"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." ~ from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

HODGEPODGE HEARING

There's something special happening in 2016: inside me, all around me, hopefully back home in MN, and also for you. I'm leaning in, like never before in my entire life (although I'm sure I needed to do so frequently) to hear what God is saying ... not just those 'special whispers' I share ... but in everything and everywhere ... I really want to HEAR Him! {no, not 'necessarily' audibly}

I don't think it's because my One Year (real book) devotional just happens to be "Hearing His Voice" by Chris Tiegreen {mine's blue, not maroon} (even though I purposefully chose, ordered, received and brought it with me from last fall when I was home) ... but it certainly helps. That's also when I was thinking that the One Word for me for 2016 might have to do with HEAR or LISTEN or even VOICE (but all of these were dealing with really BEing open to HEAR God in all ways like never before, I want to be in-tune and not miss a thing. Do you ever feel that way? like you just want to get off the world for awhile and all that's happening (especially the horrible atrocities and LIFE) just to "sit at His Feet".  Well, I do ... more and more ... and thankfully, my current lifestyle affords me this luxury, somewhat better than any other time in my life and most likely than your busy life. Sometimes deep inside me, I have this urgency to HEAR God ... to sit back or lay back and really LISTEN!  This hit me hard last week and compelled me to break away and then drew me into sharing this here. Then I just happened to choose this to read.

I'm not sure, besides the guidance of my devotional and I pray, the Holy Spirit, if this intense desire welling up in me, has something to do with what may lie ahead for me (or us), or perhaps if it's due to CHANGES (that other One Word) that I will be facing, or the CHANGES God wants to do in me and on and on my mind wanders. But then I came upon a voice within my head, encouraging me "why not share about this?" followed by "why not at least share the prayers in your devotional?" {there can't be that much to violate copyright, at least I hope I do not} ... it's just that many times as I read, I just want to say ..."hey, did you HEAR that?", "did you see how this prayer speaks to my or your situation or circumstance?" SPOT ON ... of course, the devotional and the chosen scripture are just as beneficial ... but it's those 'prayers'  and I want to share the ones that I was journaling at that moment (back in March) and then I think ... well, look ahead to next week's or April's ... and I fall upon this for March 31st:

"...Lord, there is no limit to the ways You can speak. Help me notice "coincidences" that apply Your general Word to my specific situations. Point me to Your long-ago truths that address my right-now needs."Chris Tiegreen(C.T.)

You see, there it is ... but I don't see "coincidences" what I see are "God-incidences" (my word, or perhaps you've seen it used or used it yourself to express "only by God" could this come about ... "but God").  Then I decide that I've just got to share more (even if I have to type out each word ... no copy and paste allowed when you're 'borrowing someone else's words' from a real book, which means that I might just have to draft this one after it publishes, because I most certainly don't want to infringe on copyright-but there's gotta be some leeway, oh, probably not- just wishful thinking. Dare I? God help me and have mercy?) {so, I venture over to Chris Tiegreen's blog, just in case, he's already shared this there ... and I can link to him? naw} Forgive me Chris and Tyndale.

It really does take more effort this way ... at least it's in reverse order from the actual book, which has Scripture, devotional, prayer and as you can see, I have prayer, devotional, Scripture ... and my comments intermingled like I sometimes do in my books (but not this one, I have a b-day journal gift from my cousin that I use for this).

"Besieged. That was the word that kept coming to mind as I faced enormous crises on several fronts. At least three situations of major concern for me were turning drastically worse. I felt as if the whole world were against me, as if I had vicious enemies who had conspired to strike at my most vulnerable points at the same time."...(C.T.)

I think we all can relate to this at some time in our life, or maybe now,
or in the near past or future. But I'm sure, we're not alone in this.

..."As I drove down the road-on my way to deal with one of the crises-I cried out to God. "Lord, I feel besieged. I'm overwhelmed. I don't know what You're doing and why these disasters are happening. Please, please help."

