"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." ~ from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

Psalm 122
1 I rejoiced with those who said to me, "Let us go to the house of the LORD."

2 Our feet are standing in your gates, O Jerusalem.

3 Jerusalem is built like a city that is closely compacted together.

4 That is where the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, to praise the name of the LORD according to the statute given to Israel.

5 There the thrones for judgment stand, the thrones of the house of David.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you be secure.

7 May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels."

8 For the sake of my brothers and friends, I will say, "Peace be within you."

9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your prosperity.

May the peace of the LORD be with you and yours!

Pray for peace in our homes!

Pray for peace for Israel!

Pray for peace for Jerusalem!

Pray for peace in Haiti and Chile!

Pray for Jesus' PEACE in the whole world!

Let PEACE begin with me!

An Internet Prayer For Peace O God, you are the source of life and peace. Praised be your name forever. We know it is you who turn our minds to thoughts of peace. Hear our prayer in this time of crisis. Your power changes hearts. Muslims, Christians and Jews remember, and profoundly affirm, that they are followers of the one God, Children of Abraham, brothers and sisters; enemies begin to speak to one another; those who were estranged join hands in friendship; nations seek the way of peace together. Strengthen our resolve to give witness to these truths by the way we live. Give to us: Understanding that puts an end to strife; Mercy that quenches hatred, and Forgiveness that overcomes vengeance. Empower all people to live in your law of love Amen. --- Source: Pax Christi

Lyrics written by Ronnie Freeman
Have you ever heard a love song that sets your spirit free?
Have you ever watched a sunrise and felt you could not breathe?
What if it's Him, What if it's God speaking!
Have you ever cried a tear that you could not explain?
Have you ever met a stranger that already knew your name?
What if it's Him, What if it's God speaking! Who knows how He'll get a hold of us, get our attention to prove He is enough. He'll do and He'll use whatever He wants to... To tell us I love you! Have you ever lost a loved one who you thought should still be here? Do you know what it feels like to be tangled up in fear? What if He's somehow involved, what if He's speaking through it all His ways are higher, His ways are better, though sometimes strange. What could be stranger than God in a manger! God is speaking I love you!
"What if...it's God speaking?"
Couldn't you just feel a spirit rise within you wanting to dance with Him?
From the first first notes of this song, I have this soaring and swaying spirit that wants
to be free and dance! But when I read the words, there is such LOVE and meaning.
I am convinced that GOD SPEAKS to me through music: songs, dance, instruments, signing...
GOD uses the ART and His ARTISTS
to communicate His heart
in my humble opinion
Thank you, Mandisa (and Ronnie)!

This song is actually a response to my Then Sings My Soul Song for this Saturday but I did not have anything for Friday and already had something scheduled for Sunday and Monday so where could I place this except right here... *
In the quiet of my soul In the stillness I hear Your voice call And I am overwhelmed And I am lost for words To describe You Jesus You're more than a friend Jesus You're more than my heart Could ever express Your love and Your grace never fail me Your merciful touch always heals me You bring joy to my soul My heart longs to worship You my King And I long to bring You a pleasing offering And I am overwhelmed And I am lost for words To describe You Jesus You're more than a friend Jesus You're more than my heart Could ever express Your love and Your grace never fail me Your merciful touch always heals me You bring joy to my soul Jesus You're more than a friend Jesus You're more than my heart Could ever express Your love and Your grace never fail me Your merciful touch always heals me You bring joy to my soul Oh Jesus You bring joy to my soul, Jesus Your love and your grace Your merciful touch brings joy to my soul, joy to my soul Oh Jesus, joy to my soul Jesus You're more than a friend Jesus You're more than my heart Could ever express Your love and Your grace never fail me Your merciful touch always heals me You bring joy to my soul
Jeremy Riddle
Please come back and hear my song for Saturday that should have preceded this.
No matter what order they go well together and reflect my heart at this time.
Reflecting on the Jenifer's study AT THE WELL, of "God, Who are You...?" with the full week of study she makes available each week as a download, and anticipating the upcoming one of Jill's FOREVER n EVER n ALWAYS, with the book by Ann Spangler "Praying the Names of God"; I can't help but think of how much more Jesus is than a friend, yet how thankful I am to have Him as my constant, steadfast, faithful friend. Counting on Him being there for me as HE IS... IMMANUEL/EMMANUEL... God with us (this week's focus of Session 3 with Jenifer)
I find myself seeking His healing touch through music, so as I find songs, I love to share them and have them right here for me to hear, listen, soak and heal. I pray that if you are in need of a friend, you will seek to call on Jesus, as a friend.
66 Love Letters book
When visiting Lori @ All You Have to Give for her WFW, I read about an excellent
new book, with daily e-mail short reflections for Lent, called "66 Love Letters:
A Conversation with God that invites you into His Story" and today I received my 1st email for the book of Ruth. I gave in and purchased the book to read it all. I just downloaded it in Kindle for PC... boy is that great, it's instantly here for me to read, no worries of mail trouble or never getting it! (they even have some free books).
Perhaps this is why this song spoke to me for now.

