"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." ~ from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

S.O.S. Change ...

Changing my S.O.S. for today
I failed to get out a post when this new movie of
released on
August 19th, 2016
{August 12th for some Christian audiences}

Ben Hur (2016)
"Fight the Good Fight, Finish the Race"

... and so
I am making it the main feature for this last weekend in
{even if it's being declared a "flop" by critics, not for me}
as we know most critics view from an earthly perspective of

[Trailer parts]

Of course, I won't know until I get a chance to see for myself the full movie, but at least,
from the scenes that I've seen, I'd like to see it
and I am a fan of the original 1959 (or 1925?) classic
{remember I was but a mere child then but a really theatrical one}
however, I still would never compare them or pit one against the  other
{it's not my style}

{Here and here are two Christian reviews to keep the score kinda even}
and this
Archbishop José H. Gomez of Los Angeles, CA

Once again through You Version, I was able to escape and enjoy tidbits of this "Ben Hur" movie, through a 7 day (probably promotional) reading plan but I saw it as an opportunity to view glimpses into "Ben Hur" and Jesus. {you do realize that's why most critics have problems with this and that they are looking for some breath-taking Biblical Spectacular!!! for the big bucks}

from You Version reading plan

Ben-Hur is a story set in the first century when Christ was on earth. But it isn’t a story about Jesus. It’s the story of a man whose life Jesus keeps interrupting. Like any historical fiction, Ben-Hur tells a story of fictionalized characters but in an accurate, historical setting. The scenes of Christ’s interactions with this story line are of course fictionalized, but as you’ll see, hold very true to the nature of the very real Jesus of Nazareth we read about in the gospels. This plan will explore five movie clips each with commentary from a different Christian leader. But today we’ll watch a music video from For King and Country that sets the stage for the movie’s themes of love, forgiveness, justice, and redemption."

with these two readings from Scripture

Matthew 10:34-42;  Isaiah 2:1-4
so technically, this could be considered an
because I'm sharing vivid
via the movie, right?
now this
by King and Country

{this is from "Movie Clips" but it's the same one that You Version shares on Day 1 and is listed as "unlisted" so be considerate and think twice before sharing}

You can even enter

"Share your story of rising up and overcoming adversity"

"a trip for two to Israel"
(see caption at the top)

You Version Day 2 "Radical Love", Day 3 "Love as Revolution" (Rick Warren "Jesus Protects the Leper"), Day 4 "Mercy Triumphs Over Justice" {Yeah!} , Day 5 "Go and Do the Same" {that scene that the Archbishop above chose as his favorite} and Day 6 "Forgiveness and Healing", Day 7 "Back to You" is another song by Mary and Mary - by now it's time to see the full movie, don't you think? {I will have to remove the links to the videos soon}

Oh and while I'm at it, viewing wonderful Christian Cinema ... there is one coming for just one day in the theaters (so I hear) this September 20th that I hope I'm in USA by then so I can see it (most likely I won't be but I can hope) ...  I have to share it today so maybe you can catch it (for me) and I don't forget "To Joey With Love" - a beautiful tribute and compilation of so much love for Joey (MartinFeek by her dear husband Rory (his blog)

W.O.W. ~ "Transformation Within"

Quite often my
Walks On Weds.
have shared
I receive in emails (from LOOP) and through a special TPT ebook
("I Hear His Whisper")

"Nothing happens until the pain of remaining the same outweighs the pain of CHANGE"~Arthur Burt (image quote)
[image credit]

Today's WOW is different

it comes from a book to be just released

{but I read this part in a You Version reading plan}
also from a sample I have, that I just have to share as well
which contains this in its' opening

"Dearest One,

You are a daughter loved by a Father without rival
entrusted with a message and a promise beyond compare, in a time without precedent. You have been chosen for this moment that is at once great and terrible. For this very reason, you must love fearlessly ... believe outrageously ... and hope without measure." Lisa Bevere, "Without Rival..."

Rich words

I am convinced that this is not just a "whisper" meant for us
but a prophetic shout needed by so many of us
as an encouragement

But that above is not what I want to share today!

What I am sharing comes from that aforementioned 7 day reading plan provided by Lisa Bevere
that I could not wait to insert on my blog before
my upcoming two months of
pre-planned and written blog posts
through September and October

The minute I read this
I knew that I wanted to share
{I don't know yet if this comes from her book, but if her book is anything like this ...I'm sold

Day 5
"Transformation Within"
{isn't this really what my One Word "Change" is all about?}
from "Without Rival..." With Lisa Bevere

[Intro to the part I want to share]

"Because we worship a God without rival, there is unrivaled promise on your life, and it is also your treasure. This treasure transcends measure and spans time. This treasure comes to you in the form of intangible potential. For some, this gift is dormant … alive but asleep." ... Lisa Bevere
{golden words!!!}
...but here it is...
[broken down in separate boxes for dramatic effect]

"Imagine there is a knock on your door. You run to answer it and discover an angel on your doorstep."

