"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." ~ from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

S.O.S. Change ...

Changing my S.O.S. for today
I failed to get out a post when this new movie of
released on
August 19th, 2016
{August 12th for some Christian audiences}

Ben Hur (2016)
"Fight the Good Fight, Finish the Race"

... and so
I am making it the main feature for this last weekend in
{even if it's being declared a "flop" by critics, not for me}
as we know most critics view from an earthly perspective of

[Trailer parts]

Of course, I won't know until I get a chance to see for myself the full movie, but at least,
from the scenes that I've seen, I'd like to see it
and I am a fan of the original 1959 (or 1925?) classic
{remember I was but a mere child then but a really theatrical one}
however, I still would never compare them or pit one against the  other
{it's not my style}

{Here and here are two Christian reviews to keep the score kinda even}
and this
Archbishop José H. Gomez of Los Angeles, CA

Once again through You Version, I was able to escape and enjoy tidbits of this "Ben Hur" movie, through a 7 day (probably promotional) reading plan but I saw it as an opportunity to view glimpses into "Ben Hur" and Jesus. {you do realize that's why most critics have problems with this and that they are looking for some breath-taking Biblical Spectacular!!! for the big bucks}

from You Version reading plan

Ben-Hur is a story set in the first century when Christ was on earth. But it isn’t a story about Jesus. It’s the story of a man whose life Jesus keeps interrupting. Like any historical fiction, Ben-Hur tells a story of fictionalized characters but in an accurate, historical setting. The scenes of Christ’s interactions with this story line are of course fictionalized, but as you’ll see, hold very true to the nature of the very real Jesus of Nazareth we read about in the gospels. This plan will explore five movie clips each with commentary from a different Christian leader. But today we’ll watch a music video from For King and Country that sets the stage for the movie’s themes of love, forgiveness, justice, and redemption."

with these two readings from Scripture

Matthew 10:34-42;  Isaiah 2:1-4
so technically, this could be considered an
because I'm sharing vivid
via the movie, right?
now this
by King and Country

{this is from "Movie Clips" but it's the same one that You Version shares on Day 1 and is listed as "unlisted" so be considerate and think twice before sharing}

You can even enter

"Share your story of rising up and overcoming adversity"

"a trip for two to Israel"
(see caption at the top)

You Version Day 2 "Radical Love", Day 3 "Love as Revolution" (Rick Warren "Jesus Protects the Leper"), Day 4 "Mercy Triumphs Over Justice" {Yeah!} , Day 5 "Go and Do the Same" {that scene that the Archbishop above chose as his favorite} and Day 6 "Forgiveness and Healing", Day 7 "Back to You" is another song by Mary and Mary - by now it's time to see the full movie, don't you think? {I will have to remove the links to the videos soon}

Oh and while I'm at it, viewing wonderful Christian Cinema ... there is one coming for just one day in the theaters (so I hear) this September 20th that I hope I'm in USA by then so I can see it (most likely I won't be but I can hope) ...  I have to share it today so maybe you can catch it (for me) and I don't forget "To Joey With Love" - a beautiful tribute and compilation of so much love for Joey (MartinFeek by her dear husband Rory (his blog)

Trailer To Joey With Love

Warning: This one will be a tear jerker, bring plenty of hankies

blessed and wonderful

S.O.S. ~ Longing for more "Grace"

... "If we knew the treasures that only came from walking through the valley, would we willingly choose the path that took us there?" ~Laura Story~

... "I ask you: "How many times will you pick me up,
When I keep on letting you down?
And each time I will fall short of Your glory,
How far will forgiveness abound?"
And You answer: "My child, I love you.
And as long as you're seeking My face,
You'll walk in the power of My daily sufficient grace.
" Chorus

This Scene is perfect for an S.O.S. and so is this Song. I just was not sure which song of Laura Story's would go best with this image {which reminds me so much of walking through the pines back home in MN, as if I had taken this photo}, but I do know that TREASURES and WALKING through VALLEYS will ALWAYS call for more of His aMazing Grace, so ... picking us up, when we fall so short of His glory, or letting each other down, or failing somehow in the MESSES we continue to make; does not necessarily mean that we would choose the path through the troubled times and the many valleys, yet without a doubt, we know that God's Grace will help us through and even help us discover some TREASURES while we're there but I think I'd prefer finding treasures on a beach or in the mountaintops ... however, I'll always be grateful for any treasure found in the valley ... in fact, I believe we even need to search harder and more closely in the valley for what treasures may be found as we continue to seek His face and more Grace

