"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." ~ from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

TRANSFORMING MY LIFE (part III)

I'm not sure why God does this but I have to trust Him when He does. As I was midway (again){sigh} preparing these, thinking I had exhausted all the various avenues of sites and books, that this time I landed on something unique for these 30 Days ... although there are many similar, don't get me wrong, just not any done, verse by verse, as is my intention ... lo and behold, God drops another book in my lap(top) ... from the founder and wonderful woman, I shared earlier this year, because of her HOPE organization ... written by June Hunt, as a "31 Day Devotional" (you guessed it) on these verses {grrr} or {yeah} but making my efforts now obsolete and meaningless, because I so dislike "reinventing the wheel" ... once it's been done and my, she has done this so very well with such a good purpose and plan ... that I just have to share it before I reveal mine (once again, I'm a little late because she published this in 2012)(This is not a book review but I can't help seeing the great value in her book!)

Seeing Yourself Through God's Eyes: A 31-Day Devotional

[the first is the one I have in my Kindle for PC but I think I like the 2nd one]

June Hunt has also included a Study Guide in her book! You know how I love that! Although the verses are not the same as FICM or the Bell, the same concepts of WHO we are in Christ are! Makes me almost ready to trash mine in draft and go with hers instead ... almost.

And she has broken down her 31 days into 4 sections: (I have just the 3: Accepted, Secure, Significant and you can see what the initial letters of these words add up to what I feel like in my latent effort and the reason I need to improve my identity and self image) her sections are:

"Days 1-7: My Position in Christ"
"Days 8-15: God's Plan for me"
"Days 16-23: My Possessions in Christ"
"Days 24-31: God's Purpose for me"

Yeah, P, P, P, P for Peggy instead of mine!

{yep, clear cut and all inclusive for my chosen verses}

Thus, this is the reason for me writing a

Part III
to my intro
{and pushing back the 1st two parts}
because I love how she has done this

So, I reiterate: not sure why God does this: to confirm? or to show me up with someone elses' great accomplishment? putting a foggy tint on my seemingly, well worked out "30 days" that I had in my head since last fall ... waiting, now mulling over as I pick up the reading of a really good devotional (already done so well!!! really well) ... {sigh}. Kinda like all my thoughts spilled out and put together much better than I could have done. Does this mean I'm suppose to just dump mine and do hers? I don't think so ... yet I'm hoping that I can combine and use both to benefit us in my 30 day plan

***
IDENTITY

June has a SUPERB intro with "her personal word"; "What is Identity" and "Discovering How God Sees You" ... which ends with the following, excellent six steps for processing "seeing yourself through God's eyes" that I'd like to borrow and hope you will use as she wrote "by the Spirit of God to bring to light that which may be currently hidden from view":

"1. Begin each day asking God to reveal how He sees you … simply because you are His child.

2.  Concentrate on the initial statement concerning you and on the corresponding scripture.

3.  Read the practical commentary and pray that the Lord’s heavenly view of you would penetrate your heart. {this one you won't be able to do in my 30 days, unless you have her book too}

4.  Look up the additional Scripture passages in your Bible, then personalize and paraphrase them, putting them into your own words.

5.  Write a personal prayer and complete the phrase,
“Father, through Your eyes I can see that I _________.”

6.  Repeat to yourself the truth printed at the bottom of the page. With a grateful heart, acknowledge that you have infinite worth in the eyes of your heavenly Father."

Oh yes, PERFECT!
{and she even gives us an example in how to do this with Day 32}
Such a BONUS!

Thanks God and thanks June Hunt!

also wanted to share what she has in "What is Identity":

"Your Identity determines Your Worth"
"Your Identity  determines Your Destination"

"Your Identity determines Your Characteristics"

"Your Identity determines Your Inheritance"
~June Hunt, "Seeing Yourself Through God's Eyes"~

"A consequence of this new identity is a new worth based on the abundant resources placed into your personal account. A second consequence is a new destination throughout eternity, where you will forever be secure in the presence of God."