Now take the time and really imagine this
and hear this

"The divine messenger calls you by name and declares loudly that you are an heiress-a princess of the heavenly realm. Stunned, you answer his declaration with a question, "I am?"

He nods in affirmation and places what appears to be an invitation into your hands.
There is no mistaking your name perfectly written on the envelope in bold gold letters. You draw a deep breath and lift tear-filled eyes only to realize the angel is gone."
{I really wanted to break that down into more boxes too-lol}
so the words capture the impact of each part

"You are overwhelmed by the sense that everything has changed, yet when you inspect your circumstances, nothing has. The purpose of this visit was never about a change of circumstances or location. This invitation is to an unrivaled transformation within. You open the envelope and carefully remove the gilded invitation: "

"You, beloved daughter, are now reborn as a princess of The Most High.

As you grow in the intimate knowledge of Jesus, His grace and peace will continually multiply in your life. This royal designation means you will have access to all that you would ever need as you pursue godliness and run the course of your life. Be assured that as you delve into the Holy Scriptures, your youth and mind will be renewed and you will become aware of all the vast treasury of the great and precious promises that have been granted to you. Each of these has been miraculously provided for you! Lovely one, in case you yet doubt, this is the best invitation you've ever received! All you need to do now is to turn your back on the world that has already turned its back on you. "

Lisa ends with these beautiful words:

..."One of the most glorious and courageous things you could ever do is live in the fullness of what Jesus purchased for you. God's destiny for your life, and His words over you, are not limited to your current situation. Lovely one, it is time to awaken to your treasure."~Lisa Bevere, "Without Rival"

Now that's encouragement!

to an intimate pursuit of God

{oh, by the way, there is more to her title -
"Without Rival: Embrace Your Identity and Purpose ..."
still more
"... in an Age of Confusion and Comparison"

I pondered quite a while on this
and the title
"Transformation Within"

Ephesians 4:23

Romans 12:2

{these were not the scripture readings that Lisa gave in Day 5}

I chose these two verses because they speak of

But since I do not want to take away from the impact of this

I'll pray that the Holy Spirit
connects everything that I have and will be
sharing on
greater purpose
and plan

as you
walk with the
this day and in the
upcoming months

remembering these
especially in
His Word

leaning in and listening hard
letting them
transform you
from within

One of my favorite all time worship songs

with one of my favorite singers
Sandi Patty
from a 1988 album
"Make His Presence Praise Glorious"
{small correction in the video's beginning}
although I truthfully prefer "Presence", you'll see why

[image credit]

"I AM PERPETUALLY WITH YOU, taking care of you. That is the most important fact of your existence. I am not limited by time or space; My Presence with you is a forever-promise. You need not fear the future, for I am already there. When you make that quantum leap into eternity, you will find Me awaiting you in heaven. Your future is in My hands; I release it to you day by day, moment by moment. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow.

I want you to live this day abundantly, seeing all there is to see, doing all there is to do. Don’t be distracted by future concerns. Leave them to Me! Each day of life is a glorious gift, but so few people know how to live within the confines of today. Much of their energy for abundant living spills over the time line into tomorrow’s worries or past regrets. Their remaining energy is sufficient only for limping through the day, not for living it to the full. I am training you to keep your focus on My Presence in the present. This is how to receive abundant Life, which flows freely from My throne of grace." You Version Day 2 of 14; "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young

JCBC ~ 1

Discussion #1

{it's the January 3rd devotional entry from "Jesus Calling"}

I have been in some "whirlwinds" in my lifetime but I can't recall much peace in those times. In fact, the mere mention of "whirlwind" to me, connotes anything but peaceful - it's more like everything being twisted and turned upside down; a stirring and sometimes whiplashes of wave after wave of ... 'messes', problems, situations whirring around ... yet God's Word speaks to us of remaining at peace ... calm ... Most often it is this peace we find in Jesus and with Jesus inside of us that sees us through each 'storm' and whirlwind, anchored in Jesus ... steering straight onward, holding on and trusting that we can get through anything with our focus on Him rather than the "whirl" or the "wind". Most often easier said than done. Don't let the situation take the wind out of your sails and send you whirling about, seek that internal peace knowing Jesus is our anchor and His Spirit is the wind beneath our feet that guides us beyond what we see or cannot yet see but simply believe. Read the reassurance Jesus speaks into us in Sarah's Jan. 3rd entry and the Scripture passages.

for the comments

{I believe every discussion has 3 like these.}

"Please read the devotion (or listen if you have the Jesus Calling audio book) and related Scripture passage from "Jesus Calling" dated January 3, and then answer/discuss these questions:

1. You may find yourself in one or more multiple roles as a wife, mother, career person, caretaker, confidante—the list could go on.
Are there times in your life when you feel burdened with the
many responsibilities that go along with these important roles?
What are some of the ways in which you cope with this?

