God."...

"Your life, your family, your background, your health,
your job, your service, your circumstances-
how differently would you view these things
if you could see them only in relationship
to God on His Throne?
Any other outlook gives us blurry vision.

of looking at things-
the only true way of looking at things."

DAY 24

Focus: Exodus 16:4
Scripture Reading: Exodus 16

"The account of God supplying manna to the children of Israel
is one of Scripture's most beautiful expression of God's provision. ... They had
neither means nor HOPE of acquiring food."... {the bold caps on HOPE is mine}

Exodus 16:4
"in this way I will test them"

... "A constant dose of plenty can sometimes be more difficult test
than a constant dose of need." ...

... "Herein lies the test. Must we be in immediate need to live obedient lives?" ...

"God is so faithful. So daily."

"Oh, how He delights in obedience prompted from something deeply internal-
a heart of love and devotion.
Ask Him today to help you become a child of God
whose levels of obedience are less regulated by circumstances
and more governed by love."

***For more details about this, when I started sharing "Whispers of Hope" go back here and here. Often I share the teachings of Beth Moore from Life Today on Mondays but I will do my best to not change course again by steadying my course for Mondays to focus on  "Whispers of HOPE" with MOM. Started with Day 1 back here.

See more "Whispers" next Mon., Weds. and I think Fri. but I'm not sure I will add as I read them.
