"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." ~ from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

Whisper On Weds.
I see as

"My child, I have seen you overcome the pain of your past."

" I have watched and you sought after Me and cried out to Me. You have believed in spite of human understanding and in spite of what surrounds you. Now you are resting in the secure shadow of Almighty, and I am pleased. Faith has won your battle and brought you victory. Yet before you today is a challenge to your faith. Never doubt Me, but move forward and watch Me open new doors for you. I will never leave you nor will I ever fail you when you come in faith to Me.

Continue in the path of peace and let the day bring you more revelation of My strength. Like a gentle rain, the promises over your life will be fulfilled and your prayers will be answered. Watch what I do in the next season of your life to show you My power. I will work in the hearts of those you love, and you will witness My greater love for them. Believe Me today as I give you My heart and My promises. I will never fail you, and those who lean their hearts into Mine will never be disappointed."

a little longer one

"There is nothing I will not conquer when you trust Me & look to Me."

"I will deal swiftly with every plan of the enemy to defeat you or to slow your advance in My ways. There is nothing hidden from My eyes. I call you to walk with Me in Light and never fear the darkness. Shadows will never harm you, even if you were to walk through the darkest valley of despair I am there.

The brightness of My presence will chase away every shadow and remove every fear. I am your shield. I will protect you from the fiercest foe that rises up against you.

Come closer to Me and live close to My heart. I will bring you into the Secret Place and give you rest. Let nothing trouble you, for My presence will be your peace.

Lay your head upon My shoulder and rest with Me. I am a secure place and a Safe Room for you. Entwine your heart with Mine until we are one. Give up trying to please Me, for you already are perfect in My eyes. It is the slanderer who will always wound you in your weakness. I will strengthen you in weakness until you stand complete, wearing My robe, My armor.

Liberate your soul before Me. There is nothing to fear, for I have known all about you and your struggles and still I call you My own, My dear one. Leave behind the world of whispering men and live in Me and listen to My whispers and you will be strong. I will be faithful, even when you see your weak and frail heart, I will be faithful to the end.

Did I not come and wash the feet of those I love? I will wash away the sting of your past and the defilement of your life until even your former ways will be forgotten. Enter into the heavenly realm and take your seat with Me. We will live above the fray. By passing into My presence you will enter the realm of divine love, a perfect love that will cast out every fear.

Come as close to Me as you want to be. Choose the place nearest My heart, the place of deepest love, and I will reveal My glorious secrets to you. It no longer matters if you are alone in your sacred quest. For I will cast out loneliness from your heart. I will draw you deeper into My ways and I will meet every need you have. I will be your Holy Friend and Faithful Lover. You will discover that I am enough. Others will come and go, but you will linger and stay with Me in the sacred solitude.

Enter into My holy ecstasy, the joining of two becoming one. Fuse your spirit into Me, and you will experience what only My sacred lovers know, for I am Satisfaction beyond any pleasure and I am companionship beyond any fellowship known on earth. Enter into My cloud-filled chamber and I will give the wine of My love, the joy of My heart, the peace of My kingdom and the power of My Spirit. You will become the echo of My heartbeat as two hearts beat as one. Sacred union in My chamber will make you a dispenser of mercy to those who mistreat you or misunderstand you. Come and sit with Me on My Mercy Seat, where My love is enthroned." (#24, Vol. 2 of "I Hear His Whisper")

So the healing of the past continues
with the healing balm of this
such a beautiful invitation
to draw closer

"... With no veil and nothing hindering our intimacy with God,
we can come with an unbelievable boldness to His mercy-throne
where we encounter enough grace to empower us through every difficulty.
We find our true life in His presence."Brian Simmons and TPT team

If I could only allow these words to soak and heal
the past and receive all God offers
but the problem is, my past
is not just mine
need healing from the past
as well
yet we
who know God
trust and believe
His Promises in His Word
that others have yet to accept
like never before
I have seen and begun
to understand
"hurt people hurt people"
the impact of wrong (or right) choices
that entangle our life journeys
into other's journeys
cycles that continue that must be broken
in Jesus' name
but first
need to surrender, admit and accept
His Mercy seat
meant for all

[if only Brian Simmons and TPT through Broad Publishing knew how timely these devotional books of God's whispers are because even though I have the books, reading the chosen ones sent by them on a given day, just seem to speak to my heart from God at that time, whereas reading in the books would not necessarily be as timely. The boxed devotionals are not mine, and no copyright infringement is intended. All credit belongs to Brian Simmons, TPT and Broad Publishing. You too can receive these "whispers" in your email or through these two volumes of the devotional books.]