And I loved these sweet words from June Hunt and my heart:

" Precious one, how God desires that you will receive all that He provides! The struggle with low-self-worth can be replaced with godly self-worth when you are in Christ. But in order for you to have the characteristics of Christ, you must be in a different family."~June Hunt

Welcome to the Family of God as
You
walk with me
for the next 30 days
in God's Word
so we can see and accept
WHO and HOW
God sees us
as
HIS

This definitely was a God-incidence
for me to find this wonderful book and June's Ministry
"HOPE for your Heart"

which it is giving me and I pray you also

HEALING Under Grace

HOPE Unto Grace

and maybe another study for
SOS

After I began organizing the next 30 days, I really wanted to do more than I have done. So the posts are pretty basic so far ... and I hope to use this as a basic skeleton format to come back to as I am able and build and write more about each verse and share my prayer and hopefully more life practical applications or insights from my journey ... because I have held on to these FICM Bible Verses for decades now and it's high time that I see myself through God's eyes really and just not read the verse but make it an integral part of my identity and me, knowing and confirming my Position in Christ, God's Purpose and Plan for me, and all that I Possess as His Possession: HIS ... remember this from the RESOLUTION book study ... BELONGING! which for me means being secure, being accepted and becoming significant in my own eyes, God's eyes and the eyes of others as they watch me live out my Christian journey intentionally ... through this life as I am transforming my life day by day ... hopefully more into the image of Jesus Christ!

June Hunt's book "Seeing Yourself through God's Eyes" calls me and inspires me to do more with these drafted posts ... that I am posting as they are; to be improved as I am able to get to each one (in God's time)! How I wish they were more like June's and I had found her book before I tried to re-invent the wheel (as she had done so wonderfully).

That's my intention for these next 30 days and as I come back (whenever, now or in the future, to add to these) To God be the glory! This is the 3rd Introduction post to my series ... I kept revising and wanting to add more to let you know where I'm going with this transformation and identity in Jesus Christ! I do hope you will join me as you can ... I will be revising so it's best to catch these in the evening even though if they post earlier.

WEEKLY ONE WORD ~ "The Cross"

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a Living Hope
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead ..."
1 Peter 1:3

"The Cross" by Thomas Kinkade [Limited Edition]

{This painting is not included on the 2014 Calendar "Gardens of Grace" that I shared, yet I believe that it is where grace and hope begin and end.} At least, for me ... Jesus Christ, the Cross and Resurrection, gives me HOPE to believe in His aMazing Grace and love, be forever so grateful and in awe of Our God. Jesus' walk in a similar "garden" ... a Garden of Promise ... is/was a Garden of Grace! Since Jesus persevered from His garden walk and talk with the Father, all the way to the Cross ... He stands ready and able to walk us through our "cross" and journey as He talks with us along the way, giving us unconditional love, encouragement, and a strength to endure and continue on with HOPE in all He promises and did in His journey so our journey can be faced with Him!

Here is the description by Thomas Kinkade (himself for this painting of his). You will see why this is such a symbol of HOPE

" As part of the redesign of the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, North Carolina, I was asked to provide an image for use on a large wall. A very large wall - truly a moment of destiny for any artist.

To create the oil painting that would be the basis for the final mural, I utilized one of the largest canvases I have ever attempted in my studio. A full 6 feet wide, this canvas would be enlarged to create the final epic sized mural. As I worked it was as if heavenly light began to pour upon the canvas.

A final aspect of the creative process came when Franklin Graham himself suggested a fitting title for the work: The Cross. This simple title reflects the lifelong calling and legacy of his father, the evangelist Billy Graham.

My prayer is that this painting will bring hope to many just as Billy Graham has brought hope to millions through the gospel message.
-Thomas Kinkade  "

This just happens to be perfect fit for this week as Anne Graham Lotz has set aside Sept. 1, 2014 as 9-1-1 to pray and fast for Jerusalem. {I shared about this back on Aug. 22 .... so if you would like more details, please go there}

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." (Hebrews 12:1-3)

This happens to go well with my upcoming monthly series through September as well and I have already started to lay the groundwork by means of 2 parts of Introduction (already posted) and the 3rd is coming. Check them out to know more or just plan to come back Sept. 1-30th for my 30 day journey of transformation with my identity in Jesus Christ.