(the "V" is a continual Victory prayer for Shortybear & Lovebug...yeahh!)
goes with my WFW and True Identity post
proclaiming that
(my Identity in Christ featured verse)
through Jesus Christ!
Let's focus on counting our VICTORIES not our defeats! ~
So this is the VICTORY song this week!
[stop Livestream music in the right sidebar on top; button's on the left bottom corner of player]
Thanks be to God
Who always causes us to triumph in His name
Thanks be to God
Who always causes us to win, yeah
Thanks be to God
Who always causes us to triumph in His name
Thanks be to God
Thanks be to God
We have overcome
Hallelujah, hallelujah
We have overcome
By the power of your name
Jesus you’re the one
Hallelujah, hallelujah
The one who made a way
For us to triumph in His name
Oh, oh, Oh, oh
We got the victory
Everything will be alright, alright
We got the victory
Everything will be alright
‘Cause we’re on the wining side
Lord, Thank You that You won our victory. Thank You that we are on the winning side because of You! Thank You that we can triumph over our difficulties and trials in Your Name! We have overcome by the power of Your Name. Not by might, nor by power, but by Your Spirit, we have the victory.
We are overcomers and will no longer be defeated or captives to the enemy.
You have broken the curse over our lives, redeeming us and setting us free.
We are more than conquerors by Christ Jesus. When I am weak, You are strong. Thank You for causing us to win. May we always look to You for our way of escape. Open our eyes and our ears. Help us to walk in freedom and victory each day. May we always be grateful to You for each victory and the lesson in the growing moments. We give You all the honor, glory and praise.

The purpose of Word filled Wednesday is to share God's word (no famous quotes or other literature — only the beautiful word of our Father) through photos & a Bible verse!
[*sorry about the extra words on this one but you'll see why]
This is not my own WFW but one used as a Blog title (even as an award below) of a dear friend
It is because of Nancie that I learned how I could participate in WFW through her instructions, step by step with a program I already had: Microsoft Power Point. Imagine that! She patiently and beautifully wrote me and walked me through each step until I began in WFW. I'm still learning and trying new things available in this program but Nancie started me out! Thanks Nancie!
I cannot turn to this verse for my Identity in Christ, without thinking and praying for this sweet sister in Singapore. If you do not yet know her, you should & go visit, encourage and pray for Nancie.
If you do know Nancie, then I ask the same of you but mostly that you pray for Nancie... if you have read any of her blog posts recently, you will know why.
I love Nancie and her heart! She is a beautiful, worthy person, managing a chronic illness: bipolar disorder, struggling but learning to manage & be MORE THAN A CONQUEROR and her giving heart is more than grateful. Nancie shines Jesus! Show her some sister love!
Please lift Nancie up to be VICTORIOUS in her current battle, for Godly strength and wisdom, for the Holy Spirit's power and healing to this sweet, victorious sister in Christ, for continuing to be MORE THAN A CONQUEROR and keep fighting the good fight.
She shared this back in January for the New Year 2010, right around the time I posted being a tag free and award free blog, determined to give God the glory & this blog, not focusing on my works but His work in me.
In case you did not notice, this is my WFW verse and Identity in Christ verse for this week... so I decided to AWARD ALL of you this VICTORY in Jesus Christ
If you'd like to grab this and share being a Conqueror
Just put a link back to Nancie's post to show where this Award originated:
[if you go there, she gives specific instructions on how to copy to your blog & you can bless her]
Now this WFW below is mine.
verses 35-37 reads in NLT:
Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”
37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
I HAVE THE VICTORY through Christ Jesus.
(my post for Identity in Christ)
You can have this VICTORY!
(you can tell the enemy that he's done trampling over you & stealing your victory because you know that it's been won & you're done being defeated 'cause "YOU GOT THE VICTORY and everything will be~alright!" You're on the winning side! Sing it, sister ~ I'm sharing this song HERE to go with this if you need a song of VICTORY)

and our hostess this week:

Each week I share scripture verse(s) that affirm or reaffirm WHO I AM in CHRIST in a feature I call TRUE IDENTITY in CHRIST.

