"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." ~ from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

JUST IN TIME

God's Perfect Timing
Do you know what day it is tomorrow?

'Twas The Night Before Jesus Came
written by Unknown Author

'Twas the night before Jesus came and all through the house
Not a creature was praying, not one in the house.
Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care
In hopes that Jesus would not come there.
The children were dressing to crawl into bed.
Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.
And Mom in her rocker with baby on her lap
Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.
When out of the East there arose such a clatter.
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here.
With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray
I knew in a moment this must be THE DAY!
The light of His face made me cover my head
It was Jesus! returning just like He had said.
And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth,
I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.
In the Book of Life which He held in His hand
Was written the name of every saved man.
He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;
When He said "it's not here" my head hung in shame.
The people whose names had been written with love
He gathered to take to His Father above.
With those who were ready He rose without a sound.
While all the rest were left standing around.
I fell to my knees, but it was too late;
I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate.
I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;
Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.
In the words of this poem the meaning is clear;
The coming of Jesus is drawing near.
There's only one life and when comes the last call
We'll find that the Bible was true after all!

which is an adaption from
the original version of
"Twas the Night Before Christmas"

Thought that might
get your attention!!!
but
 actually
it's
not
CHRISTmas
(not even in China)
Tomorrow is
EPIPHANY
Sunday
or
commonly known here
in Mexico
as
Día de los 3 Reyes
or
Día de los 3 reyes magos
"Magos"meaning magicians
THREE KINGS DAY
not magicians, or sorcerers or even astrologers
Wise Men ~ Royalty

Los Tres Reyes in Mexico

In English, Catholics use "Magi"
from whence I got my name
"mazmagi"
for my blogspot
(but I have explained this before here)
for which to me
"Magi" is one who bears gifts
[my previous 3 King's day blog post]

Need I point out that this is also why my background is this and this also goes along with my title of mazes, messes and miracles as well as God's aMazing Grace! The mazes of wandering, the messes that we or even the "wise guys" got into and the miracle of One's humble birth as well as when He comes to be born again in us: Jesus!

This special holiday culminates the 12 days of Christmas (that follow Christmas not precedes) and commemorates the ones bearing gifts from afar, which always falls on January 6th, but since I already have two posts scheduled for that day, I'm preempting the day for a very special way to thank 2 personal gift bearers (at the moment, to remain anonymous) or 3 if you count the one who delivered this box of treasures. They know who they are and the GIFTs of which I speak. I'm sure that I have also shared and written or at least linked to the background on this special day here in Mexico. I believe my link above covers it the best in English! and the story's covered in God's Word the Bible in (note:correction to previous scripture given when first posted)

Matthew 2:1-12
Luke 2
[Mark and John make no comment whatsoever about Jesus' birth]

Suffice it to say, without going into all the details, that I have had my own special EPIPHANY (see here for the definition of this defining moment). You see God's timing is always perfect! He has a reason for each delay or change of circumstances. He knows the plan and He also knows how to rearrange the plan when the need be. He will take the ordinary and make it extraordinary! He takes the divine and makes it supernaturally divine. He allows and chooses unique treasures or uses others to change what may have seemed like the world crashing down all around us, being on a one way crash course to destruction, into a moment to behold and begin again to treasure and be aMazed at how He works all things for good. Or that HE CAN and HE WILL, if only you believe.

His timing is perfect! Although many times, in our own eyes and lack of patience or being able to see clearly beyond our frustrations, tears, cloudy days and ways,
He shines through and calms the waiting and makes a way, as long as we learn to wait. He does have the complete package in store for us! As much as it pains us at times to wait, to trust, to see beyond this moment or tragedy or crisis or problem, there most definitely is an epiphany moment coming to let you know as you grasp on to the last threads of hope: He hears you, He has not abandoned you, You do matter, You are precious to Him! He will use others to be Jesus when you think that you're forgotten or all is lost or there is no hope or what's the difference? He is and He makes the difference.

That was some sidetrack (gee whiz, but, my,oh my, what treasures flow when we sit back and let Him speak or type in this case)

[source] but I actually found it on a blog

All this was to tell you, that I'm going to make a feeble attempt to do my own version of the two above poems (to show you that this does all tie together, sometimes not as well as I'd hoped, but you'll get my drift) A little unsure that I can do justice to this idea, since this is a bit impromptu ...

'Twas the night before 3 King's Day when all through the house;
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;

There were no stockings hung, nor even a chimney to hang them with care,

there was no hope for St. Nick or even a package soon  to be there;

The dogs were all nestled, but not snug in their pet taxi beds,

While visions of chasing and barking rose up in their heads,

And Peggy in her fuzzy red sweats with a hood, not a cap,

Had just settled down in her hammock for worship, not a nap.

When out on the street there arose such a clatter,

She sprang from the hammock to see what was the matter.

Away to the front she flew like a flash,

To stop the 4 dogs, from attacking the stash.