"Stopped at a traffic light to turn left, I noticed the cars passing in the right lane. The number of the license plate of one was 273. Then another passed with the same number on its license plate:273. Coincidence? Possibly. But when I see "coincidental" repetitions of numbers, I often look up the closest possible biblical reference, usually from the Psalms. As soon as I could, I pulled up the Bible app on my phone and looked up Psalm 27:3: "Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident." "

"Immediately I felt confident. The situations wouldn't change for some time - in fact, some of them still look bad - but I had heard from God. I knew He was with me. I could rest in the fact that I wasn't suffering from random events or experiencing God's discipline. He knew I was surrounded by hostile forces, or at least felt that way. And He reminded me, somehow, through divinely orchestrated passing traffic, that I had every reason to be confident in Him."Chris Tiegreen

I don't know what you may be facing or if for any reason, you feel overwhelmed by circumstances or in the midst of a battle (or two) or if there may be a "war" being waged against you or at least that's how this attack feels ... or having so much to deal with or cope with at once ... but I do know that we have been armed and now encouraged by this word from Chris Tiegreen for whatever or whoever.

I'm also learning from reading "FerVent" by Priscilla Shirer and being part of the (in)courage book club that finished up last Fri. that even though it often seems like "others" are waging war against us (Ephesians 6:12) and we get caught up or off guard waging war in the flesh against the "other", it's most often not 'them' but the enemy working against us. I've also heard it said that when the battle seems to be coming at you from all sides that's when you are nearing the victory or the enemy is feeling most threatened by you, so get your praise shoes on and start dancin' or do a war dance/stomp ... because hallelujah ... Jesus is alive!!! and lives in you, so since "greater is HE that is in you..." {that's if/when you are in Christ Jesus and know Him so well} 1 John 4:4

I'm fortunate right now that I'm not in a battle or in multiple circumstances tearing me apart, yet I know I have seen those days, and know dear ones that are facing times like this ... but my whole reason for sharing this message from Chris is not just because of what we're facing and that God's in this with us but because I want us to fully appreciate that and how we can HEAR God speak in such simple but God-incidences, that He cares so much about us that He will speak even in ways that we may not BE leaning into ... like numbers or license plates ...
or whatever and whoever, but we gotta open our eyes and open our ears to LISTEN, Hear God ... and WATCH ... BE on alert! Stay awake! Pray!  (Mark 13: 33-37) yes, pray and keep praying! Let's not fall asleep like the poor disciples in the Garden ... (Mark 14:37; Matthew 26:40; Luke 22:45 - actually 39-46 for the full story) ... we never know. But I have heard the alarm sounding ... I've read or listened to Anne Graham Lotz and others ... I've looked around at all that's happening and I pray. Yes, I felt compelled to share ...

<><><>

... and while I am at it ... and I already have a "FerVent Friday" occupying tomorrow's spot on my Blog, but I'd like to share two more things for April 1st (and no, it has nothing to do with "fools") ...

First of all, some of you may know her and others of you may not, and that's O.K. but you still can drop over to her blog (although she's not blogging much, just use the most recent one) and wish Cathy, a "Happy Birthday"!!! or email if you do know her or her Facebook page!!!

The 2nd one is the prayer and scripture (Isaiah 43:19) from this same devotional - tomorrow's is one of my favorite kind - they're called "From the Heart of God" (where Chris writes to us as if God is speaking to us from His heart) and these devotionals are my favorites, HEARing HIS Voice {how I would love to share all of these!!!}

... "Lord, open my eyes to see at least the next step, if not the whole path. I grow weary and wonder if I'm stuck where I am. But You put adventure in my heart. Lead me into every place You've prepared for me. As I'm faithful with the old, open my eyes to something new."Chris Tiegreen (C.T.) Amen Hallelujah

Oh, and by the way,
LOOP

W.O.W. ~ "Walk by Faith"