TRANSFORMING MY LIFE (part II.) Introduction to 30 days

For the next 30 days

because OCTOBER is coming
and
it's a significant one for me this year
 so

I had to bump up my 31 day challenge to September
instead of October

 SO THAT

I
KNOW
WHO I AM
I am God's child (John 1:12)
I am Christ's friend (John 15:15)
I am united with the Lord(1 Cor. 6:17)
I am bought with a price(1 Cor. 6:19-20)
I am a saint (set apart for God). (Eph. 1:1)
I am a personal witness of Christ. (Acts 1:8)
I am the salt & light of the earth (Matt.5:13-14)
I am a member of the body of Christ(1 Cor 12:27)
I am free forever from condemnation (Rom. 8: 1-2)
I am a citizen of Heaven. I am significant (Phil.3:20)
I am free from any charge against me (Rom. 8:31-34)
I am a minister of reconciliation for God(2 Cor.5:17-21)
I have access to God through the Holy Spirit (Eph. 2:18)
I am seated with Christ in the heavenly realms (Eph. 2:6)
I cannot be separated from the love of God(Rom.8:35-39)
I am established, anointed, sealed by God (2 Cor.1:21-22)
I am assured all things work together for good (Rom. 8: 28)
I have been chosen and appointed to bear fruit (John 15:16 )
I may approach God with freedom and confidence (Eph. 3: 12 )
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Phil. 4:13)
I am the branch of the true vine, a channel of His life (John 15: 1-5)
I am God's temple (1 Cor. 3: 16 ) I am complete in Christ (Col. 2: 10)
I am hidden with Christ in God (Col. 3:3) I have been justified (Romans 5:1)
I am God's co-worker(1 Cor. 3:9; 2 Cor 6:1) I am God's workmanship (Eph. 2:10 )
I am confident that the good works God has begun in me will be perfected (Phil 1: 5)
I have been redeemed & forgiven (Col. 1:14) I have been adopted as God's child (Eph 1:5)
I am rooted and established in Christ (Eph 3:17)
I belong to God.
Do you know
who you are!?
[This just doesn't look right the way it should as copied from below on my blog where I guess there is more space and it actually looks like a bell. Trust me I tried various ways of adjusting verses and print. But it's not the 'bell' that is important, it's these verses]

and so
YOU KNOW

and
GOD GETS ALL THE GLORY
Hallelujah

***

All of the above verses are the framework
for my next 30 Days of this year
[since I moved it up to Sept. it's only 30 unless you count this as one and I needed 3 as intro]

***
Perhaps you are like me and have sung many times
"I KNOW WHO I AM"
but even if "you know" in your head
for some of us
it has not made it to our heart
to be a heart transformation
changing how we live
and for some unknown reason
we struggle
BELIEVING and LIVING
what we know
as
TRUTH
(God's Word)
[and God does not lie, He can't lie]

so
it's our thinkin' that's stinkin'

That's why I'm going through these verses
as declarations once again of
WHO I AM

I have not forgotten nor has God
these are fundamental
TRUTHS
that I have shared on this blog many ways
as many others have, do and will

It's not so much
who I am
anymore
as much as
WHO HE IS
and
whether I live
as He has revealed to me
what I profess to believe
if God said it, wrote it, inspired others
to share it, live it, receive it than
who am I
not to do the same

Believing is not just saying you do, but showing that you do, in what you do, and how you live! Being transformed by what you confess or declare you believe calls you to take it one step further than your head knowledge to your heart because once it grows in your heart, you cannot help but want to change and reflect this and Jesus more to the others around you that may not know Him or what He's done for you. It's said that "you may be the only Bible, some people may read". You see, if you do not reflect the Light of Jesus, why should they want to change or go to church or be a part of being a Christian. We are not "human doings" but "human beings", although we must do what we are and be who we say we profess "to be", our "being" is exemplified in our "doing" or better said our "doing"demonstrates what we believe or who we are. But don't get me wrong, I am not saying that we are saved by our works, our "doing", because it is nothing of us! yet it most definitely is who we are!

Perhaps this is confusing to you, but hopefully by the end of this 31 30 day journey through these  Truths of Who God says We Are, you will better understand what I mean and who you are in Jesus Christ.

Identity crisis ... no longer! Identity in Christ resolves your crisis and you are found, no longer in crisis or running from a crisis ... your identity SHAPEs you by the power of the Holy Spirit alive and living in you, transforming you into the image of Jesus Christ and how God sees you and me!

I have chosen 30 key verses
(from the 'Bell' above and the FICM image below)
and
created an A-Z list of some
of
What God's Word says

 I am

ACCEPTED
ABLE
ADOPTED, CHILD of GOD
ADEQUATE
ASSURED
BELONG and BOUGHT
BOLD and CONFIDENT

{I have shared the ones in BOLD before and they are the sum total of many of the verses noted}

Read this list often and repeat it then add reading the Scriptures also that go with each one SO you believe who God says you are

***

continuation of
 Part I.
and there's a
Part III.