The SUN on the street shone bright with no snow,

yet gave the luster of heaven to objects below;

When, what to my wondering eyes did appear,

But a shiny, new motorcycle, not 8 reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,

I knew in a moment it must be the GIFT.

More rapid than eagles His coursers they came,

And I envisioned other Christmases of past,
as he inquired my name:

no "Not! Dasher, nor! Dancer, nor! Prancer, nor Vixen,

"Not! Comet, or! Cupid, or! Dunder or Blixen;
... but CHIQUI or CHIMI or LUCKY or TOBY...

[bottom left two not here, nor middle black one]

Just "Peggy" I answered, though that's a nickname,
not on my ID; I'm dreadfully know as Margaret legally

"To the top of the gate! to the top of the wall!

Dogs guarding and barking!"dash away all!"

As I go for my passport, I give him a warning,
One of them may bite, it's just not my morning.

So into the house, the coursers I flew,

With this package of treasures and 4 dogs too:

And then in a twinkling, I heard them, not on my roof

But the prancing of paws racing inside, and whoof, whoof

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,

Sent from above, Jesus came with a bound.

He came in the form of the gifts in the box done

And His hands and His heart engraved in each one!

A bundle of treasures were placed on His back,

And He smiled as I opened in awe of this pack.

His eyes - how they twinkled! His dimples how merry,

His cheeks were like roses, His nose like a cherry;

His smile reflected in me, drawn up like a bow,

And the sweet choices within were white as the snow;

The joy of each gift personalized just for me

encircle my heart with love as I put'em under my tree

Jesus had a broad face, not like my little round belly

yet He shook when He laugh'd, like a bowl full of jelly.

He was tender and kind, a right jolly old elf,
I was so delighted when I saw Him in spite of myself;

In each GIFT the gift bearers had chosen, I knew He was pleased and could see
The special meaning each one held and gave me

A wink of His eye and a twist of His head

Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to His work,

And filled all the longings; then turned with a jirk,

And laying His finger, aside from HIS NO's ...

And giving a nod, I knew once again He arose

from deep within each treasure, His gift bearers gave a place,

And they all were so special, like the look on His face:

But I heard Him exclaim, ere He drove out of sight

Jesus came and delivers for a perfect great flight

Happy King's Day to YOU and to all a good night!

... through the hands of the treasures given from above
I received the blessings and restoration of His love
through just TWO, who stepped away from their chore
to make the GIFTs of 3 Wise Men matter much more
to a sister far away, who had nothing to open
or give in return to the TWO, for being Jesus spoken...
A kindred heart that says Thank You and is filled with great LOVE

for the way that they blessed me this way,
in God's Perfect Timing, that came for
3 King's DAY

Once again, if you notice there is more meaning in this, each GIFT is a new treasure meaning so much more than they think, for they chose each one especially and so does Jesus' with HIS wink ... God bless and thank you so much!

*************

I think I may have done better without following the entire poem as was ... but I did try my best!

I'm hoping that this restores your faith and hope with how special a gift becomes in God's Perfect Timing! Faith in God includes faith in His Timing!

He is never too late and never too early. He knows exactly what we need and when. He is not just a SUPER SANTA waiting to dish out whatever you ask for, but yet He longs to surprise you beyond what you may desire, with something afire, that means something much deeper than we may realize at the time and goes beyond the daily needs. He wants us to ask according to His will and He wants us to learn to wait patiently as we trust Him to accomplish or do the impossible! God has a plan! God will complete His plan for you.

Jeremiah 29:10-11
Jeremiah 29:12-13
Jeremiah 29:14

" He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end." Ecclesiastes 3:11

* I'd love to write a prayer (just know that I am) giving thanks or even share more photos of me opening these gifts!(hahaha) But you'll just have to use your imagination and I've used up far too much time and space already, which cannot even come close to expressing all that I feel inside to these two sisters in Christ, who wanted to bless me for Christmas, were disappointed that the mail did not do their part in time, but here it is in time for something even more significant! I'm sure to many of you this post makes no sense, so just relax and be blessed, forget about the holiday stress. It's 2013 and time for HIS PEACE! (that ornament of PEACE was already mine but goes with their GIFT and hung on my tree waiting along with the one for FAITH!)

What's in a NAME?

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet."
Shakespeare ~ Romeo and Juliet

I'm
NEW TO BLOGGING
on
April 3rd, 2008
so
Why MazMagi.blogspot.com?
... and Mazes, Messes & Miracles?...
... aMazing Grace[added later]

Today is my first day of entering the BLOGGING world officially! Up until now, I have just been enjoying reading inspirational blogs of others, mostly Christian women. Today, I launch mine:

Mazes, Messes, Miracles ... aMazing Grace
now
aMazing Grace... Mazes, Messes, Miracles

But instead of giving a purpose for my blog,
or rationale of what I hope to accomplish or post,
I will explain the NAME.

First MazMagi and then aMazing Grace ... Mazes, Messes, Miracles!

