"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." ~ from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

WORD FILLED WEDNESDAY then you'll love SUPER SUNDAY!
[it's posted later in the day on Saturday]
Won't you consider giving it a try?
I'm sharing the following song because it beautifully says what I believe! It is in English followed by Spanish! I'm sure you'll notice when Crystal Lewis changes.
It is on these beliefs that I live and pray. It is through God's Word that I know these truths to be true and real to me. These basic beliefs give me the basis from which I pray and serve here in Mexico. Someone recently shared a Beth Moore teaching to explain something vital in my life, and these are "spine" issues ...not "rib" issues. And on these LORD, I STAND!
Lord I Believe in You
English lyrics (blue)
Spanish lyrics (green)
Though I can't see Your holy face, and Your Throne in heaven above, it seems so far away.
Aún sin poder tu santo rostro contemplar Y aunque tu trono arriba en los cielos
And though I can't touch, can't touch Your nail scarred Hands, I have a deep unspeakable joy, that makes my faith to stand.
Lejos parace estar... Aún sin poder le herida de tus manos tocar
Hay en mi alma un gozo profundo Que hace mi fe vibrar
Lord I believe in You. I'll always believe in You. Though I can't see You with my eyes, deep in my heart Your presence I find.
Cristo yo creo en ti Yo siempre creeré en ti Aunque no puede verte Señor Eres real en mi corazón
Lord I believe in You. And I'll keep my trust in You. Let this whole world say what they may, no one can take this joy away. Lord I believe. Cristo yo creo en ti Por siempre creeré en ti Aunque se nigue el mundo a creer No dejaré mi gozo perder Yo creo en ti
You died for all sin. And then You rose and now live again. Concurring death and a grave, so that I might live!

Enviado del cielo

Eres aquel escojido por Dios

Eres el unico y cierto camino

Hasta su corazón

Moriste en la cruz Resucitaste y hoy vives en mí Venciste al pecado y la muerte ¡Y ahora soy libre al fin!
Lord I believe in You. I'll always believe in You. Though I can't see You with my eyes, deep in my heart Your presence I find. Lord I believe in You. And I'll keep my trust in You. Let this whole world say what they may, no one can take this joy away. Lord I believe

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thanksgiving and Prayer
3I thank my God every time I remember you. 4In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

7It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart; for whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God's grace with me. 8God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

9And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, 11filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God....

19And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

20To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

THIS IS MY 300th POST!

"These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren." Acts 1:14

Taken from Beth over at the Lighthouse of Prayer:

First, I want to welcome everyone to our new home!! This blog is devoted to prayer and prayer alone. If you're a new visitor, you might want to stop by here and read the introduction so you can learn what is happening here! You'll also see the prayer requests and responses that others have left. You do not need to leave your prayer request in the form of a prayer, but others will respond to whatever you have in your heart or on your mind in prayer to Our Father. I'm very excited about this new venture that God has set me and the others involved upon--interactively praying for others, interceding with them to God on their behalf.

TO READ MORE please go here.

On the LIGHTHOUSE of PRAYER we interactively share in one accord in PRAYER. Bring your prayer needs, requests, daily prayer, share in praying by commenting with a prayer at the LIGHTHOUSE of PRAYER. Make it your daily place to leave a prayer for the day or come when you read somewhere that someone needs PRAYER! Some of us are called to a ministry of intercession but we ALL are called to pray!

PLEASE WON'T YOU COME & PRAY or SHARE A PRAYER NEED

My review of January 2009

FOCUS: HOPE
"Called to Be Free to Follow Jesus"
was my Bible Reading Guide for the month of January

For February it will be "Called to Be Free to Share God's Love"

My BIBLE READING included readings from the Gospels of Mark primarily, Matthew & John, Psalm 72 and Acts (this is the most recent readings). Acts always inspires me! My prayer concern is for those who offer intercessory prayer for others.

I praise you, Lord God, for the joy that comes from serving you. Help me to be a source of encouragement for others. Strengthen my faith and teach me the discipline of fasting and praying. Amen.

The theme in Psalm 72 is JUSTICE, RIGHTEOUSNESS...the following is what impacts me the most:

"He will  judge your people in righteousness, your afflicted ones with justice.

3 The mountains will bring prosperity to the people,

the hills the fruit of righteousness.

4 He will defend the afflicted among the people

and save the children of the needy
       He will crush the oppressor.

I do not think that I need to say anything more because the message is loud and clear.
WE NEED TO PRAY!
GOD'S WORD NEVER FAILS!
Memory verses:
Rom.5:5, Jer.29:11, 2 Cor. 2:14-15

"But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well."

Pero Busquen primero el reino de Dios y Su justicia, y se les darán además todas estas cosas.

JUSTICIA JUSTICE(used in place of Righteousness)
pronounced
[whoos-tee-cee-ah]
ends in "a" so it's la justicia (the justice) or Su justicia...His Justice

Justice means conforming to the principle or ideal
...And justice for all..

