"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair."~from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

APOLOGY to READERS who followed a SEARCH to HERE & didn't find it

On July 18, 2017, I drafted almost 3000 blog posts that I had published since 2008 when I began blogging, rather than edit each one. So if you clicked here from somewhere else and ended up with the post unavailable or error, I am sorry but this is why. It'd be too much work for me to go back and fix them. There's an explanation on 7/19/17 as I'm still learning.

Standing on the PROMISES ... 2020 ...

The end of 2020 is finally here

however

the pandemic and all the hard times

are not over nor ending

so

I WILL STAND ON

GOD'S

PROMISES

{clipped from another image from SharonJaynes*}

I am so ready to leave 2020 behind, but not at all sure if I'm ready to move on from the One Word I had from God for 2020 ... PROMISES ... it may be because I wasn't able to compose a post summarizing how God spoke His PROMISES and this One Word over and over in so many ways throughout 2020; all that I have learned and all that I found I have yet to learn of God's Promises in His Word. Perhaps I'm not ready for 2021 because I have not yet heard a new One Word for 2021, so I seem to think that this means I stay with the same Word, which has an endless supply in God's Word of so many PROMISES given to us.

I hope to come back to this post (or a Part 2) and finish my thoughts on my One Word or share some more on PROMISES, but this day has left me with other concerns that have prevented me from clearing my mind enough to do justice to God's PROMISES from 2020, yet I sure am glad that this was my One Word. One of the main things that I did learn is that I need to learn more about God's PROMISES, but more importantly how to distinguish them in the scriptures as PROMISES, because as my title states, it's all about "Standing on His Promises".

THIS is what I (and you) need to do ... stand ... stand firm ... because His Word never fails & we must stand and claim His Word, His Promises as ours ... not just read the Bible, the words, but turn the scriptures into prayers & speak them into our lives & others, receive His many PROMISES as ours. So I'll be back... meanwhile this video will direct & inspire us:

His PROMISES

* the full quote from Sharon J. says,
"We must move from knowing God's Promise,
to believing the Promise
to actually
Taking Hold of the Promise
through obedient action in order to make it
a reality in our lives."
from Sharon J.'s book, "Taking Hold of the Faith You Long For."

If God does not give me a new One WORD for 2021
this is what I intend to do
TAKE HOLD of HIS PROMISES
as I continue with
PROMISES

UPDATE
1/1/2021

[I think I have my verse but still not sure which word is
my new ONE WORD for 2021]

Rather than rewrite what I have been reading or attempt to summarize the year of 2020 focused on GOD'S PROMISES, I decided to share some links as I tried to categorize which PROMISES were personally key to my life or the main themes of PROMISES as I think I shared initially in 2020 when I shared the resources that I began with ... particularly from "BIBLE PROMISES for WOMEN" (a beautiful gift given to me from a precious sister & friend in Christ, that will last into eternity - the book and its contents as well as our relationship into eternity, she is truly a cherished treasure in my life journey)!!!and "THE ONE YEAR book of PRAYING the PROMISES of GOD" by Cherri Fuller & Jennifer Kennedy Dean (highly recommend) or you can try a 20 day sample at You Version (bible.com) for another similar one called "NIV Once a Day Bible Promises" (also a great book)

LINKS: "What are the Promises of God?" and other related posts listed at the end

Of course, 365 Promises.com, which I shared each month but it's worth opening on the Daily Promise each day.  I know you'll love the beautiful images & short devotion for each day of the year, to start your day.

"The 7 PROMISES of God" {Before I decided to share the links, I was just going to share these PROMISES, because they seem to sum up PROMISES, but chose to link you to The Inspiration Cafe blog so you can read more}

I have arranged them differently for myself but truthfully I have seen them all in 2020 and throughout my life journey & they all add up to the last & really go together - and I can add others & where it says "I will give you PEACE... that could be HOPE, JOY, etc. because God PROMISES us all of this & much more when He gave us HIS WORD and was "Pointing to the PROMISE" - JESUS!

I will be your STRENGTH!
I will BE WITH YOU!
I will ANSWER you!
I will give you PEACE!
I will PROTECT you!
I will PROVIDE for you!
I will always LOVE YOU!

CHRISTMAS 2020 PROMISED

Let's

CELEBRATE

2020

CHRISTmas

and

CHERISH

CHRIST

"The PROMISED One"

So many PROMISES given to us in God's Word, the Bible and so much to share about "the PROMISED One" and these Promises, but not enough time to concentrate and compile all this right now. Encountered my Word for 2020 everywhere throughout this year, seeing it surface and noticing the word PROMISE in so many places and reading it especially during this final season of 2020. PROMISE (in various forms of the word) seems to be the focus in many readings and prominent in many sites this Advent, like First 5's Advent plan: "Pointing to the Promise". Clearly, even the skies were pointing us to the Promised One, on December 21st, 2020. For me, through this very difficult year for everyone, there was a thread of PROMISES and God trying to point us all to the Promise; His Promise, the Promised One - Jesus Christ!