MazMagi comes from
Maz for Mazatlan
the place I call home in Mexico
away from home in Minnesota
and
Magi a nickname for my real name.

In Spanish, my real name is a drink or a flower:margarita. I never used my real name in English, except for legal matters or when my father was upset with me, then I heard the whole name!!! Margaret Mary Teresa Anderson... but especially "Margaret Mary" from my dad. It was not a name of endearment but it came to be somewhat more precious when I studied the life of the saint, for which I was named
(a French nun devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus)

Since I can remember, I have gone by "Peggy". Most people don't even understand how it derives from my real name, but it does. My dad would say that there is no "saint" Peggy, so I pray that I'm the first. (Although I believe when I was young, I read a pamphlet on Saint Peggy.) Anyways, my real name Margaret means "pearl" and from there, and other derivatives, comes Peggy.

In Mexico, many with my real name go by "Maggie" which in Spanish is pronounced and spelled Magui. I chose to go by that at first, but I wrote it "Magi" on purpose. The reason was because of Jesus and The Magi at Christmas! The Three Kings, who brought gifts to the baby Jesus were known as The Magi. I added the background from "The Cutest Blog on the Block" for Christmas in honor of this.

2010 and 2011

When I come to Mexico, each trip, I usually try to bring gifts, because the needs of the people are so many! I don't have enough financially, as I found out on my first trip here, to meet so many needs, but my heart just broke with wanting to leave something, whatever I had to those who had less. I quickly decided that the reason I would come back every year was because I had a gift to give: me. Whatever I am, I would give, in the name of Jesus. Be it teacher or friend, I must stir up whatever gift or gifts lie within me to serve the people here in Mexico.

Of course, having a teaching degree, I thought it would be with CHILDREN, because children have held such an important place in my heart and God's, but I was soon to learn that God would use me, mold me, and minister through me with whomever He chooses.

The spiritual gifts that He has enabled me with, He will stir up, exactly what I need in the moment He needs it. If we are open to His Holy Spirit and willing to be used, He will speak to you and through you. His Word will be made real in your daily living!

So I am Magi...His gift...and my gift to Him is wherever He calls me to serve. That is the reason I live! That is the reason for MazMagi...

I really wanted to have my Blog have an inspirational name that reflects God's work in me and my life. I have found such beautiful and meaningful names that others have chosen. Than there are others that are comical and creative! So I wanted one, that one day I would be able to use as a ministry with what I post. I don't know if and when that will happen, so I chose:

...aMazing Grace

Mazes, Messes and Miracles
because I guess that pretty much capsulizes
MazMagi's life.

I have MESSED up many times. I have gone through many trials, tribulations and temptations that have led me through this MAZE, called life or journey and I am aMAZED how God has seen me through the good and the bad.

But, I must admit I want to see many MIRACLES still in my life! I feel that the greatest miracle is the one God does each day in my life...because JESUS, His Son, not only did miracles in His 3 years of ministry, He still CAN do miracles today, through you and me by the power of His Holy Spirit. He is the greatest MIRACLE that came into my life and has had His hand upon me daily still, even when I may not have acknowledged Him or have strayed, HE was THERE & HE IS HERE reaching out, forgiving me, holding me, carrying me, filling me, leading me, completing my journey through this life by and through His Holy Spirit alive in me. The greatest miracle is how Jesus gave His life in exchange for mine, and Rose from the dead, conquered death and sin for me, or YOU-or anyone & everyone who puts their faith in HIM.

"For God so loved YOU and me, that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believes in Him, shall not perish but have LIFE EVERLASTING! "John 3:16

The additional phrase aMazing Grace was added soon after I began, because I am saved by
HIS AMAZING GRACE!
...but for the grace of God, go I...

I am who I am
because
HE is who HE IS!
and by
HIS GRACE
I am being changed
to reflect JESUS!

I added this as my THEME SONG: Amazing Grace: My Chains are Gone by Chris Tomlin and now His aMazing Grace is my main focus, not the mazes, messes or miracles. It is through His Grace that I am free.

I love the original *Amazing Grace but this one by Chris Tomlin tells more of the Freedom I have found in Christ Jesus, which is available through HIS GRACE! Not because I earned it, not because I fought the battle alone to gain this freedom, but because Jesus fights the battle along side me daily, as I put on the FULL ARMOR of CHRIST, HE goes before me and HE already won the victory so that I may have it: aMazing Grace! How sweet the sound!

Isaiah 61 is the one from which I have chosen parts as my Mission verse on top of my page
"...to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor!"

You need to click on Isaiah 61 to read the full 11 verses & have a context to understand better to whom I pray that I will minister or touch with some of God's Grace as He pours through me and my words on each post. I pray that they will be anointed!

..."I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow,
so the Sovereign LORD will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations."
(verse 10-11)

* this version of Amazing Grace is beautifully sung by this 8 yr. old phenomena Rhema Marvanne