God knows and has control over my emails!
I receive - timely.

S.O.S. ~ so many GOOD choices

It's been quite some time since I have shared any

{it's had different meanings}

but most often and lately

it has stood for

Study On SONday

(especially if it's posted Sun. around 6 p.m. like this)
however originally

A bottle with SOS washed up on the shore
was thought to stand for "help" as in "Save Our Ship" even "Save Our Souls" as a distress signal yet those were after thoughts (known as backronyms) yet on this blog, it stood for

with a song, scripture, scene and later added sermon and studies

but I have digressed from the reason I've not been sharing any

it's not because I am not doing any

nor that I don't have a song, scripture, scene or something that I'm soaking in/on

it's because I have too many and have gone in
too many directions
yet somehow God is weaving them together
or else I'd be sending out a real
for HELP from
you and God
as I'm still being
(yes, that is the last study I began sharing
but have not kept up with that here)

Here are the sessions:

but I now have a worse dilemma:
I have two or maybe more that I have signed up for this summer
starting soon (I think) in June and
perhaps you remember that I paused midstream in

"You Are Free"
by Rebekah Lyons

(hoping I'd be able to get back to it and finish it)

so that I could start

"REDEEMED" by Angela Thomas-Pharr

mostly because I can't choose

when I read about the Online Bible Study

I'm sure it's the ONE that God is leading me to do until ...

I read the next one that comes along

after I already signed up

one of these is one that I purchased quite some time ago

and decided that I couldn't do it because as I opened to the beginning, I felt that I needed the DVDs to go with the study to really be able to do it and now I'll have that opportunity so I don't want to miss out and because it's Lifeway's Beth Moore's:

A Study of 2nd Timothy

(which contains my life verse)

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." (NKJV) 2 Timothy 1:7 You see, God did not give us a cowardly spirit but a powerful, loving, and disciplined spirit. (TheVoice)

They ALL are so good and I'm thankful that they are being offered online
but not all at once ... yet truthfully, I don't think I've ever seen
a Bible Study that isn't good, just some speak to us more clearly
in the current season of our life journey and where we're at ...

so I guess this is an indication that I need this other one too

the other choice over at

Faith Gateway OBS

is an excellent one from another excellent author

Anne Graham Lotz

the wisdom offered through the book of Daniel, his prayer and

Anne Graham Lotz
who was Chair of the National Day of Prayer
(if you missed hearing her, I recommend strongly you check this out)

[the National Prayer]

plus over at You Version, I'm working through
and I have more saved to read

all of these helping me with

which one is for you?
which one do you think is for me?

Pray that I can receive from God what He believes is meant to guide me

And I can't believe that there is actually ANOTHER study that I must share ...(that's besides Margaret Feinberg's (Philippians) and Bonnie Gray's book club (Whispers of Rest) and probably others too) ... by another outstanding author with the OBS ministry of Proverbs 31: Jennifer Rothschild's "Me, Myself and Lies" ...  boy, oh, boy ... like I wrote above: too many really good and needed studies this summer and very difficult to choose between them for me. God's working overtime to offer so many ways to HEAL ... that's what these studies offer besides the actual study and content - ways to heal and grow beyond where you are with a better understanding of God's Truth. I'm pretty sure that "Entrusted" will take most of my 'extra' time, but I hope to follow along with the others as able.

Join our next Online Bible Study!

{beginning to think I really need Bonnie's on "...Rest..." after all this, so I ordered it}

As you can perhaps tell by now, I missed sharing my
Walk On Weds.
due to 'storms'
tornadoes, thunderstorms
and those other storms
we all walk through
yet even through
these storms
heard a special
earlier this week
in two TPT emails
from a book
written by
Brian Simmons
{there are now 2 volumes}

"...Today's 'whisper' is a love letter from the Father reminding us of His consistent presence; that He holds tight to our heart and soul even when we are in our darkest hour." Brian Simmons &TPT Team

These words are so special to me and I hope you find
a part of this 'whisper' echoes in your heart too
as an encouragement or a much needed
short and  sweet
of HIS Presence and Love

"I HEAR HIS WHISPER... "Never let go of hope"

"Even in your darkest hour I will not abandon you. Speak these words over your soul: Even in your darkest hour I will not abandon you. I will heal you, I will bring My love and place it over your heart until you can say, "All is well."