One of my favorite all time worship songs

with one of my favorite singers
Sandi Patty
from a 1988 album
"Make His Presence Praise Glorious"
{small correction in the video's beginning}
although I truthfully prefer "Presence", you'll see why

[image credit]

"I AM PERPETUALLY WITH YOU, taking care of you. That is the most important fact of your existence. I am not limited by time or space; My Presence with you is a forever-promise. You need not fear the future, for I am already there. When you make that quantum leap into eternity, you will find Me awaiting you in heaven. Your future is in My hands; I release it to you day by day, moment by moment. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow.

I want you to live this day abundantly, seeing all there is to see, doing all there is to do. Don’t be distracted by future concerns. Leave them to Me! Each day of life is a glorious gift, but so few people know how to live within the confines of today. Much of their energy for abundant living spills over the time line into tomorrow’s worries or past regrets. Their remaining energy is sufficient only for limping through the day, not for living it to the full. I am training you to keep your focus on My Presence in the present. This is how to receive abundant Life, which flows freely from My throne of grace." You Version Day 2 of 14; "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young

a true S.O.S. post

and of course, Sarah's JC devotional

S.O.S. ~ Reflecting as I Soak

Perfect photo of a Scene for "Reflecting ..." of the
Scripture found in Isaiah 54:10

[image credit: BibleinPhotos.com]
from my new YouVersion Bible reading plan:" 7 Hebrew Words Every Christian Should Know" - the word for this one: "Hesed = love"

When I posted a song earlier this week
from Audrey Assad
I ran across this
that it is perfect

"Even unto Death"
{it's the scenery that caught me as well as the sweet words and voice}
"...with every breath I will love You..."
{the lyrics are given in the video, but if you'd like to read them altogether,
click on this link of this line above}
frequently every breath whispers "Lord, I love You so much!"
followed by this plea

"Abide with Me"

I have other songs besides, but just stop for a moment
and listen to these as you

Soak On SONday

as we
remember those we love
and our God who loved us first

S.O.S. "... Enjoying PEACE in HIS PRESENCE"

Kind of a
"Weekend Whisper"
as we enjoy
Soaking On SONday

Psalm 118: 24; and Philippians 4:19, 6, 7.

and then

COME TO ME WITH A THANKFUL HEART, SO THAT YOU CAN ENJOY MY PRESENCE. This is the day that I have made. I want you to rejoice today,refusing to worry about tomorrow. Search for all that I have prepared for you, anticipating abundant blessings and accepting difficulties as they come. I can weave miracles into the most mundane day if you keep your focus on Me.

Come to Me with all your needs, knowing that My glorious riches  are a more-than-adequate supply. Stay in continual communication with Me, so that you can live above your circumstances even while you are in the midst of them.Present your requests to Me with thanksgiving, and My Peace, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your heart and mind."
From "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young.

S.O.S. ~ "...Interceding..."

... Romans 8:34 ...

A very special sister in Christ, Karen from "Hallelujah Anyhow", shared the words to this following song and the image from Hebrews 7:25 (HCSB) over where we read the Bible together and follow various reading plans with You Version. Although I'm not sure why she chose this verse nor what reading plan ... I do know that it holds her chosen One Word for 2016 - ALWAYS - I listened carefully after reading the words to this song, which struck a chord in my heart and it's a good reminder for us all.

"And He's Ever Interceding"

Sometimes we just need a good ole
Gospel Song
whisper to our hearts

comfort and hope

... Hebrews 7:25 (HCSB)...
"Therefore, He is always able to save those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them."

over and over
has been that
'someone that goes that extra mile'
tho' she's not old enough to be my mother
she's definitely a wonderful 'sister' and friend
as many of you have and are
we really are
'just like one great big family'
I don't know why these lyrics came to Karen
but I'm so glad that they did and I'm asking you
to lift Karen to the Father for whatever comes to you
{nothing in particular}
to bless her for the many times she blesses me!
Thank you!