Using the above A-Z list would make this 40 days so I'll be doing this
just by the verses that confirm each of those A-Z words.

As I will be
TRANSFORMING MY LIFE
through
ACCEPTANCE
SECURITY
SIGNIFICANCE
in
Jesus Christ
who
tells me that
"I am Accepted"
"I am Secure"
and
"I am Significant"
in His Word
the Bible

TRANSFORMING MY LIFE (part I.) Introduction to 30 Days

[po006_full_who_i_am_in_christ_artistic_print.jpg]

Have you struggled with who you are?

or

Have you struggled with living out
who you are?

Do you see yourself as God sees you?

or do you find yourself needing to be reminded that

YOU ARE

ACCEPTED

SIGNIFICANT

SECURE
[per Freedom In Christ Ministry & Neil T. Anderson]

{I carry these with me in my Bible}

OR
from a 2010 series I shared here that tells us
we are
LOVED

which equals
FREE
and
HEALED

LIVING a VICTORIOUS
CHRISTIAN LIFE

and
that's what I
HOPE
for as an outcome of this next
30 Day Journey

which lines up with last year's
FAITH DARE CHALLENGE
that Debbie Alsdorf sums up best
to
LIVE
intentionally
 as we
LIVE UP
[in relationship to God]
LIVE IN
[in surrender of self]
LIVE OUT
[in relationship with others]

this is how we are to
BE
and
DO
exactly
WHO WE ARE
who God says we are

SEEING MYSELF AS GOD SEES ME

EL ROI
who sees
ME
and
HE sees YOU

WE ARE HIS
WE BELONG TO HIM
HE CALLS US BY NAME
(in fact He gives us a new name)

"Some eastern religions speak of a person losing his personal identity as he develops greater god-consciousness. By contrast, Christianity teaches that we discover our unique identity as we draw closer to the Lord. Knowing we are secure in Him gives us the confidence to truly be ourselves, and His Spirit shows us our specific gifts and how to use them. Our identity “in Christ” is emphasized over and over in Scripture."~Charles Stanley

Sidenote: I mentioned early this year that perhaps My One Word should have been "Transform" rather than "Hope" so I guess this is why I plan to work through these verses as part of my process for 30 days to be transformed through my HOPE in Jesus Christ and the Promises in His Word. But trust me, it's more than a 30 day process ... or even the 50 days that Pastor Rick Warren did at the beginning of 2014 at Saddleback Church (and with small groups). I will base the next 30 days on the verses given on the tract from FICM that tell me "I am Accepted", "I am Secure" and "I am Significant" in Jesus Christ. It is by His Spirit, I am being transformed in the renewing of my mind one step and one day at a time. Be patient

More explanation coming in

READING THROUGH THE BIBLE

I just want to help get the WORD out and help anyone searching for a great resource, site and reading plan being hosted by Women Living Well (original home of GMG - Good Morning Girls). If you don't have a plan for reading God's Word, this is a good way to start out and even better if you get a GMG group to read along with for accountability ... however you don't need to have one or even register. I don't have any more to add except to GO THERE and read with

"WE DANCE"

In 1960 on this day
August 28th
my baby brother was born
and
little did I know that I'd only have 30 years
to spend with him this side of eternity

He left too soon.

I had this new favorite song in draft, waiting for the perfect moment to share it, which should be something special like my birthday, or our anniversary (no longer celebrated with just reason) or better yet a special day with the Lord like my Fridays (when I often listen to music like this and dance). [Lyrics]

"We Dance"

"You steady me, Slow and sweet we sway, Take the lead and I will follow
Finally ready now, To close my eyes and just believe That you won’t lead me where You don’t go

When my faith gets tired, And my hope seems lost

You spin me round and round, And remind me of that song,
The one you wrote for me --- And we dance,
And we dance  "

But these are not just ordinary lyrics nor is this a joyful special day any longer, yet each word of this song expresses how I feel ... when I am in my Papa's arms (since my dad and mom are not here either, but with my dear little brother in the great beyond and forever after) ... I love for my Father to hold me as "WE DANCE" ... and the swaying calms me and the sweet embrace soothes my fears.