Never let go of your confidence, for I will be more than enough for you. There may be a mother that could abandon her child, but I will never abandon you. Your very life is Mine and I have engraved you as nail prints into the palms of My hands. When I look at My hands I remember you and the price I paid to make you mine.
You may pass through the valley of deepest darkness and grief, but I am there with you. Your tears are liquid words and I can read them all. The ways of the world have never brought peace to your soul, but I have. Rest, beloved, in My love this day and know that in your darkness hours I will not abandon you, for we are one. Never let go of hope.from Brian Simmons

Hebrews 13:5-6 The Passion Translation

"...live content with what you have, for you always have God’s presence.
For hasn’t He promised you, 'I will never leave you alone, never! And I will not loosen my grip on your life!' So we can say with great confidence: 'I know the Lord is for me and I will never be afraid of what people may do to me!"

then He invites me (us) with this

"Spend time with Me"

"I give you strength as you give Me time. The moments that you spend to speak with Me and listen to Me are moments filled with eternity. There is no weakness, no wavering, no doubting in My presence. This is where I energize your being, in My presence. Many influences have affected your life and your thoughts, but as you come into My glory I lavish upon you what you need the most, My love and My strength. So easily you are distracted and disturbed, so faithfully you must come and be with Me.

The peace I bring to you is not comparable to the peace known on earth. It transcends your mortal life and streams to you from My river of tranquility that pours from My throne of grace. Peace like a river will subdue your soul and wash away the words of hopelessness and pain. Come into My river of peace and float on My promises, you will never be disappointed. Listen to Me and peace will be your pillow to rest your anxious thoughts.

In My love you are able to do all things, for I strengthen you with My love. People make demands on your time and your thoughts, I wait for you to come and draw you closer when you choose Me above your friends and your family. Come as My dearest one and I will give you grace for your dearest ones on earth, so that you may show them My love.

When you give Me your time I give you My strength. Are you weak? Then come before Me until you are bathed in power. No human can empower you, for their weapons are puny and helpless. Trust in My strength, not in the affirmation of others. Watch Me work in your heart this day as you "waste" your time in My presence. I will pour you out upon the earth as My gift, My treasure, full of My love." from Brian Simmons

Can't think of any better way
to spend
a rainy or stormy day

(or evening)

I know I need all the strength I can get from Him in the face of every kind of 'storm'

WOW ~ "Your breakthrough is near"

I actually have a

for this week

I could not wait to share

- and this Walk On Weds. holds a special Whisper On Weds. -

so it's a double-fold blessing that makes me so ready to

Worship On Weds.

which makes this a three-cord

I don't know for sure about you, but I certainly needed this

WORD On Weds.

that came as a welcomed

from The Passion Translation by Brian Simmons & team

                     James 4:6-8
"He continues to pour out more and more grace upon us! For it says, 'God resists you when you are proud but continually pours out grace when you are humble.' So then, surrender to God. Stand up to the devil and resist him and he will turn and run away from you. Move your heart closer and closer to God, and He will come even closer to you."        ~The Passion Translation

Read and Receive this as I do as

I HEAR HIS WHISPER... "Your breakthrough is near"

{bold type and underline is mine}

"I have opened the heavens over your heart and over your home. You have access into My glory as you come before Me with a tender heart. Many times you have come, but come again! I have heard your cries, your sighs to know Me and to see My glory in your situation. I have opened the skies over your home so that My glory was fall upon you and your loved ones. Trust in Me for your family and for every need that is before you. Have I ever failed to provide for all that you lack? Now trust Me again and watch the miracle be released.

Those who love Me trust Me. Those who have believed in My power to raise the dead know that I am more than enough and always faithful. Rest in the strength of My love for you this day and you will see more and more of My breakthroughs. To break open the way for you is My delight, for I have set My love upon you and will rescue you when you call out to Me. Even as I taught My servant David how to win in every battle, I will come to you and give you victory-keys that will unlock your breakthrough. But come to Me in faith and you will see what I have held in My hands for you -- a triumph and breakthrough no one else can give you! Is there anything impossible when I come to fight for you?

This is a day of might and power for all My lovers who trust in Me. There will many who will tell you to quit, to leave, to walk away. But I whisper into your spirit- 'Come closer to Me!'