This is the 2nd time through the categories:

(each of these is linked to the 1st one of that category with all the verses) [FICM credit]

Let's look at what the Bible says about our IDENTITY in CHRIST. Freedom in Christ Ministries (FICM), breaks the above categories into three parts (see the linked image of theirs in the corner or in each post on this topic): I AM ACCEPTED, I AM SIGNIFICANT, I AM SECURE, which comes from Neil T. Anderson books on being free in Christ. [I shared this in my intro].
*I have changed the order this week and moved VICTORIOUS up to this week and my WFW will make this more clear. Next week I will continue with Forgiven, then Loved, etc.

Today's FOCUS:

Today's VERSE:(be sure to put your name in place of mine)
Rom. 8:37
Peggy is more than a conqueror in Christ.
No, in all these things, Peggy is more than a conqueror through Him who loved her.

Today's Verse from (1999)
Phil WareNot my words but Phil's:

"Are we really conquerors despite the "trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword" that Paul mentioned two verses earlier? Yes! That is the ultimate Christian assurance. Nothing can separate us from God's love in Christ. The Evil One and his allies can ruin our finances, seek to destroy our relationships, wrack our bodies with pain, and even kill our bodies. However, the Evil One cannot have our hearts when they are surrendered to Jesus. And when our hearts and lives belong to Jesus, so does God's promised future! The empty tomb of Jesus assures us that our future with him is glorious, victorious, and unending."

Give me eyes to see, O God, and a heart to believe that Jesus' victory over death is my victory, too! I don't want to be derailed from my hope, faith, and love by the difficulties of life. Instead, I want to be a living testimony to Your power, victory, and grace. In Jesus' name, and for his glory, I live and pray. Amen.

And now the great words of Charles Spurgeon (Morning Devotion) on Rom.5:37:
(if you remember I wrote that CS is sometimes far too complex for me so I broke this down into bite size portions for me to read better)
"We go to Christ for forgiveness, and then too often look to the law for power to fight our sins.
Paul thus rebukes us, "O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth?
This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?"

Take your sins to Christ's cross, for the old man can only be crucified there: we are crucified with him. The only weapon to fight sin with is the spear which pierced the side of Jesus.

To give an illustration-you want to overcome an angry temper, how do you go to work? It is very possible you have never tried the right way of going to Jesus with it.
How did I get salvation? I came to Jesus just as I was, and I trusted him to save me.
I must kill my angry temper in the same way? It is the only way in which I can ever kill it. I must go to the cross with it, and say to Jesus, "Lord, I trust thee to deliver me from it." This is the only way to give it a death-blow.
Are you covetous?(whatever the sin) Do you feel the world entangle you? You may struggle against this evil so long as you please, but if it be your besetting sin, you will never be delivered from it in any way but by the blood of Jesus.
Take it to Christ. Tell him, "Lord, I have trusted thee, and thy name is Jesus, for thou dost save thy people from their sins; Lord, this is one of my sins; save me from it!"
Ordinances are nothing without Christ as a means of mortification. (profound)
"Your prayers, and your repentance, and your tears - the whole of them put together - are worth nothing apart from Him.

"None but Jesus can do helpless sinners good;" or helpless saints either.
You must be conquerors through him who hath loved you, if conquerors at all.
Our laurels must grow among his olives in Gethsemane. ~ Charles Spurgeon

To read more about The OLIVE in the Bible. Visit Bible History.

I also read an extensive dissertation of the destruction of the olive orchards in Israel because of the fighting and the need to save the olive fields HERE.

"History and Importance of Olives and Olive Wood" Published August 07, 2009 by:Kristen Wilkerson also worth the read and a bit more understandable.

*Due to the switch in the order, I needed to compile other's writings, but frankly they are much more worthwhile than my ramblings.

The WORD that stands out in today's verse showing me that I AM VICTORIOUS is CONQUEROR.

And my questions to myself are:
Am I battling the trials in my life as a CONQUEROR and VICTORIOUS through Jesus? Am I a CONQUEROR? Do others see me as a CONQUEROR? What is my witness of being victorious? Am I sharing my victories as a way to share Jesus?

or do I allow the enemy territory in my mind, through my thoughts, in my heart, in my daily life, defeating me, making me weary, reminding me of things of the past or lies?

Have I picked up my SWORD of truth, important part of my daily armor, to battle and know the strategy of the enemy to attack me in my weakest area, using the SWORD to ready me for the daily battles, trials, or temptations?

at your side or in your hand

Let's use ALL of these daily to have VICTORY
(don't let the enemy steal anymore)