YEARNING for YAHWEH and His YIELD in Me

Today is ABC's of the WORD hosted by Pam @ Grey Like Snuffie
Be sure to visit there for more ABC participants or join us
I'm counting on her moving along to "Y" for this week and it's clear WHO came to my mind from the B.I.B.L.E. But before I decided on this, I was choosing between "YIELD" and "YEARN".
Depending on what version of the Bible you have, these words were not producing verses that I was searching for...until I happened upon the New Living Translation(NLT), which I have never ever read or owned ...so I wonder "Y" I had verses floating around in my head of "Yielding" to my LORD and "Yearning" for YAHWEH with all of my heart, all my soul and all my mind. For HE is my strength...HE is my JOY...HE is YAHWEH!
In my YAHWEH graphic chosen above from Heartlight Graphics Gallery, done by Paul Lee, is my MEMORY VERSE for this week's chosen B.I.B.L.E. Weekly Memory Verse with
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33
NIV
But no "Y"s there.
What about ...?
"YIELD"
[for me this means to surrender my control to His]
In God's Word, it seems to have more to do with "being productive."
Merriam-Webster dictionary has many definitions here.
34 verses with YIELD in the NIV, and this is mine
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city.
On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month.
And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him.
REVELATION 22:1-3 (for context)
NIV

"YEARN"

[the meaning for me is "to long deeply"]

My soul yearns for You [O Lord] in the night, yes, my spirit within me seeks You earnestly; for [only] when Your judgments are in the earth will the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God).

   ISAIAH 26:9

Amplified

AND MY CHOSEN WORD YHWH

"YAHWEH"

2 And God said to Moses, “I am Yahweh‘the Lord.’ 3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty —but I did not reveal my name, Yahweh, to them.

Exodus 6:2-3

NLT

The most personal name that God gives himself in the Old Testament is Yahweh

Hebrew was originally written as consonants with no vowels and this name appears as the equivalent of YHWH. As vowels were inserted and it was passed down through other languages to English, it evolved into the word Jehovah

The word Yahweh, however, is an attempt to more closely represent the original Hebrew. As the Jewish tradition of never pronouncing this personal name of God developed, the word Adonai (“Lord”) began to be read in its place at public readings of the scriptures.

This tradition continues today in most English translations, where Yahweh is translated as “LORD” (with the first letter capitalized and the rest in small caps).

YAHWEH is the promised name of God. It means "LORD, MASTER" denoting the omnipotence (ALL POWERFULness) of God

Yahweh is the name that God emphasizes in his covenant with Moses and the Israelite people. God tells Moses, “I am the LORD [Yahweh]. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty [El-Shaddai], but by my name the LORD [Yahweh] I did not make myself known to them” (Exodus 6:3).

The name Yahweh may or may not have been known earlier than Moses, but here God points out that in his earlier covenant, the Patriarchs related to the one true God known by the title of God Almighty. This covenant with Moses and the Israelites involves a closer relationship with his people than before. Yahweh now begins to dwell among and accompany his people as they travel and as they later conquer and settle in the Promised Land.

Yahweh is the name God uses when He comes to dwell among His people.

I am longing for my LORD to dwell among His people in All His glory & peace.

SEEKER with PASSION

Join WORD FILLED WEDNESDAY hosted by Amydeanne @ The160 Acre Woods
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. ~ Matthew 6:33 ~ NIV
Pero busquen ante todo el reino de Dios y Su justicia, y se les darán además todas estas cosas. ~ Mateo 6:33 ~ NVI
The focus word in this verse is SEEK! It describes "a passionate pursuit of something to make it our own." The KINGDOM and the RIGHTEOUSNESS are not just our dream, our wish, or even our HOPE ~ they are much more...they are our PASSION. So those in this KINGDOM become our PASSION, that we will pursue and pursue His Kingdom at all costs. We will pursue His Kingdom with passion! I want to be a PASSIONATE SEEKER! Awaken me, Father...each morning with this passion for Your work and Your will for that day. Awaken & stir that passion inside of me to share the gospel with ONE more person for Your Kingdom. Forgive me for my complacency and lack of fire to pursue actively each opportunity given me. May this effort filled with passion consume me until it dwells in me and I make it my own...my home...my way of life. Help me live & be a SEEKER with PASSION! "May Your Kingdom come & Your Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven."
May the WORD of GOD be Your DAILY BREAD!
May you be filled by HIS WORD today!
ENJOY SEEKING HIS KINGDOM WITH PASSION!