And I get lost in the movement, swept up off my feet ... knowing that He's holding me and my tears ... and those fears. Well, they kinda have to cease ...

"I’ve been told, to pick up my sword, and fight for love.
Little did I know that love had won for me

Here in Your arms, You still my heart again
And I breathe You in l
ike I’ve never breathed till now "

Being in His Presence, in His arms, makes one feel this way so
WE DANCE
and
this stance
takes my breathe away and leaves me breathless
captivated and in awe
as my heart beats to His heart's rhythm
WE ARE ONE

"Just you and me

And I will lock eyes

With the one who’s ransomed me

The one who gave me joy from mourning

And I will lock eyes
With the one who’s chosen me
The one who set my feet to dancing

We dance
Just you and me

It’s nice to know
I’m not alone
I’ve found my home here in Your arms "

This is what helps me face one more year
missing my little brother

and then
not missing him
because I know he is where we will meet once again
in a place with no more sorrow or pain
no more tears, no more grief

maybe
a
DANCE

or just a minute
in a trance
captivated by the
ONE
who held me and holds me
through all the years

the
ONE
who gives me the
Grace
and
Hope
to
dance
on

the
ONE
who sweeps me off my feet
in His loving embrace as
my eyes lock
with
HIS
and
I can finally
thank
HIM
for the
dance

for the years
HE
restored my
heart
with
HIS JOY
while
we danced

* since this was in draft, I almost forgot to publish it (can't believe I still had it tucked away until I saw it again) and I so want to savor this dance and this song ... so better late than never, on this a not so happy birthday but one of fond remembrance of my sweet brother who tagged along everywhere with me and my girlfriends ... and I miss him tagging along in life yet know he is in a better life now. Happy Birthday G---! I love you! {better to publish on this day than wait until the anniversary of your death on Nov. 2nd and then mom's on Dec. 2nd plus my blog is pretty scheduled and full here for the next few months} so DANCE and REJOICE!

WOW ~ MOORE "Encased in Grace"

Today as I venture "Beyond the Gate" through the Garden of Grace (changed to the Garden of HOPE for some of my blog WOW posts but today it's GRACE) because Beth Moore is bringing more than her "Whispers of Hope" ... she is continuing with her series at Life Today on "Encased in Grace". I have gone back to where I first shared this and added her new links for this series so anyone can link over and see the episodes at Life Today and follow along as I do and I'm learning today how to quit trying to "resurrect the old dead" me.

Romans 6:6

My favorite part of Part VI was "writing the obituary of your old, dead self"! This was one (from Kayla) that Beth shared ... that touched me, as I hope it moves you (and the testimony of Monica-special needs, after Beth on Life Today, brings me to tears to see how she is changing lives and giving):

"In what was one of the least likely and most unexpected events conceivable, former Kayla passed away on November 17th, 2010. In meeting her abrupt end, death swallowed her completely; not even a remnant of her remains to look upon.

But before you are tempted to grieve the end of that life, I must explain that the former
Kayla was wrought with misery and despair all the days of her life. A slave to self
harm, she awoke each morning with the utter disappointment that her heart was still
beating. She was clothed in loneliness and shame, a victim of abuse, and a staunch
atheist since childhood. There was no light in her. No spark of joy or love or peace;
plagued with thoughts of suicide year after year, wearing a mask of I'm really okay,
just starting to slip when she finally met her unexpected end. After turning to drugs,
alcohol, any form of self harm available, she finally decided it was time to let go and
leave this earth.

But mere weeks before she could take her eternity into her own hands, someone
infinitely greater and more valuable and perfect in love decided to strip her of her
identity. In the course of mere hours, former Kayla was completely replaced. The new
Kayla, the daughter of a king, fully loved and forgiven, free to love her God, herself
and others, stands transformed in the place of that old life: A new mind, a new heart,
an entirely new purpose now stand in triumph as a result of Jesus ultimate sin
conquering death and resurrection."

The others were good also ... maybe I should write one of my own ... future challenge???

***

I'm to be dead to that old nature and person.

My old self
no longer
has to be brought or carried around
with me for my testimony
to be complete

it's my old destructive person
that I take with me
to
every place I go like
family reunions,
every holiday,
especially 10 yr. reunions,
etc.

because they all think
"You haven't changed at all"

They need to see the new me
not me carrying around the old one

WHO DO YOU WANT TO BE?