2. Today’s reading advises us to “learn to hide in the secret of [God’s] presence, even as you carry out your duties in the world. (He) is both with you and within you.” As you carry out your many responsibilities  can you see the ways that God is working with you and in you to guide you each day?

3. It can be worrisome to juggle so many responsibilities, which can rob us of the peace of the presence of God. John 16:33 reminds us: “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world”(AMP). Take a moment to think of the things that are troubling you as you go about your work, and imagine how God is walking with you and working in you to conquer each of these issues—keeping you from worry and harm and bringing you peace." from "Jesus Calling", Women's Discussion Guide

I am sharing these today, but cannot guarantee that I will be able to each time. So be sure to download the Women's Discussion Guide from "Jesus Calling" as I recommended in the "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT..." blog post {that I kept moving forward daily as a reminder so it now precedes this one}

Hide me in the secret of Your Presence.
Remind me often in the midst of the whirlwind of this
world's trials, tribulations, distress and frustration
to take courage and be confident, certain and undaunted
not giving in or giving up because
Jesus overcame the world and conquered it for me
depriving any power of harming me.
Jesus is my Burden Bearer and my Constant Companion.
Thank You that I can release all my burdens and trust that
 You are with me. You are within me. You go before me.
You open the way, You make a way, You are the Way!

S.O.S. "... Enjoying PEACE in HIS PRESENCE"

Kind of a
"Weekend Whisper"
as we enjoy
Soaking On SONday

Psalm 118: 24; and Philippians 4:19, 6, 7.

and then

COME TO ME WITH A THANKFUL HEART, SO THAT YOU CAN ENJOY MY PRESENCE. This is the day that I have made. I want you to rejoice today,refusing to worry about tomorrow. Search for all that I have prepared for you, anticipating abundant blessings and accepting difficulties as they come. I can weave miracles into the most mundane day if you keep your focus on Me.

Come to Me with all your needs, knowing that My glorious riches  are a more-than-adequate supply. Stay in continual communication with Me, so that you can live above your circumstances even while you are in the midst of them.Present your requests to Me with thanksgiving, and My Peace, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your heart and mind."

S.O.S. ~ "...Interceding..."

... Romans 8:34 ...

A very special sister in Christ, Karen from "Hallelujah Anyhow", shared the words to this following song and the image from Hebrews 7:25 (HCSB) over where we read the Bible together and follow various reading plans with You Version. Although I'm not sure why she chose this verse nor what reading plan ... I do know that it holds her chosen One Word for 2016 - ALWAYS - I listened carefully after reading the words to this song, which struck a chord in my heart and it's a good reminder for us all.

"And He's Ever Interceding"

Sometimes we just need a good ole
Gospel Song

comfort and hope

... Hebrews 7:25 (HCSB)...
"Therefore, He is always able to save those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them."

over and over
has been that
'someone that goes that extra mile'
tho' she's not old enough to be my mother
she's definitely a wonderful 'sister' and friend
as many of you have and are
we really are
'just like one great big family'
I don't know why these lyrics came to Karen
but I'm so glad that they did and I'm asking you
to lift Karen to the Father for whatever comes to you
{nothing in particular}
to bless her for the many times she blesses me!
Thank you!

We thank You
for our great BIG family
We thank You
that Jesus continues to intercede
for each of us
sticking with us through thick and thin.

Thank You
for defending us
whether we are weak or weary

Thank You
that You help us and often
carry our heavy burdens

So very thankful
love us and save us
when we come
boldly or weakly
to Your throne

You are for us!

Jesus is
"ever interceding"

Thank You
for the
this brings
in Jesus' name

I lift up my sisters and brothers in Christ
knowing You know their needs and
You already are answering them
and meeting them
right where they are

Be with each one
their precious loved ones
pouring out
Your everlasting
mercy, forgiveness
aMazing Grace

This is a perfect scene, song and scripture

Thank you Karen!

W.O.W. ~ "Soaring Faith"

Last week in my W.O.W., I chose "Walk by Faith" for the title and shared too much; two videos and a LOOP devotional and on the next day, I received a "whisper" from The Passion Translation that goes perfectly with "Walk by Faith". God is so sweet as He continues to impress upon you an encouragement.