TUESDAY TRIBUTE to GOD'S WORD TOGETHER

Quite a while ago, I shared about the Father's Love Letter!
Today I want to take you there again, line by line, then I HOPE week by week: each line of this letter on a regular basis, I will share the verse from the Bible and a link to a devotional from the site of the Father's Love Letter. Some days, I may share my personal response to their devotional and other days, I will just let HIS WORD dwell and speak to your heart. I happen to believe that this letter, available in 90 languages, is a perfect tool to give to others as an introduction to Our Father...ABBA...Papa...Our Heavenly Father
I should have started this at the beginning of the year and that way I would have one done one for each week  & be up to the right verse for this week. It so happens that 2-4 are from the same Psalm 139. So with that in mind, I will list the first ones and link to the corresponding devotional and focus on the one that would have been for this week.
[By clicking on the scripture or words underlined , you will be linked to the original site and the Father's Love Letter devotional for that scripture verse.]
You may not know me,
but I know everything about you.

I know when you sit down and when you rise up.
I am familiar with all your ways.

These first lines of the letter come from the Pslam 139. This would have gone well with last week being the "Sanctity of Life" week. For life is given its sanctity from its earthly beginning to end by how we respect life and thus OUR CREATOR and MAKER. He knows us all too well. He knows our thoughts even before we think them. He has great plans for us and purpose. He created each of us with a longing deep inside to know Him, long for Him, search for Him, and come to share in the LOVE He created us to find. God is not just the starting point of your life, He is the source of it. Rick Warren, in the "Purpose Driven Life" said it best...

"...You cannot arrive at your life's purpose by starting with a focus on yourself. "
"[IT's NOT ABOUT YOU]"
" You must begin with God, your Creator. You exist only because God wills that you exist..."
[YOU were made BY God and FOR God]
" It is only in God that we discover our origin, our identity, our meaning, our purpose, our significance and our destiny...It's about BECOMING what God created you to be!"
In the fourth line, or third verse of Psalm 139...it says "familiar". The devotional speaks of the Hebrew word for this word. Since I don't know Hebrew but I do know English and Spanish...I will also share a bit of a word study on "familiar" because it is this familiarity that each of us need to share with the Father...an intimate level that we must strive to attain...and of course, that is where we speak of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. For this very reason we are created. I'm not speaking about joining a church or being a member but that's not a bad idea. I'm talking about taking time to get to know someone...someone pretty important to our existance.
Our Heavenly Father...Our Creator.
The word "familiar" is the same in Spanish but in either English or Spanish, we can see the word FAMILY ... "familia" ... looking at Merriam Webster's dictionary it shows this from Latin. You can click and see the various definitions but the last one says "having personal & intimate knowledge" and the first one "closely acquainted". If you do not spend time with God, the Father how can you come to know Him this way? Yet this verse tells us, no matter what, that HE, God is familiar with us. Now remember that word has "family"... so God knows us intimately because you and I are part of His family, made in His image. Like the family that you were born into, you have the physical make-up or composition from their gene pool. So just as Our Heavenly Father knows us, He would like us to get to know Him and all His ways as He knows all our ways.
This intimacy level takes time to nurture and develop. After you read the devotional, you will see what they say. It's a starting point or a place that we need to return to if we have let it slide.
You cannot have a friendship, a marriage relationship...any relationship without investing TIME.
You cannot get to know the other without letting your walls down and being the real you.
You need to choose to spend time daily with Him, that's what we call PRAYER. You need to read the book and learn His character, that's what we call Bible Study or reading His Word. It's like reading His diary or Love Letter to you personally explaining all aspects that He has a part in.
Your life is an open book to Him, why not make HIS BOOK open to you? That's how you start or restart...by spending time alone with Him and then together with others to see from another view or perspective, because perhaps they see clearer or in a different light. We must RESPECT that difference! We must learn and grow together to increase our knowledge of Him.
...todos mis caminos te son familiares

Señor, Tú me examinas,

      Tú me conoces.

2 Sabes cuándo me siento y cuándo me levanto;

aun a la distancia me lees el pensamiento.

3 Mis trajines y descansos los conoces;

todos mis caminos te son familiares.

      Salmo 139:1-3

Heavenly Father,
Thank You that YOU are familiar with all my ways! My desire is to be familiar with YOU & all Your ways. I desire to get to know You more & more each & every day. I realize the best way to do this is to spend time with YOU. Time set aside for just YOU & I! How I treasure these moments! I am so thankful that YOU love me unconditionally. I can share everything with YOU. You are always there for me. There's no busy line...there's no call waiting or voice mail or answer machine for a message...I don't even need internet service or an email...Your line to me is direct and easily ready and available. YOUR WORD is Truth and I need to spend time learning those Truths to live those Truths. Lead me in the way I can deepen our relationship. Help me to lay down any ideas that are not of YOU! I want to be able to see Your heart, as You know mine...search me & know me and any way that is not of YOU...remove from me. I pray and ask in the precious Name of Your Son, Jesus...my Lord & Savior.
If you would like to pray more or have a prayer need or request, please be sure to visit our new blog LIGHTHOUSE of PRAYER. May His Light lead You into His Arms where You can know Him and the love I've found & trust in Him.
Our HOPE is in Christ Jesus!
