"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair."~from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

APOLOGY to READERS who followed a SEARCH to HERE & didn't find it

On July 18, 2017, I drafted almost 3000 blog posts that I had published since 2008 when I began blogging, rather than edit each one. So if you clicked here from somewhere else and ended up with the post unavailable or error, I am sorry but this is why. It'd be too much work for me to go back and fix them. There's an explanation on 7/19/17 as I'm still learning.

SILENCE & TRUST

While putting together the last post, two songs - neither of which are Christian (although I did find this one while looking for a YT video of these 2) - keep coming to my mind as I try to focus on this week's One Word.*The 1st one, I did manage to link (but maybe you missed it) and the other one is perhaps more well-known and an oldie too but it's still pertinent even more to the times we are living in. I also remember studying this song & its content in one of my advanced high school classes combination of English/Social Studies. I've chosen this video for this song:

[You Tube video]

*[The group that is singing in this link of the 1st song, is the one that I remember most.]

Surprisingly to me, there was also a missionary movie "SILENCE"

"Legendary director Martin Scorsese’s Silence tells the story of two Christian missionaries (Adam Driver and Oscar® nominee Andrew Garfield) who travel to Japan in search of their missing mentor (Academy Award® nominee Liam Neeson) at a time when Christianity was outlawed. When they are captured and imprisoned, both men are plunged into an odyssey that will test their faith, challenge their sanity and, perhaps, risk their very lives." R-rated

My main reason I came back was to share the 2 songs; and also this image from a short  devotional by Cleere Cherry Reaves ... and her declarations from Week 1, page 4-7 in "Revive: Declarations of God's Truth to Renew Your Spirit" but the devotional link is to "Jesus Calling", where I found it

"Declare over your week:

  1. I will believe that God is working all things for my good and His glory by opening and closing doors.
  2. I will put on the full armor of God every day.
  3. I will read the Word and lean into the Spirit for the true definition of good
  4. I will ask for joy, hope, and peace when I need them—confident that Jesus hears me and He will provide.
  5. I will praise God for the week ahead, knowing He is in control and He always operates in love.

Cleere Cherry Reaves book shares TRUST in:

Week 1: TRUST Him with Open and Closed Doors

Week 40: Faithfulness You Can TRUST

Week 49: A Timeline You Can TRUST

so there are plenty of declarations of TRUST & TRUSTING throughout her book.

Here are some:

"I will TRUST that every new horizon brings fresh grace and new mercy."
(p.63)

"I will TRUST God's covering over ...

my health, my finances, my emotions, my family

and my future." (p.15)

"I will TRUST that I have been equipped
with unique gifts for the place the Lord has brought me."
(p.35)

"I will TRUST that I have been prepared for whatever
I will face in the week ahead."
(p.39)

"Convinced that the Shepherd has never led me astray,
I will TRUST Him today."
(p.142)

"Remembering that time is a gift, I will stay
in the present and TRUST God's promises in every process."
(p.207)

One more You Tube video (also new to me) but the lyrics are good:

"Maybe You're speaking through the SILENCE."

"... within the Sounds of SILENCE"

<>
EXTRA  ADDED

I should have waited!

As soon as I hit publish and turned to a devotional reading plan for today, I read this title:

"Moving Toward a Quiet TRUST"

... being quiet, and SILENCE (silent) are pretty much the same

In fact, comparing the Scripture for this reading, in various versions, I found some that had

SILENT

in place of quiet

"... HE can be TRUSTED with what gets done --
and doesn't"

"... We can start our days in a different way.
Our eyes open with a quiet thank-you.
Our first deep breath brings a quiet smile.
A healthy stretch from head to toe releases
our hours into God's hands.
There is nothing more comforting or faithful
than His care."...

"Dear God,
Quiet my heart to hear Your voice,
learn to TRUST,
and let go of the pressures
controlling my day.

I give it all to You & the peace of Your care."

🙏

This is what I need:

to move toward a

Quiet TRUST

"Maybe You're speaking through the SILENCE."

to me

SILENCE ...

"Your security rests in Me alone. And I am totally

TRUSTWORTHY."

"...being worthy of TRUST"

from AI Overview

"Trustworthy" describes someone or something that is reliable, honest,
and can be depended upon (dependable). It implies a quality of being worthy of trust
deserving of confidence, and capable of being relied upon.

I'm kinda awestruck that AI could come up with this independent of a dictionary. (lol)
But this is followed by a more detailed breakdown of each word I have underlined,
yet to save you time I will only share the last (my focus words)

worthy of trust
"This encompasses the idea that someone or something has earned the right
to be believed and relied upon."

Dictionary"
able to be relied on as honest or truthful."

"You will never be in control of your life circumstances, but you can relax and TRUST in My control. Instead of striving for a predictable, safe lifestyle, seek to know Me in greater depth and breadth." from "Jesus Calling", p. 196

"When I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me? —Psalm 56:3–4 "

Although I received this image & email from "Jesus Calling" early in July,
I turned to the full devotion in my "Jesus Calling" book by Sarah Young
because the image and the words on the image holds me in awe
and clearly states my 2025 One Word purpose to

TRUST

reminding me
who is truly worthy of my

TRUST

completely

{and I believed that I had no problem with my TRUST with God/Jesus}

My TRUST problem is with humans.

However, God is allowing me a fresh perspective as I work through this

TRUST

issue

The devotion from Sarah Young starts out with:

"Draw near to Me {sounds like "Abiding ..." time to me & for me} with a
thankful heart, aware that your cup is overflowing with blessings.

then further into our Love-relationship, Sarah writes from Jesus:

"Nothing can separate you from My loving Presence!"
Romans 8:38-39

"that is the basis of your security"

"Whenever you start to feel anxious, remind yourself (of) that..."

[the words that start this image of the lake surrounded by the pines]

The scene is quite familiar to me & similar to where I live and find

my serenity and calm

"...Instead of striving for a predictable, safe lifestyle.
seek to know Me in greater depth and breadth."

"I long to make your life a glorious adventure,
but you must stop clinging to old ways.
I am always doing something new within
My beloved ones. Be on the lookout
{sounds like AWAKE & alert}
for all that I have prepared for you.
Isaiah 43:19

Now that's

TRUSTWORTHY!

<>

So this upcoming week in the

we will continue with #31 (~page 237)

SILENCE

as I hope to spend some time with God
(outside close to that image of nature) ***
pondering how

TRUSTWORTHY

HE IS

and

seeking to be worthy of His TRUST

and working on this with others.

I hope to discover if "SILENCE really is Golden"

Definition and Significance:

"Silence, in the biblical context, often signifies a state of stillness, peace, or reverence before God. It can also represent a period of waiting, reflection, or judgment. Silence is both a physical absence of sound and a spiritual posture of humility and attentiveness to God's presence and voice." Bible Hub

{I considered HOME for our next One Word (after this past week)
it seemed appropriate, but we'll get to it eventually.
It's #56 - so that's the final chapter}

In Jim Branch's (author of online website "room to flourish" we'll be going from Oct 2012 to June of 2014 for days 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 ; or as I've mentioned in the book #31, p. 237 for SILENCE on Monday to Sunday; just continuing where we left off in the book. [Note: the website starts on Sunday - Saturday; so pay no attention to the day if you follow along there. Don't get confused. Listed from his Archive below in reverse order, so start at the bottom & I added the # in between Silence & the day below, but I've also linked the numbers above.]