I'm certainly not able to summarize my 2020 Word PROMISE yet.

Instead I will share today some You Tube videos from a YouVersion Bible reading plan by the LUMO ProjectThe Promised One-the Everlasting Gift (they're short, but very inspirational & authentic looking)

1."Out of the Darkness" The Promised One
2. "Praising the Promise Keeper"
3."The Rising Sun"
4."Light of the World"
5."Victorious Power"

"...Lord, thank You for Your promises. Every word You’ve spoken will be fulfilled because You are faithful. Help me see Your character and give me faith today to believe You and respond with praise. Amen.(day 2)

"... by cherishing the Promises of God, you can break the power of anxiety, despondency, covetousness, bitterness, pride, impatience, misplaced shame & more..." John Piper

Thank You
for the incredible Gift that is found in Jesus
even when ...

2020
happens

You are faithful to Your Promises!

Thank You Father
for the Gift that keeps on giving!

Debbie McDaniel has written some prayers that I'd like to share:
A Prayer for Christmas Day, A Prayer for Those Who are Weary, and many more

And even Christine Wyrtzen and Jaime Wyrtzen Lauze, have named their website  Daughters of Promise ... I have delighted in the emails I receive from them.

As you can see, God had so much PROMISE for me and you, in 2020, if we open our eyes, our hearts and our minds to the Promised One!

Wishing you all a blessed and merry Christmas in 2020, filled with God's Promises for now and forever! (looking forward to what's coming, in Christ Jesus) ~ Peggy

CLAIMING HIS PROMISES ...

This is the perfect image for the 2020 Word I was given that I am holding on to this throughout this year and forever, from Dr. David Jeremiah, Turning Point ... for a Prayer Guide, being promoted and given as they Move Forward, with his newest book "Forward" which is on his television, radio, online event series, encouraging us that it's time for us to move forward: Claiming His Promises, Reclaiming His Power, Proclaiming His Peace as we pray. However, I'm not using the image only to promote watching, listening and Praying (with or without this prayer guide) but because it so vividly depicts my 2020 WORD: Promise!

... and that I was led to this today, a significant day for me, (and our Lighthouse of Prayer blog) of our dear and precious sister in Christ, Denise Oldham, better known to many of us as "Shortybear", who stepped into heaven on this day in 2017, gone from here, but lives on in our hearts and memories, our sweet prayer warrior - the anchor with Jesus at our Lighthouse of Prayer (which currently is not being kept up, except for one more post since she left us).

I miss her dearly, but find comfort recalling our earthly time together -only online, yet ever so close, as if we've known each other for ever and will one day meet in person in heaven (as is with many of you). There is so much to remember about Denise fondly. She made an imprint throughout blog-land by her precious, sweet spirit ... and lives on each time I come across her comments, or return to her little prayers, videos, emails, or say a prayer for her Lovebug & Coco, (wherever they may be and whatever they're doing) Denise, would not want them to be forgotten either or the rest of her family, like her dad ... which was her last blog post & video "Dancing with Dad" and now Denise is dancing with Jesus!

So
today
let us rejoice
dance
and
remember
Denise
as we
continue to pray
claiming
God's Promises

I do encourage you to join Dr. Jeremiah's campaign Forward and pray as I'm sure Denise would also ... and sing for us "To Turn Our Eyes Upon Jesus" (not Denise) or this one which is!

“Lord, in the midst of the world’s madness thank You for being ever-near to us! We know You are working on our behalf in all things, both good and bad, so we can CLAIM Your promises, RECLAIM Your power, and PROCLAIM Your peace in our lives. May we be grounded in Your Word, strengthened by Your truth, and directed by Your Spirit! Let us pray without ceasing, preach wholeheartedly, and love unconditionally. Your blessings are many. Your promises are comforting. Your love undeserving. Thank you. Amen!” Turning Point, Dr. David Jeremiah

Friday's television show with Dr. Jeremiah: FINISH: You're Not Done until You're Done

Let's continue FORWARD with Jesus in 2020 and beyond!

I love You Lord and you 💜 too Denise!

To my faithful visitors;
all of you who spend your valuable time here with me
I do appreciate you so much!

Thank you for taking your time to visit!

Love, Sweet blessings & Hugs!

DIOS TE BENDIGA
GOD BLESS YOU

always