I actually should be posting a blog to link up with (in)courage "FerVent" book club ... yet this is my W.O.W. day and I guess I really have not processed all those "strategies" enough to write about them ... although I hoped that maybe I'd hear Him Whisper about what I might compose ... but "we" had other plans. I also have decided that this will be my "image" for these

I'm sure that by the time this publishes, I will have received my wonderful emails with new "Whispers" on Weds. yet I paused as I remembered the first time I read "Jesus Calling" and how I felt certain that Jesus was saying this just to me ... a special "whisper" that seemed to be written to me right where I was on the day I read it, along with how many other thousands of readers. And so it was with the other ones I read by Sarah Young like "40 Days with Jesus"; "Jesus Today: Experience Hope through His Presence" and then came this one with words spoken to Jesus and His Words back (like a dialog) in "Dear Jesus: Seeking His Light in Your Life" and I was hooked on books or hearing His Whispers like this

... so I'm sure this is why I've loved sharing from Jennifer Camp's LOOP devotional (written this way) and from The Passion Translation "I Hear His Whisper". For some reason, these just have a special appeal to me as if I really was hearing God whisper these words that I probably have read in the Bible many times, but written this way ... it just seems more personal and specific, hearing Jesus calling like this. This manner of writing also reminds me of a book (now online) that I read many, many years ago as a young believer, "God Calling" by Two Listeners. I guess I'm still 'impressionable' this way.

Today, I decided that on my Walk, I would share a new way that I discovered to rediscover my delight once again in the first book I had read like this with those "whispers" of this kind by Sarah Young ... often I had overlooked the rest of the title after "Jesus Calling ..." "Enjoying Peace in His Presence".  If you notice the words I underlined, in each of these book's titles, you will see one of my One Words given for each of the previous years: Hope, Light, and Peace. I never even thought about this when God gave me those as One Words back then, however I know I shared some of these "whispers" from Sarah Young here, back in those years ... and now Sarah has this new way to present

"Jesus Calling"

Are you listening?

I have chosen two for this week.

"Eyes of  Grace"
Jesus Calling by Sarah Young
{new video devotional}

... "I view you through "Eyes of Grace" ...

I chose "Eyes of Grace" mostly because that was another One Word of mine: Grace (in 2015) and of course, it's timely with its message after Holy Week and Resurrection SONday. I love the idea that Jesus "views me with eyes of grace" ...

... and this second choice "Walk by Faith" just seems appropriate with this weekly Walk on Weds. now known as Whispers on Weds. to listen as we "Walk" listening to His "Whisper", a portion from God's Word, and how we need to "walk by faith" not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV) and (Psalm 96:6). Beautiful reminders of God's whispers in His Word ... like a Weekly One Word review of my previous year's One Words: Peace, Light, Hope, Grace; so I wonder if I might find one to confirm which One Word I need for 2016: BE or CHANGE? But no matter which ... I will continue to listen to HEAR His Voice, "Walk by Faith" as He watches over me with "Eyes of Grace" ... it can't get any better than this - Now let's just see if any of my emails "whisper" the same.

Although this "whisper" from Jennifer Camp
LOOP devotional email, March 28th, 2016
is not exactly on the same line as above
it most definitely is in line with my
HEART
and
my longing
because
HE HEARS ME

So I just had to add it to share it here
since I can't do this via Facebook
like many do/can

Your Longing, My Desire

My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the Lord;my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God—Psalm 84:2

You, my daughter, are precious to Me. You, my daughter, are right in your longing. I love how you long. I love how you long for more of Me. There is so much more for you. There is so much more I have for you—and you discover the desires of your heart when you listen to your longing.

All longing is born from a heart unsatisfied. You can be satisfied in my love and yet you are unsatisfied, as you wonder how you can be with Me in this moment, right now. You wonder how I tell you there is no separation between us, how I am with you always, until the end of the age, and yet, still, I feel so far away.