The days of heaven on earth will now be revealed. My outpouring and outshining will be seen in the heavens and on the earth. Never fear the reports of men, for I am the God of the Great Reversal, and I promise that the days of many changes will result in the days of many miracles!
So as the heavens open over your home, believe in Me for all that you ask for. There is no one I can cannot touch and convert and transform as you pray to Me. The unveiling of mysteries will be seen in the next few days as you continue to walk with Me. Even now I have sent My angels to bring to the earth the trumpet message of My appearing. Listen to those whose voices are like trumpets and they will gather you into My Sanctuary and speak the words that have been spoken above, for these are the days that I will pour out heaven onto the earth and shake all that must be shaken so that you will come before Me with the purest of faith."~Brian Simmons, "I Hear His Whisper", Vol. 2 - #20

Yes, brokenness lends to some breakthrough

and hopefully much healing

"being redeemed is about being changed"

which is a growing-lifelong process

at least it seems that way

for me

this "whisper" today

God's Word from the book of James

according to the TPT team

"Don't let daily struggles and hardship dissolve your faith. The book of James is clear such experiences are never a waste, there’s a goal:Spiritual maturity born through perseverance."
Brian Simmons and Your TPT Team

fills me with much

God's Plan

Yes, Lord You are more than enough and always faithful!

I read this article and decided to listen to

Darlene Zschech

{she always ministers to me}

You would think since I just came home last fall that I'm done "being sent" and I would have had my fill yet I have been praying fervently about this because I attended a meeting at my "new church" for a short-term mission trip to El Salvador this summer (July-August) {I was going to ask for prayers about this but it's happened so quickly for me}and deadline for the first deposit was just this past Sunday and I did not make it. Yet the "mission" there and the hosting missionaries and mission serve both in El Salvador and Guatemala and will still be in my prayers, thoughts and perhaps one day ... a place that God may "send me"... once again ... but, for now, I remain where He's placed me ... encouraged that this "whisper" came on last Friday (which I didn't read until later, as well as the reminder email from the mission trip team leader) so ... I trust that God is at work and a breakthrough is on its way so I wait and trust and give thanks in this waiting season, learning to be content in what is and what will be in Jesus Christ

Earth Psalms

This isn't a book review

it's just a very strong gift recommendation

for you or someone you love

maybe for this

Mother's Day

any special day or just a day that you'll make special for them

I just happened upon it at our nearby public library and I wish I could keep it checked out to read one each week of the year (because there are 52 beautiful devotions and reflections!!!) You can check out some at Francine Rivers website!

Unique Environments

every one is this awesome

pointing us to our

I'd love to be "gifting" this book to each of us!

For now,
I'll be content with my library version before it's due
(in two weeks???-not use to this again yet)

{Very impressed that someone requested or chose this
along with some other really great choices
although I am far from short on books to read,
I couldn't pass this one up!}

Each devotional is personalized lessons in nature
starting with a scripture verse,
followed by "Reflect, Apply, Connect (prayer)" sections
ending with a Psalm
however what makes it unique are the exquisite
photographs throughout the 208 pages
plus often a part of a hymn or song

You have to have the hardbound copy to hold
because the Kindle version
just does not do justice
to the images

Of course, the real Artist is God and His handiwork in nature!

"For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they (we) can clearly see His invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature. So (we) they have no excuse for not knowing God."Intro

lines up perfectly with the online study of reading Psalms with the book

"Redeemed ..."

Angela Thomas-Pharr

"... God speaks through nature"
(the rest of the title of "Earth Psalms: reflections on how ...)

this is clearly shown in this book and words

You do realize another selling or buying point for me
in any devotional are the prayers
here is a sample of one
that goes with her #16 devotion
of my life verse
2 Timothy 1:7

"Dear God, so often I feel like a turtle,
retreating into my shell because it's safe.
But making safety my first priority won't lead to growth.
I don't want to miss the opportunities around me
because I'm too afraid to take a risk.
You have given me a spirit of courage.
Please help me to trust You,
to trust Your love for me and Your good plans for my life.
Help me to move forward in courage."