Today I continue to "walk by faith" and watch as it stirs and begins to SOAR. As HE lifts me up ... and The Passion Translation, His Word comes and breathes deeply into my spirit

"All you tired and weary souls be encouraged. It is our prayer that this 'whisper' reminds you how precious and powerful your faith is. We are reminded to not only nurture our faith but continually come before the Lord and ask for Him to make it greater.
Brian Simmons and Your TPT team

{Although these come altogether as one email, I have broken it down by paragraphs so I can intersperse comments or for you to comment}

I HEAR HIS WHISPER ... "Soaring Faith"

"Faith and greater faith is My word to you. The time of renewing your faith has come. What you have endured has increased your faith, yet more will be needed in coming days. Look directly to Me and to Me alone and I will help you and make your strong in faith. A bold, courageous faith will lift you higher and cause you to soar above the troubles of the world. Many see the horizon filled with clouds, most see only a coming storm, but your faith will see the clouds of glory. Did not Ezekiel see the clouds and wind and storm, yet within the storm was the Man of Fire surrounded with lightning and glory. What do you see in the storm? Will you see the new man of fire emerging ready to go forth and conquer?" Brian Simmons, TPT

Isn't this what we desire?

... that whatever we're going through or have gone through

 there was a 'greater' good, a 'greater' purpose
a CHANGE in our faith, an increase, a building-up,
a strengthening force or reason for it all

What do you see in the storm?

I pray
we will see like Ezekiel
we may see
the new 'man' of fire
ready to go
to conquer all we face
with a

a renewed

that lifts us up

causing us to

above the troubles of this world

yes, just like the
Isaiah 40:31
this is exactly what I thought of as I read
I was searching for a
"soaring faith"
thinking it might show a soaring eagle
and instead I came upon that one
above with one of my new
favorite songs
"Touch the Sky"
{yet my favorite song for eagles is "On Eagles' Wings"}

"A soaring faith will bring you into My ways. A sagging faith will bring you down into the ways of men. Seeing only what man sees and believing only what man believes. My word is greater, My plan is higher, My strength is stronger, and My purpose is more glorious than anything found on earth. Never let your faith be set on the words of men, but on the living words of God! As your eyes focus to the new reality you will see that I am at work in the storm, and I am setting all in place for the greatest days of heaven on earth." Brian Simmons, TPT

not a sagging one or a weary one.
not one based on words of people.
or recorded messages of past lies
but on the

May our eyes and hearts
on seeing
at work in
whatever 'storm'
we find ourselves
facing or in the midst of this
very moment

"Your faith must never waver, for My word is forever settled in heaven and will not change, not even if every star fell from the sky and every hill and mountain crumbled into the sea, My covenant of love and My steadfast Word will not be shaken. I am not the author of fear. I am not the God of doubt, but the God of Yes and Amen! Confusion is nothing more than the dust of the earth blown into the wind by the work of your enemy.

Faith is light that creates and empowers and sustains and heals. Come into the highest place and your faith will emerge unbreakable and unbendable. Mighty men and mighty women will arise in this hour. They will be easy to find, for their faith will illuminate the path before them. Even as soldiers are given medals for bravery in battle, I am about to anoint those who in secret have won their battles and remained on their assignment for Me. They will be honored by heaven’s angels and win a strategic place in councils of heaven for their great faith." Brian Simmons, TPT

that does

Steadfast, Strong

Your Word
O Lord

Steadfast, True, Strong

our God of
"Yes and Amen"

"Faith is light that creates and empowers and sustains and heals."

May our FAITH today
"unbreakable and unbendable"
strong in

Make us BRAVE

Pour out Your anointing on us
as we remain
to our assignment
"it is finished"

"Ask, seek, and knock. Ask for more faith, seek a courageous heart, and knock on My eternal doors and they will open to you. Mighty one, move forward! Let nothing defeat you as you step out in faith. Watch the miracles come forth from your proclamations of faith and victory! When you walk in great faith you will win the great prize of your high calling in Christ Jesus. Nothing will turn you aside when you walk with Me by faith, seeing the invisible, loving the eternal, and living for the supernatural. Great faith is your destiny, rise up, mighty one, and take your place with my last days overcomers. I am with you, and that will always be enough." Brian Simmons, TPT

I ask for

an overcoming spirit
that rises up from

I seek a

will come forth

I will
today and every day
into the future

Thank You Lord
for this reminder once again
You are with us
You are enough

Hebrews 10:22 The Passion Translation

“We come closer to God and approach Him with an open heart, fully convinced by faith that nothing will keep us at a distance from Him. For our hearts have been sprinkled with blood to remove impurity and we have been freed from an accusing conscience and now we are clean, unstained, and presentable to God inside and out!”

This is the last one from this book that I so love
although I have not shared all 52, nor received them as emails

but it was the right one
'for such a time as this'
in my humble opinion and needy spirit

I would much rather be
"Walking On Weds."
What do you see in the storm?

"God is not the author of fear and doubt."

nor confusion or any other negativity

"Meditate on how you see Him
at work in the storm
describe what you see."
