"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair."~from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

APOLOGY to READERS who followed a SEARCH to HERE & didn't find it

On July 18, 2017, I drafted almost 3000 blog posts that I had published since 2008 when I began blogging, rather than edit each one. So if you clicked here from somewhere else and ended up with the post unavailable or error, I am sorry but this is why. It'd be too much work for me to go back and fix them. There's an explanation on 7/19/17 as I'm still learning.

Standing on the PROMISES ... 2020 ...

The end of 2020 is finally here

however

the pandemic and all the hard times

are not over nor ending

so

I WILL STAND ON

GOD'S

PROMISES

{clipped from another image from SharonJaynes*}

I am so ready to leave 2020 behind, but not at all sure if I'm ready to move on from the One Word I had from God for 2020 ... PROMISES ... it may be because I wasn't able to compose a post summarizing how God spoke His PROMISES and this One Word over and over in so many ways throughout 2020; all that I have learned and all that I found I have yet to learn of God's Promises in His Word. Perhaps I'm not ready for 2021 because I have not yet heard a new One Word for 2021, so I seem to think that this means I stay with the same Word, which has an endless supply in God's Word of so many PROMISES given to us.

I hope to come back to this post (or a Part 2) and finish my thoughts on my One Word or share some more on PROMISES, but this day has left me with other concerns that have prevented me from clearing my mind enough to do justice to God's PROMISES from 2020, yet I sure am glad that this was my One Word. One of the main things that I did learn is that I need to learn more about God's PROMISES, but more importantly how to distinguish them in the scriptures as PROMISES, because as my title states, it's all about "Standing on His Promises".

THIS is what I (and you) need to do ... stand ... stand firm ... because His Word never fails & we must stand and claim His Word, His Promises as ours ... not just read the Bible, the words, but turn the scriptures into prayers & speak them into our lives & others, receive His many PROMISES as ours. So I'll be back... meanwhile this video will direct & inspire us:

as we

BEGIN AGAIN

in

2021

humbly

yielded to Jesus

Ground yourself in God's Promises

" HOPE reminds us that HE has a plan and a PROMISE for us!"

Wishing

you all a

blessed & happy

New Year!

May 2021 be far better than 2020 & draw us closer to God

through

His PROMISES

in His Word

the Bible

* the full quote from Sharon J. says,
"We must move from knowing God's Promise,
to believing the Promise
to actually
Taking Hold of the Promise
through obedient action in order to make it
a reality in our lives."
from Sharon J.'s book, "Taking Hold of the Faith You Long For."

If God does not give me a new One WORD for 2021
this is what I intend to do
TAKE HOLD of HIS PROMISES
as I continue with
PROMISES

UPDATE
1/1/2021

[I think I have my verse but still not sure which word is
my new ONE WORD for 2021]

Rather than rewrite what I have been reading or attempt to summarize the year of 2020 focused on GOD'S PROMISES, I decided to share some links as I tried to categorize which PROMISES were personally key to my life or the main themes of PROMISES as I think I shared initially in 2020 when I shared the resources that I began with ... particularly from "BIBLE PROMISES for WOMEN" (a beautiful gift given to me from a precious sister & friend in Christ, that will last into eternity - the book and its contents as well as our relationship into eternity, she is truly a cherished treasure in my life journey)!!!and "THE ONE YEAR book of PRAYING the PROMISES of GOD" by Cherri Fuller & Jennifer Kennedy Dean (highly recommend) or you can try a 20 day sample at You Version (bible.com) for another similar one called "NIV Once a Day Bible Promises" (also a great book)

LINKS: "What are the Promises of God?" and other related posts listed at the end

Of course, 365 Promises.com, which I shared each month but it's worth opening on the Daily Promise each day.  I know you'll love the beautiful images & short devotion for each day of the year, to start your day.

"The 7 PROMISES of God" {Before I decided to share the links, I was just going to share these PROMISES, because they seem to sum up PROMISES, but chose to link you to The Inspiration Cafe blog so you can read more}

I have arranged them differently for myself but truthfully I have seen them all in 2020 and throughout my life journey & they all add up to the last & really go together - and I can add others & where it says "I will give you PEACE... that could be HOPE, JOY, etc. because God PROMISES us all of this & much more when He gave us HIS WORD and was "Pointing to the PROMISE" - JESUS!

I will be your STRENGTH!
I will BE WITH YOU!
I will ANSWER you!
I will give you PEACE!
I will PROTECT you!
I will PROVIDE for you!
I will always LOVE YOU!