Why, God, you ask, do you feel so far away? Why can’t I see you? Why can’t I feel you? I hear about your arms being around me. I hear about you coming for me, desiring to heal me, how you speak to me and how you reach out and touch this weary heart of mine. And yet, I wonder, really, if you are here, for me.  God, are you really there?

Oh, daughter, I hear you. I hear you.

My daughter, I hear your cries in the night, the weariness and the frustration. I hear your joy when it comes, as well as the yells of exasperation and the cries of desperation and pain. Oh, daughter, I know.

I know it hurts sometimes, and I can tell you this: you have to trust Me more than the realities of the world in which you live. What you see all around you is not always the truth; it is not always what you should see.

My truth and the lies of this world will never match up. It is my desire that my truth penetrates this world. It is my desire that you take my words and you carry them in your heart so that your eyes see Me in this world, and your ears hear Me in it.

I desire you take my love for you and feel this world with my hands. I desire you let your feet travel where my feet lead you—my words to you, my love for you, guiding you. I will never ask you to go where I am not leading you first. Even in the places where it feels you are alone . . . if I am leading you there, I am there. I am with you. I am with you, my child.

So pray for my eyes to be your eyes. Pray for my ears to be your ears. Pray for my hands to be your hands. Pray for my feet to be your feet. Pray for my heart to be your heart. Yes, that is my desire: let my heart be your heart.

I have come for you, my daughter. My heart beats for you. Let the reality of my heart beating for you protect your heart and increase your longing for Me.

"BY HIS WOUNDS, WE ARE HEALED"

Do you really believe this?

Isaiah 53:5

Last week, in the midst of Holy Week, I stumbled upon this and quickly copied and pasted the info in the box below, thinking I'd get back to watch, read, listen to some or all of them ... but it was I who jotted down that question as it pierced my heart.

"BY HIS WOUNDS, WE ARE HEALED"
Video MESSAGES from

The cross of Christ is a beautiful symbol for you as a Christian. Though it was an instrument of tor…
The violence Jesus suffered ended violence eternally. It was this lack of peace for our Savior that…
Jesus was crowned with thorns so that we could be crowned with glory. By his wounds, we are healed&m…
Because of Jesus, you are declared not guilty in God's courtroom. Jesus' condemnation sets ... "

I could not remember why or how I came upon these messages from "Time of Grace Ministry" because I do not know them, or the pastor or anything about them; so I figure it was from one of the You Version reading plans I was looking through for Holy Week. Yet having asked myself that initial question, it lingered with me throughout the events of Holy Week ... and I recalled when I memorized this verse, claimed this verse and so wanted to see the truth in these words. It actually was on two separate occasions with two very dear people to me, both in my family. One, my youngest brother, did not receive his healing on this side of eternity, but I do believe he received the ultimate healing in heaven by Jesus Himself ... because once we leave here and arrive in heaven, those who believe and have placed their trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we spiritually arrive at a heavenly place of no more tears, no more pain, no more suffering... {it's really "no more nights" ...}. And the precious other one, well, she's still here ... and so for the time I prayed, and prayed claiming this verse for her, she was healed. It does not mean that she has had "no more" health issues however, she was healed and I gave thanks to God, for her healing and I thought she had also.

So do I believe that "by His stripes, we are healed" ... a most definite "yes" ... however, the healing may not look like what we think it should and it may not be this side of eternity.

I have felt and seen Jesus bring healing to me when He knows that I am in pain, suffering or not trusting to see any medical person here and God goes to work, He does His Healing and I truly know that He's touched me and saved me quite often, by me just laying my hand on the 'spot' and asking in Jesus' name. I also realize that there is some deep healing going on in me and needed in me ... but I do believe that I am in a process of that healing. All healing is not for physical issues, sometimes the healing that's needed is emotional or spiritual. Sometimes, I believe that we are a complicated 'mess' and one is connected to the other; so the healing that we need seems like a complete overhaul ...