We thank You
for our great BIG family
We thank You
that Jesus continues to intercede
for each of us
sticking with us through thick and thin.

Thank You
for defending us
whether we are weak or weary

Thank You
that You help us and often
carry our heavy burdens

So very thankful
love us and save us
when we come
boldly or weakly
to Your throne

You are for us!

Jesus is
"ever interceding"

Thank You
for the
this brings
in Jesus' name

I lift up my sisters and brothers in Christ
knowing You know their needs and
You already are answering them
and meeting them
right where they are

Be with each one
their precious loved ones
pouring out
Your everlasting
mercy, forgiveness
aMazing Grace

This is a perfect scene, song and scripture

Thank you Karen!

S.O.S. with a W.O.W.

And yet another WHISPER this week ... trading my usual
S.O.S. for another W.O.W.
this gorgeous weekend
gazing on this

[I am sure that by the time this publishes, I will have received more really stirring "whispers" in my emails from God's Spirit through Jennifer Camp, Brian Simmons and other sources, like my daily devotional book (which, by the way, had a couple already this week that stood out, but it's too difficult for me to share those - no copy & paste or share button in a real book) that seem to be so alive and in tune with God. I had to share these before Holy Week starts with the hope that God will speak to your heart through these words from ...]

"I Hear His Whisper"

"Our Lord does not start a faith journey in us just to abandon us in the middle." from
Brian Simmons and the TPT team

"After this 'whisper' be sure to read the verse twice" from Philippians 1:6 (TPT) and perhaps other versions as well to compare! "Such a powerful and hope-filled promise bears repeating until it is rooted deep in our hearts!" The Passion Translation (TPT) --- Amen! and amen!

"The Great Outpouring"

"Today you stand at the threshold of a new beginning. All that is around you will change and all that I have planted within you will now grow and bear fruit. For I have great things in store for you, things no one has ever proclaimed to you. Many speak of the rain that will soon fall, but I say, it will be a DOWNPOUR on you! Many speak of the fire, but they have never been consumed. But with you, My fire will rage and not be contained by the structures and theories of men.

There are many who wish for a new day, but you will be lifted suddenly into a season beyond your imagination or your dreams. For it will be MY dream that will be fulfilled in your life. Many scoffers will be swept into My presence and become believers in one day. Many doubters of My power will leave their limitations and pursue ME as never before. The time of the great OUTPOURING upon the nations is near. It will be a day of repentance and a day of gathering. Those who ignore My truth will be ignored. Those who refuse to gather themselves together will be scattered even further. For I will be worshiped in SPIRIT and in TRUTH.

So stand firm in Me until I have become your confidence. Set your eyes upon Me and don't be worried about your future and your calling, for I am the God begins and completes, the Alpha and the Omega. You have seen many times as the Beginning, now you will see me as the Finisher! "
Brian Simmons & TPT

"Philippians 1:6 The Passion Translation
"I pray with great faith for you, because I’m fully convinced that the One who began this glorious expression of grace in you will faithfully continue the process of maturing you through your union with Him and will complete it at the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ!"

I just love that this aligns with my You Version readings also
in this past week, being drawn to the book of Philippians.
God is like that when you search with all your heart,
you will hear Him Whisper ever so sweetly

Here is how You Version shared this as
the Verse of the Day 3/14/16
{so Angie created that verse image above}

"Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God. Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart. I am so pleased that you have continued on in this with us, believing and proclaiming God’s Message, from the day you heard it right up to the present. There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears." (MSG)

This is how I want to just burst forth and proclaim this

"Here’s what I pray for you (and me):
Father, may their love grow more and more in wisdom and insight—  so they will be able to examine and determine the best from everything else. And on the day of the Anointed One, the day of His judgment, let them stand pure and blameless,  filled with the fruit of righteousness that ripens through Jesus the Anointed.
All this I pray, with a view to God’s ultimate praise and glory."
taken directly from (The Voice) for the verses that follow v.6
{click on The Voice to read all of Philippians 1 from there -
it's really wonderful! Especially verse 6}
I just love reading from these new translation versions!