"Worship is Life"

God is so worthy of us living lives of worship!

in wonder and in awe

this precious family was certainly out for a

that caused them to take a dive into cold waters

before I leave this

let me share this playlist from one of my

You Version reading plan

"Labyrinth by David Baloche"

which fits with my theme for today

(see not at the end)

As I continue reading my daily reading plans, a couple of studies, and books, one which I need to review - long ago, I must share at least that this particular book (which I will be giving a 'highly recommended' 4-5 star rating, meaning it's so worth getting, especially at this price) - so I'm sharing the email in its entirety with a sample of her writing that I received today from the author, Esther Fleece announcing the $1.99 Kindle monthly ebook deal of

INFO: No More Faking Fine is on the Kindle Monthly eBook Deal! Please purchase for you or a friend at the discounted rate of $1.99. Sale starts today and goes until the end of the day, May 31st.
They say grief happens sometimes in threes-when difficult things pile up on one other. My friend recently got into a car accident that totaled her car. The following day she was rear-ended in her rental car. Her third car that the week was hit by a rock in her line of vision causing her to replace the windshield (on a rental car)!

Have you experienced moments in life when hard things keep piling up?

This has been quite a year from me. Coming out of a forced season of rest from the Lord, the “go” throttle has been full on. A romantic relationship turning into engagement. A short engagement turning into wedding planning in the midst of a book launch. Taking my things out of storage after three years and saying goodbye, moving, unpacking, finding community, and renovating a house. All the good took more out of me than I expected. Turning a house into a home and preparing my heart to be a bride were all full time jobs. Not to mention my real full time job of writing, editing, marketing and launching my life work in No More Faking Fine.

And while the “new” and “change” and happy things piled up, so did the sad.

A rejection from a lifelong mentor. Hurtful texts from people I considered friends. False accusations. Questions of my character. A lost speaking engagement due to a slanderous accusation. Grieving the loss of my biological dad. Wedding planning in a city without family or friends around.
Remember when I said every change requires a lament? Sometimes the good piles up – and sometimes so does the hard.
And so I am stepping away for a little while. I’m not stepping away out of surrender; not stepping away out of sadness, or a scandal or being burned out. Simply stepping away because I know it is what my heart needs as I long to sit and seek and to be with Him.
And to be with God not for what I can get out of Him, but rather to be near to Him. I don’t want to learn from God only so that I can teach it to others, I want to learn from God because I know He is infinitely wise and I am in need of Him. We all need seasons of work and seasons of rest.
As I was contemplating a season away, God showed me where there are seasons of work, and seasons to stop working in the biblical Calendar. The Festival of Trumpets and The Festival Tabernacles (Numbers 29) give us these examples.

“On the first day of the seventh month hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. It is a day for you to sound the trumpets. As an aroma pleasing to the Lord,” Numbers 29:1-2

There is so much to celebrate with the launch of this book. Your support has helped it to reach people I could never dream of it reaching. God’s name has been lifted up. He has shown Himself to us as a God who hears us (1 John 5:14) and concerns Himself with our cries.
It’s tempting when we launch into something new for God to want to carry that work in a way that burns us out. I’ve lost count of how many interviews I have done since January. Unsure of how many thousands of people I have spoken with since the book tour began seven months ago. Not even sure how many states I’ve traveled to. And while I am grateful for these opportunities, I can also see why it is easy for Christian leaders and speakers to turn into narcissists. Constantly talking about what we learned and what we did and what we are going to do next. Any message that is focused on us without a time to pause is dangerous territory.
So I am remembering to pause again. There will always be places to go, people to see, work to do, but now is the time to rest. I want to give thanks for what He has already done, not always looking ahead when I can thank Him today.

“On the tenth day of the seventh month hold a sacred assembly. You must deny yourselves and do not work.” Numbers 29:7

I will continue to update you here (via e-mail) once a month. Unlike many authors with ministries or full time staffs, it’s just me! So thank you for your understanding and for your prayers. And by all means – please continue to share (& live!) the message of No More Faking Fine.

“The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.”

Psalm 126:3

Reflection Question:
1. What would it look like for you to pause from work every seven months to consider what God has done?
2. Contemplate how you can incorporate rest into your busy calendar
Recommended Reading:
1. The Festival of Weeks: Numbers 28:26
2. The Festival of Trumpets: Numbers 29:1
3. The Day of Atonement: Numbers 29:7
4. The Festival of Tabernacles: Numbers 29:12
Almighty God, please help me to work hard for you, and rest well, recognizing both seasons are gifts from you. Help me to pause so I can remember the work you have done, and refresh myself in You for the work You are calling me to do. I acknowledge that I am limited, and I need your help to pause. Thank you for being limitless and I rely on this to help me in every area. Thank you God, for all the gifts you have given to me. In Jesus name, Amen.