As I mentioned recently, I am reading a few books, and in some ways, each one is dealing with healing that I need, but one stands out that I strongly believe I need ... for emotional healing ... referred to in the book as "EA - emotional abundance" and I am sure as I cling to every word in this book, it will BE life CHANGING for me ... not just for "Peace for a Lifetime ..." but for the rest of the title "... Embracing a Life of Hope, Wholeness and Harmony through Emotional Abundance" by Lisa Murray. WOW! Not only is that a mouthful, but it's power-packed with so much that is needed by me.

Now, the book by Holley Gerth that I am sharing on Mondays with Holley's Book Club is also dealing with some "healing" issues in me and for me but not like this book but the two certainly make this an awesome, on-going process, somewhat overwhelming at times. As you work through the LifeGrowth, Holley has parts from Your Life Coach ...and I already feel like she is ... aMazing as Holley is, and I was or am becoming again.

So, even though, I am not currently in need of "healing", God is doing a "healing work". Not physical ones that can be seen or felt as in lessening the pain ... but spiritual ones, and mostly emotional ones that are surfacing. Usually unseen when they are spiritual or emotional but they manifest in other ways.

I just happen to have gotten Lisa Murray's book, through a recommendation of a new special blog friend, Lori Schumaker, {can't wait to tell you about why she is special} through Kindle Unlimited ... but have since found out that if I do not continue Kindle Unlimited, I will loose all the books I found and have added from there to my collection. As you can tell, I don't want to loose Lisa Murray's book, so I have added it to the top of my wish list for when I get my new April shower funds :).

UPDATE: (special from God and Amazon, maybe Lisa too): yesterday, I was blessed to get this book and you still can too at a really great deal (March 28 and 29th, 2016). Now I considered just deleting the above but I so wanted to show how GREAT God is and how He hears us and answers!!! I'm WOWed by this, really!

I ended up at Lori's blog for a giveaway that she was having on Holley's book ... and Lori graciously has sent me both books of Holley's, via DHL from Amazon {never knew they would do that, she must have a special connection. Well, I'm sure she does - a heavenly one, as evident in her writing.} and I wasn't even the winner!!! Because I did not think I could get both and had to decide/choose one or the other, I had asked Holley, and maybe even Lisa "which one is best for me to get?"; Life Growth Guide (needs to be written in, so Kindle would not do for that) - lol - or the original "You're Already Amazing". I am so thankful that Lori, without even knowing me, responded in love and I received them just in time. in separate packages, so I never even expected the second. What a wonderful blessing!

Maybe Lori sensed or saw my 'need' or a wound in my comment and she was sensitive to the Holy Spirit and responded. I certainly was not looking for this ... but I so wanted to join Holley's Book Club and now I can with REAL books in my hands.

I often try to present myself as all-together (huh?) Not anymore {are any of us?} I wonder ... usually I look around Blog land or online and see so many in my estimation that seem to BE.(sigh) I use to BE! or I thought I was (double ha) but I also use to BE very needy and broken. So out of that neediness and brokenness comes some mighty fine healing. As a result comes a willing heart to help others find healing in Jesus' arms. I was hoping that my 'wounds' were no longer so apparent or showing ... but I guess not. I thought my 'wounds' had become scars and almost had forgotten about many that seem to be surfacing now.

So you can be sure that not only will I continue with my new Life Coach, Holley Gerth but I will be with Lisa Murray also {and will be acquiring that book by the time my Kindle Unlimited trial ends, because it's a definite keeper} And this isn't even a book review book. As you can tell, I am highly impressed and inspired by Lisa, Lori and Holley ... to name a few, but I know some pretty aMazing other sisters in Christ that have continued to encourage me after all these blogging years ... Sharon, Karen, Denise, Cathy, and you (whoever you may be, reading these words) ... you see, that's all it takes to start the 'healing' in someone. You never know what weight your words or prayers carry. But ... no matter what, believe ...

By His Wounds

I am healed

... then hold on and watch as God begins a new work and a continual healing that will one day be finished for eternity ...

“Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful part of us.”

YOU'RE ALREADY AMAZING LIFEGROWTH ~ 1

{from now on, for the next 8 weeks, these will be called "aMazing Mondays"}

So this is
aMazing Monday ~ 1

<><><>

Last week, Holley Gerth launched her Book Club
with an
Introduction
to

LifeGrowth Book Club

This Week's

Session 1

"Who God Created Us To Be"
[image credit]

I was just going to link you to Holley's Vimeo for Session 1
but this is even better

Holley has made the Session available online and at her site

{linked to The Voice, Message &NLT}

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
    and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
    Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it." (NLT)

I was thinking since Holley plans to post each Monday ... that I should choose another day, so I can share what Holley shares ... perhaps I will just move my post publishing time to a later time (either 12 pm or 6 pm even better) ... I'm not even sure about what we should have read for this week yet ... if you just have the "LifeGrowth Guide" clearly you'll need to read through Session 1 (p.9-27) {my pages may be different from yours} It's also recommended to read Chapters 1 and 2 of the original "You're Already Amazing" ... I'll have to wait to see what Holley comes up with ...  please be sure to read Holley's prayer in the Intro and consider her words as our prayer too!

Question 1
"How are you really doing?"

{according to Holley's LG book you can always "pass" but you are safe place; well, being here online it's not the same as a live group, I don't think we're ever safe online, even on Facebook or other social media sites. Since we're here online, every ? is optional}

Question 2 in "LifeGrowth"

"What do you think makes it hard for women to believe they're already amazing?"

Check out the definition of "Strength" (p.15)
under the section
"Find Your Strengths"
{at least 3 from her given list but if you already have your own that's OK}

I love the "Strength" acronym test to check them

Question 3 deals with those top 3 strengths and example

Question 4 is more for personal reflection on what you may
perceive as weakness may really be used as a strength

Now look at the definition of "Skill" (p.18)

Question 5 is about your top 3 skills
and how God uses them

Question 6 comes under the section
"Connecting Your Strengths and Skills"
after drawing your strength circles with skills surrounding each
decide who God has placed in your life during this season
for you to serve or how you are already doing so

Holley's Blog today focuses
on
STRENGTHS

*Most likely I won't be able to share this much each week from her book(s) so if you have them, or either one, or Holley posts one, it will work better; so I may just say refer to which question(s) we can share in the comments or you can just comment in general about that Week's topic. If Holley shares the Questions on her Book Club, we can just answer there or here (you don't have to do both). K?

RESURRECTION

He is Risen! John 11:25-26
[image credit: Crosscards]

John 11:25-26

Jesus proclaimed
"I am the Resurrection and the Life ..."

the rest of this is just as important for YOU and me!

"The one who believes in Me, even if he dies, will live. Everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die—ever. Do you believe this?” "

Oh, yes, Lord, I do believe
I believe You are the Messiah
I believe You are the Son of God
I believe ... You are

"The Resurrection of Jesus"

MY REDEEMER
lives
My Redeemer Lives!
[image credit:crosscards]

There are hardly any more "R" words than "Remarkable" for the wonder of this day yet the most significant "R" words are found by the Power in His Resurrection - our Redeemer (and all its' derivatives)! Redemption is just one of the derivatives or forms from this word which carries such great significance.

REDEMPTION

"The buying back or release of an object or person. In Scripture redemption refers to God’s ransoming of believers only through the death of Jesus Christ upon the cross and to all the benefits that this brings."BG

Jesus Christ
bought us and brought us back
He ransomed us

Yesterday, I wrote that I knew I had missed another important "R" word ... but I really hadn't because in every day, as our Redeemer was Revealed through each day's Word(s), I realized more and more the implications of this RESURRECTION and its power in my life and yours ... the most unlikely people are found at the Cross. Mary Magdalene was one of those most unlikely characters to receive REDEMPTION or maybe you think you are or someone you know ... just point them to the Cross and Jesus Christ, as their Redeemer, Savior and Lord!