Hearing God's Voice

His Heart

My weekend S.O.S. (either "Soaking On ... Sat. or SONday) usually have a Scene, Scriptures and/or a Song ... and my W.O.W. now stand for "Whisper On Weds." instead of "Walk On Weds." but I guess for today, it's "Whisper On the Weekend" :) and trust me I do have a Song in mind but I really want us to focus on His Word being Whispered to our hearts.

"You Carry Me"
Shannon Wexelberg

When I visited my dear lil sister in Christ's video at You Tube
I found the above video again that I had wanted to share later
here, along side hers and it reminded me of it
but when I went back to get the link
it had changed to another really wonderful one by the
Gaither Vocal Band

"Sometimes it Takes a Mountain"

I decided that both were significant messages
for my precious sister in Christ
and me too

because another wonderful sister in Christ
made this image for her and I
from a reading plan
with YouVersion
"God's Promises
for the Hungry Heart"
Part 6
when we both chose the same verse
as our verse for that day

Psalm 119:65

and shortly after that she created another Bible image
of encouragement

Matthew 19:26

both  all with

So I've been thinking about "mountains" and crossing them, or how God makes "mountains" in our lives into "molehills" but also how He can carry us through the mountains that stand before us ... and the very ones we have crossed through many times, thinking as "Impossible" yet with God ... we can say "BUT GOD ..." and He removes our impossibilities making them into possibilities. Have you ever found yourself telling yourself how can I divert and save "going around that same ol' mountain" again? Many times in my life, God carries me through the difficulties or trials with His Strength and power. This is the promise I cling to for these images whispered from God's heart to mine(and hers):

"When you love My Word your mountains will be as molehills."

Psalm 119:165

May Yahweh Lord God All Powerful
 carry you through your
your weekend

with love & peace in Him,
~ Peggy

The day after I wrote this
I came upon
{God directed}
"Moving Mountains"
with John Eldredge
{I'm sure the rest is available via Study Gateway}

[I really enjoyed my 30 day free trial of this and find it invaluable for me to have studies in English for me LIVE. I think that's why I look for Churches Online to listen or watch too.]

{yep, it's time for me to go home when I long for this, but not yet}

A few days later
that same dear sister
added some more wonderful images
Amos 4:13

[image credit]

*These are just a few of the beautiful ones she created so
All these Images are Credited to Karen from YV

This last one
{my second favorite}
goes with one of the
One Words
will CHANGE my life
in 2016

"I faced a mountain,
That I never faced before
That's why I'm calling on the Lord
I know it's been awhile,
But Lord please hear my prayer
I need You like I never have before

Sometimes it takes a mountain
Sometimes a troubled sea
Sometimes it takes a desert
To get a hold of me
Your Love is so much stronger
Then whatever troubles me
Sometimes it takes a mountain
To trust You and believe ..."

"Forgive me, Jesus
I thought I could control
Whatever life would throw my way
But this I will admit
Has brought me to my knees
I need You Lord and I'm not ashamed to say"
{lyrics to the song by GVB}

Important to understand my message and significance to me

Placing my
"hinds' feet on high places"
for now
Soaking On SONday
not in the mountains nor the valleys
though my emotions may be
I'm right where
God has me

40 Days "Recovering GRACE"~ DAY 5

40 Day Journey
"Recovering Grace"
with another book by
Pauline Creeden

"Found Adrift: 40 Days of Recovering Grace"

Day 5
Bible Reading
Matthew 7:7-8

Prayer Thought

"Do you need help seeing where you are needed? Ask God to make you sensitive to the needs of others. Stay in the scriptures, and listen for God to speak. God has called you friend - ask Him for help in becoming exactly what you have been called to be."Pauline Creeden

Since this is

here's a little worship of

I so appreciate how Pauline writes about
we should
asking great questions

Jesus tells us in the NKJV to be persistant
with the word
asking,  seeking and knocking

does God want us to be beggars
grovel, nag, repeat
pray over and over
for the same old thing
treat Him like a vending machine

"... that we need to put the "right" amount of prayer into and
out comes the change we need ..."
exactly what "we" want but not necessarily what God wants for us

"If it's something we desperately need,
won't we pray more earnestly?
Do we really want to stop our drift?"

