Ephesians 3: 20-21(NIV)
20 Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us,
21 to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
These two verses conclude Paul's prayer for the Ephesians. Paul's spirit is soaring in this prayer. Just as my recent WFW had the wonderful Word in Isaiah of eagles that soar & the video of the eagles, where you could truly sense the beauty of being able to soar on eagle's wings and that's how it is when you are in God's Presence & filled with His power & sense your spirit AT ONE with HIS.
You need to read the full prayer of Paul in Ephesians 3:14-21*(below) to truly appreciate his expression of praise & worship to God. How he is so full of God's glory & in awe of God's power. Paul is filled with great expectations and in these two verses shows how he glorifies God, our Father, who is able to do far more than we can imagine or think because of the magnitude of His awesome power. God is not limited and how many times, we as humans want to limit God or place Him in our little box of who God is and He is so much more...
If you read the full prayer*, for me, it is this: the depth of His love that is beyond all measures, making Him immeasureable, more than we can imagine or ask. This alone is enough to praise Him greatly!
By looking at verse 21...we see clearly Paul's praise in four phrases:
1) TO HIM BE GLORY
2) To Him be glory in the church
3) To Him be glory in Christ Jesus
4) To Him be glory throughout all generations forever & ever
Paul is singing because he sees two things, not just one thing. He sees that the power of God over the church goes beyond what we can think. And he also sees that the love of God for the church goes beyond what we can think. Notice in verses 18–19. He prays that the church "may have power to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge."
When God's love is joined with God's power in the heart of a believer, it must burst forth with a song of exaltation and a shout of "GLORY" from within this believer. Glory to God!
This is why Paul sings and until you can say with full confidence that you understand why Paul sings than you don't know the meaning of this verse nor the GLORY of our God! Indeed the sky is the limit as far as He is concerned. God knows no earthly barriers or boundaries that will keep Him from fulfilling the best plans and purposes for His children: you & me.
Here is how the FLL concludes this:
We can choose to live our lives in the confines of our own natural understanding and perceived limitations, or we can choose to believe what God has promised for us. That He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to His power that is at work within us!
Our Father is the biggest, strongest and most wonderful Dad in the universe and He has promised that He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we ask or imagine!
My prayer for YOU:
"For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom His whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name.
I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God."
Let us shout GLORY to GOD!
Let everything we do
SHOUT
of His Glory!
Let us not hold back or worship
in silence.
But lift our arms and give a shout.
Let your heart soar in admiration to the ONE
who deserves ALL our praise!

Sometimes there is nothing left for us to do except praise God! While we may sometimes dream of doing great things for God and his Kingdom, the dreams aren't as big as God's plans. While we may be richly talented, influential, powerful, or rich, these are merely tools in God's hands, not symbols of our sufficiency. "God is able" has to be one of the best and most accurate phrases in the Bible. But this time, it's said about his work in you in me. He is able to do much more than we imagine to work through and in us. What can we say to that? Hallelujah!
Loving Father, please help me better know and live Your will. I want to be Your vessel of ministry, healing, blessing, and hope to those around me. Please use me to Your glory today, and always. Almighty and Awesome God, do in our day what You did in past days. Give us faith to believe and then aMaze us at how shortsighted our faith really was. Give us vision to see Your plan and believe You long to do greater things. We ask this, not for ourselves or our reputation, but for Your glory and the salvation of our world.
We have far greater power than we often realize. That incredible power is at work within us (see Ephesians 1:18-19). This promise of power, however, is tied to two opportunities God gives us daily. First, it is based on actively asking for God to do great things based upon a holy charged imagination. Second, it is based on our living to bring God glory. So let's ask, imagine, and give God glory; then let's praise him for doing far greater things than what we ask or even imagine!