<><><>

As painful as it is to watch "The Passion of Christ", it is this "passion" that Jesus has for us that redeemed us by His relentless love. This is the most precious scene to me from that movie ... when the Father hears His Son, sees His Son and a teardrop falls to the place of His crucifixion in response to Jesus' 7 last statements from the Cross. Yet His relentless pursuit of us pours the flow of His love through the outpouring of Jesus' blood. He is no longer on that cross or in the tomb, He is risen!

This One Drop says so much!

"Jesus Christ redeems believers from all forms of sinful bondage and oppression through His death and resurrection. The price of that redemption, His own death, represents a ransom paid to secure the freedom of those held in bondage to sin."BibleGateway

We are those held in bondage to sin and freed!
Our ransom has been paid.
Jesus has redeemed us!

Hallelujah!
REJOICE!

He is Risen
[image credit: Crosscards]

Matthew 28

He's RISEN!!!

HAPPY RESURRECTION SONday!

May Jesus' GLORY and LIGHT shine
on you eternally

May you sense the power of His Redeeming Love!

{I refuse to use the word *"Easter"* and most cards still use this
so may this be my card to you on this most glorious day!}

Kinda my silent protest against continuing this.

Above, I linked "The Power of His Resurrection" to one in a wonderful series of 12 parts from "Knowing Jesus". Each one is worth reading (so maybe next year) ... however, if you have an extra moment this week ... would you consider reading or listening to the 12th one ... because like my blog, it's entitled "Amazing Grace" ... and I see this as a wonderful way to sum up this week of "R" Reflections ... even if it does not start with "R" ... Last year, if you recall, my One Word was "GRACE" and during Holy Week ... I wrote on each letter of the word G-R-A-C-E ... here's the one for "R"! May God richly bless you with His aMazing Grace, Love and Mercy found in Jesus Christ!~Peggy

RESTORATION and RISEN

"Saturday in the Tomb"
on the Holy Week Timeline

[Saturday's events recorded in Matthew 27:62-66; Mark 16:1; Luke 23:56; John 19:40]

or
LAID TO REST
{also means "bring to an end"}

John 19:42

REPOSE
{state of being at rest, freedom from worry, peace of mind, calm ...}

CBN
"Buried & Sealed"
"The Garden Tomb"

I'm not quite sure why the "R" word I chose for today was
"RESTORATION"
[linked to my Gateway Devotion "Full Restoration"]
{but I'm sure it's because God's doing something "new" in me}

rather than any of the other ones
like
REPOSE
because when I hear this word I immediately think of
Psalm 23

"The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. In verdant pastures He gives me repose. Before restful waters He leads me; He refreshes my soul"

I often have heard this Psalm as one of the readings at the memorial services of dearly departed loved ones, as a source of comfort, quite likely because we are finally at Rest ... Refreshed ... in Repose ... before "restful waters". Heaven is the place of eternal rest ... the final reward for faithful followers of Jesus. I've heard often in comments of consolation "may he/she rest in peace" ... I guess I believe if we are to find "rest of our souls" or "repose of our souls" we must first be restored. Restore and renew are somewhat synonymous in God's Word in this context. Sometimes restoration means we need reconciliation first.

"High Maintenance Christianity: Three Steps to Restoration"
{good woman analogy in this one}

"Even when we fail the Lord badly, if we will repent God will restore us and use us again in His service. "Bible org

{which takes us back to yesterday's "R" Word, which leads us to today's}
"Leading People Toward Redemption and Restoration"
I knew I missed another really great "R" word
REDEMPTION
oh, but that's coming

I'm reading a fabulous book, "Peace for a Lifetime ..." by Lisa Murray, which is by far the most helpful book personally I've read in quite a while. Anyways, it is not only helping me RESTORE peace in my life but it's RESTORING many areas of my life. So I ventured over to her website and read the following quote from her in a really beautiful post "Why Should You Get Excited about Spring?"