She made so many good, relevant points
how to pray
asking more in tune
with God's will

"It's about balance and relationship. It's about keeping ourselves
in the right place (and right attitudes and heart) to do great things and be
what we were meant to be. It's about being in harmony and yes,
friendship with our Savior."Pauline Creeden

Look through (seek/search) the scriptures for God to speak
and God's promises
concerning our needs and desires
knock as we would on someone's door
to fellowship and enter in

[the image we have of Him since we were little]

When HE knocks
we should let Him in

what He would like

offer our whole heart and serve Him
with our whole heart and all of us

hear Him speak

Jesus: Why is it that you see the dust in your brother’s or sister’s eye, but you can’t see what is in your own eye? Don’t ignore the wooden plank in your eye, while you criticize the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eyelashes.That type of criticism and judgment is a sham! Remove the plank from your own eye, and then perhaps you will be able to see clearly how to help your brother flush out his sawdust.
Don’t give precious things to dogs. Don’t cast your pearls before swine. If you do, the pigs will trample the pearls with their little pigs’ feet, and then they will turn back and attack you.
Now Jesus returns to prayer, an important and sometimes difficult topic. Here He gives the very essence of prayer.
Just ask and it will be given to you; seek after it and you will find. Continue to knock and the door will be opened for you. All who ask receive. Those who seek, find what they seek. And he who knocks, will have the door opened.
Think of it this way: if your son asked you for bread, would you give him a stone? Of course not—you would give him a loaf of bread. 10 If your son asked for a fish, would you give him a snake? No, to be sure, you would give him a fish—the best fish you could find. 11 So if you, who are sinful, know how to give your children good gifts, how much more so does your Father in heaven, who is perfect, know how to give great gifts to His children!
12 This is what our Scriptures come to teach: in everything, in every circumstance, do to others as you would have them do to you.
13 There are two paths before you; you may take only one path. One doorway is narrow. And one door is wide. Go through the narrow door. For the wide door leads to a wide path, and the wide path is broad; the wide, broad path is easy, and the wide, broad, easy path has many, many people on it; but the wide, broad, easy, crowded path leads to death. 14 Now then that narrow door leads to a narrow road that in turn leads to life. It is hard to find that road. Not many people manage it.
15 Along the way, watch out for false prophets. They will come to you in sheep’s clothing, but underneath that quaint and innocent wool, they are hungry wolves. 16 But you will recognize them by their fruits. You don’t find sweet, delicious grapes growing on thorny bushes, do you? You don’t find delectable figs growing in the midst of prickly thistles. 17 People and their lives are like trees. Good trees bear beautiful, tasty fruit, but bad trees bear ugly, bitter fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear ugly, bitter fruit; nor can a bad tree bear fruit that is beautiful and tasty. 19 And what happens to the rotten trees? They are cut down. They are used for firewood. 20 When a prophet comes to you and preaches this or that, look for his fruits: sweet or sour? rotten or ripe?
21 Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven. Simply calling Me “Lord” will not be enough. Only those who do the will of My Father who is in heaven will join Me in heaven. 22 At the end of time, on that day of judgment, many will say to Me, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name? Did we not drive demons out of the possessed in Your name? Did we not perform miracles in Your name?” 23 But I will say to them, “I never knew you. And now, you must get away from Me, you evildoers!”
24 Those people who are listening to Me, those people who hear what I say and live according to My teachings—you are like a wise man who built his house on a rock, on a firm foundation25 When storms hit, rain pounded down and waters rose, levies broke and winds beat all the walls of that house. But the house did not fall because it was built upon rock. 26 Those of you who are listening and do not hear—you are like a fool who builds a house on sand. 27 When a storm comes to his house, what will happen? The rain will fall, the waters will rise, the wind will blow, and his house will collapse with a great crash.
28 With that Jesus finished His teaching, and the crowds were amazed by all He had said. 29 But Jesus taught in His own name, on His own authority, not like the scribes.