..."REDEMPTION ushers in unexpected RESTORATION." Lisa Murray
This is what I hope for you and me!

As most of you know that read here, I began a study on REST ... with "REST ASSURED" by Vicki Courtney, but this REST is different than the final REST. (or is it?) When we desperately are seeking a moment or time of "rest", we actually are asking for that deep sense of calm, tranquility, and the ability to just step back and step away that's found in the freedom of true rest. If you're like me, many nights we finally fall asleep, and just one disruption awakens us and we just can't find a way to fall back asleep. So we lay there "restless" and our minds cease to ramble as we attempt every way possible to find that release once again and return to sleep. Yeah, rest is hard to come by, for the "young and restless" or even us, not so young any longer. Perhaps we needed to "lay to rest" something or finish something or reconcile with someone or ... on and on ... our minds run. Yep, I really need this "dare to rest" challenge ... and this study on REST even if it's not the beginning of the year ... an intervention for my soul. But that's not today's "R" word ... although it most certainly could be. And reading Lisa Murray's book on "Peace for a Lifetime" ... is the perfect match - rest and peace!

In the word RESTORATION, we see that it begins with "REST" and we also see RESTORE ... and more but what is actually ...

The meaning of
"Restoration"

"The returning of something or someone to their original state. Through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ, both humanity and creation will eventually be restored." BG

Thinking of
RESTORATION
I see old as being made new
{I could use some of that}

... but in the case of Jesus, I believe that He just returned to the reign of His Father's, where He belongs ... at His right hand, His rightful place of authority, because He wasn't in need of being redeemed ... just resurrected ... a resurrection of life.

"RISEN"

Jesus Christ is Risen
Hallelujah!

{perhaps this "R" Word is really part of tomorrow's}

In previous years, I have looked at the "7 Last Words from the Cross" and changed the wording to read the "7 last statements from Jesus", because each one was spoken by Jesus from the Cross in a full statement packed with such importance and significance from His life to ours. When I reflected on these statements in the past, I was given these "I" words as a focus for each one respectively: 1) Intercession 2) Intervention 3) Interest 4) Isolation 5) Identification 6) Invitation 7) Invincibility, but the statements remain the same from Jesus, in His Word.

This year I chose to look at each day with Reflection of an "R" word not what Jesus spoke from the Cross ... yet as I did I also reflected through a YV reading plan on 7 other words shown in these 7 last statements by Christ, however they do not start with the letter "R" or "I". They are 7 words that fulfilled Scripture that testified about Jesus and reflected His aMazing love for all of us: 1) Grace 2) Hope 3) Compassion 4) Desolation 5) Fulfillment 6) Victory 7) Trust

1) Luke 23:33-34
2) Luke 23:42-45
3) John 19:25-27
4) Matthew 27:45-46
5) John 19:28-29
6) John 19:30
7) Luke 23:44-46

My chosen random "R" words led me through my own reflection of all of the days in Holy Week and what I've learned personally in and through the Word, Jesus Christ ...  I see Jesus Revealed in each Word; each Way, in Truth, and in Life ... given to bring me FULL RESTORATION in the Risen Jesus Christ. He's no longer in the Tomb ... just Look

"What the Lord has Done"

Hosanna
Jesus died and Rose Again
Hallelujah

(leading us to the "R" Word for tomorrow and the reason I chose "R" this week)
"Jesus Risen from Death"

I have not really written on
RESTORATION

but
what I have written
has brought restoration for me
and is enough for today
plus if you follow some of the links
it will help like this specific one
which I think can be applied to any sin area
not just the one given

May you find
RESTORATION
in
Jesus
and
His Word
as I have
whether it starts with an
"R" or "I"
or
any other letter
because
He wrote us
a personal letter
the Bible
the Word of God
so that we might come to have a
RELATIONSHIP
that's
personal with God
and that's worth all the
letters in One!

This is what it's all about!
Our Relationship
with
Him
